What about the Pork farms now heavily populating the farms. The individual workers ride their bicycles to work in the industrial farms. Ford is enroaching on thecland and building new subdivisions for Indian immigrants. Many of the goung Mennonites have moved to PEI to farm. Now Kent county is welcoming others down by Chatham. Us locals cant get near the market to shop, its full of people from Toronto, the food is good if you can get in there. .

It is a very pleasant town; the Mrs and I visit several times a year to have a picnic in the private park at the top of the bluff, just south off the beach. The name of this park just escapes me, sorry. From this park one may see the same sunset twice! Once from the beach at the water's edge, and when the sun disappears below the horizon over the lake, just hustle up that long stair case from the beach to the park above, and you can witness the same sunset again. The lack of a washroom in the park is a bit of a pain, but it is a privately owned park open to the public. Public washrooms are not too far away on the street in the marina.

You have , like most Ontarians missed the mostly unknown gem of Campbellford. The Trent River comes sweeping in from the north a wide and strong River Valley, and by the time it leaves town it has turned into a River Gorge with Suspension Bridge spanning its rapids It has not only a Conservation Area within town limits, but also A Provincial Park with 160 camping sites, as well as several Waterfront Parks on each bank, one with Gazebo and The Giant Twoonie the Artist living here. It has a Renowned bakery, one of the smallest Pubs in the Country, A Chocolate Factory in town, ahhhh the smell to wake up to, as well as a Cheese Factory on its outskirts, a revived several Decades old Movie Theatre. Also it is where World Class Musicians from across the globe of various musical styles perform at The Westben Musical Barn Concert Hall.

Thanks for your comment Todd! I plan on visiting Campellford eventually as it is on my list, but I haven't been able to get there yet. This is a hobby of mine for now (would LOVE to do it full-time) so I don't have as much time as I'd like to visit places and get new articles/videos out. Will hopefully get to Campellford sometime this year!

My brother and some of his friends formed a band in highschool (nothing original -- just covers of top 40 songs), and one of the very small number of gigs they got was a bar (a hotel?) in Vienna. Of course my brother confirmed they did Falco's "Vienna Calling", but, no, they didn't do Ultravox's "Vienna".

What a blast from the past. I attended many wedding receptions when I was a kid, most in another town, but went to multiple wedding receptions at the Delhi German Home and managed to talk them into letting the kids in attendance to do some bowling in the alley they have in their basement at least twice. It's also where I tried my first and last cigarette (I was curious, but knew it wasn't healthy, and wasn't impressed) at a point where I was getting too old to persuade them to let us do free bowling. I grew up knowing a lot of tobacco farmers outside of Delhi, in southwestern Ontario, and can still remember the smell of tobacco kilns, exploring the fields, etc. I never worked on a farm like many kids in our area did during the summer, though, since my allergies would have made the already tough job all the tougher. While the decline in demand for tobacco makes sense to me, it's sad seeing the passing of the way of life of the old family farms.

Thanks so much for watching! Learning more about the tobacco industry in the area was quite interesting to me (my father and grandmother both worked in tobacco in Southwestern Ontario for a brief period of time).
