  As much as I love reformed Starlight but villain Starlight is literally so incredibly cool and a cult leader pony is so cool and the cutie remark is (in my opinion) one of the best episodes. Anyways incredibly true thank you.

  This is one of my favorite show. I watched it when I was kid and i re-watched it in 2022 as adult and I still love it. I was surprised when I realized there were lesbian ponies.

  Let's see: *A character that believes conformity is the only way to make people happy, and plots revenge on someone when they say otherwise. *Could care less about the consequences of her actions as long as she makes her target suffers for her interference. *Is only likable when she's "reformed" and acts like everyone else around her. Does anyone else notice the hypocrisy in this, and how it's similar to a certain fan community whenever someone points out said hypocrisy?

  You forgot: - Luna torturing herself for years out of guilt - Scootaloo being neglected by her parents - Applejack’s parents being dead - Starlight Glimmer starting a cult - The Legion of Doom nuking Celestia’s castle - Starlight Glimmer stalking Twilight and her friends - Terramar being forced to choose between divorced parents - Zephyr Breeze exploiting and abusing his parents and, last but not least: - every single Queen Chrysalis scene where she transforms, attacks, stalks, or crawls nightmarishly along the ceiling while turning her head 180 degrees

  Starlight is still the best Villain in my eyes. First is the sstuff you say. She isn't even a villain she has reason for what she did. And she was NEVER defeated. That she reformed was the reason she was "beaten". If she wouldn't have changed her mind, she and Twi would probably still fight.

  Honestly, shows that have these types of villains where they essentially KNOW their flaw but actively ignore it and try to bury that side of them deep down, essentially refusing to learn fron their actions and having the consequences fall down on them in a glorious collapse from what little grace they had is very fun, and oh so satisfying. Noting this here, Jax from tadc is definitely that type of antagonist, and will refuse to grow as a person and end up in the cellar as a result

  I'm taking my hatred of Starlight Glimmer to the grave lol, I literally skip episodes about her on rewatches cause I hate her that much. I gave this video the benefit of a doubt, very good video to be sure! But I still dislike her. Her design and VA are great, but I am forever on the stance that they realised how much people like Sunset Shimmer, so they made a rip off of her for the main show and shoe horned her into the main cast. I can definitely understand why people do like her, but personally, she really is not for me!

  also starlight and luna pretty much have the same backstory with nobody loving them, luna had a richer story. like an immortal thousands of year old evil princess sister compared to a petty but cute pony is better
