"Don't worry baby. It's gonna be alright
Uncertainty - can be a guiding light
I hear voices, ridiculous voices
I'm in the slipstream
Let's go, let's go - overground
Take your head out of the mud baby"

No doubt Sham would have won the Derby and Preakness but I don't think he would have won the Belmont . The second and third place horses behind Secretariat were to strong .

Sham was born to be Secretariat's gallant competitor. Are they soul-brothers? Sham's name is interesting, too. Is it short for Shamrock? Who punched Sham that he would lose two teeth? Secretariat and Sham gave each other swift competition but in a gentle way, it seems. Both had tremendous speed and huge hearts. I bet both are running joyfully and playfully together now...

Yours is the BEST video about the phenomena of Secretariat winning the Triple Crown. God decided to incarnate in a beautiful horse, and we all felt it.

I do think Creator and Pegasus teamed up to create the perfect Thoroughbred in Secretariat.💖 Forever. That said, Asfan al Khaladeah, an Arabian who just won his 17th of 17 races (in the King Abdulaziz Cup for Arabians, on Saudi Cup day in March, 2024) was pretty darned impressive. They're more "hot-blooded," and have to ridden a bit differently, no pony escorts... don't even start racing until 3 yo... but later, can race, and do stud duties concurrently; jockeys warm them up with their legs out of the irons, and their breathing seems to be different (only 6 vertebrae in the neck might have an effect), and when the jockey gave the cue, I thought Asfan was literally going to leave the ground, and start flying upward, the way he surged forward!

I was 13 and in love with all horses, but especially Secretariat. I watched all three races on TV, mesmerized by that beautiful being cruising along those racetracks with such strength and grace. I visited the Derby museum in Louisville two years later and was soooooo excited to see his silks, and colors hanging from the rafters. How fortunate I feel to be alive during world history when this other-worldly stallion Secretariat lived and ran.

"A moment of eternity" is a perfect description. I remember being on my feet screaming as he started pulling away. But when they came around the last turn and Ronnie turned his head to look back at the field so far away, it really did feel like time stood still for a moment. I think I just wished it would, because I knew this was one for the ages.

For a brief moment you get to see Eddie smile. That says it all. It’s always the horse and the jockey. Secretariat was a rocket but he was who he was because of Eddie. Right now Eddie is probably giving him a rubdown.

One of the greatest moments in sports history, was Sham and Secretariat. This is one for all time. In terms of film history, this is one of the all time great moments. Both were heartbreakingly epic. The moment Sham broke, and Secretariat went on to something otherworldly… was chilling. Both of these heroes, live in Heaven forever.

I, as well, am a super Secretariat fan! Still, I love Sham! I think all would agree that he helped make Secretariat great! Why? Because Sham was great! Some say that when Secretariat beat him in the Kentucky Derby that he broke Sham. I see no evidence of that! He ran as good at the Preakness as at the Derby! When he challenged Secretariat in the Belmont... when he went a neck in front of Secretariat (and Secretariat was best when challenged)... that was what I believe caused Secretariat to rises up and do what was thought to be impossible! Sham experienced a cracked leg bone, I believe that alone slowed him down. There is no doubt that he would not have beat Secretariat that day, but there would have been no 31 lengths, I don't think. I suspect it was supposed to work out that way. The jockey made a great decision in sparing the horse. I will always believe it was Sham's leg that was broken, but never his will! What a great horse!!! But I do believe it was he who made the greatest even greater!

It's now been half a century. Of the three most prestigious (arguably) horse races, he continues to hold the record FOR ALL THREE. 50 years and no horse has beaten his time in any of the triple crown races. He didn't *just* win the triple crown, he didn't *just* set the record in each race, he won each race in a time that has not been equaled ever. The last of the three races was inaugurated in 1875. 1875. We are close to 150 years of triple crown racing and ONE horse holds all three records??!?!?? Oh, and by the by, the Belmont record of 2:24 for 1-1/2 miles is good for any track, anywhere. Not just the race record, the distance record. For 50 years.

I hated Sham's rider. The way he whipped Sham during the races was not an encouragement tap rather an abuse batch the way he beats Sham especially during the Preakness!. Sham , I love you they should've picked a different jockey for you.
