Well done. Thanks.
So, it's more than just a sign on the 401! I'm gong to check it out, thanks!
What a blast from the past. I attended many wedding receptions when I was a kid, most in another town, but went to multiple wedding receptions at the Delhi German Home and managed to talk them into letting the kids in attendance to do some bowling in the alley they have in their basement at least twice. It's also where I tried my first and last cigarette (I was curious, but knew it wasn't healthy, and wasn't impressed) at a point where I was getting too old to persuade them to let us do free bowling. I grew up knowing a lot of tobacco farmers outside of Delhi, in southwestern Ontario, and can still remember the smell of tobacco kilns, exploring the fields, etc. I never worked on a farm like many kids in our area did during the summer, though, since my allergies would have made the already tough job all the tougher. While the decline in demand for tobacco makes sense to me, it's sad seeing the passing of the way of life of the old family farms.

Thanks so much for watching! Learning more about the tobacco industry in the area was quite interesting to me (my father and grandmother both worked in tobacco in Southwestern Ontario for a brief period of time).

I found this video to be a good primer (no pun intended) for people not familiar with this gem of a small town.
