Way back in the 80s I worked at a place that used carbon fibre for its strength (re-enforcing armatures used in "shakers"). Autoclaved to ensure all set up properly. Did not always work. Carbon fibre is hygroscopic - leave it on the shelf for a while with any level of humidity and it absorbs water. Carbon fibre with a built in water content is actually weaker than fibre glass. Is this still true? I seem to remember a super-maxi yacht that lost its carbon fibre re-enforced keel, and they could not figure out why?
Protecting metal from rust is not rocket science. Convert the surface with a brush on oxidiser; brush on zinc undercoat, then brush on Hamerite. You could probably do the whole chassis for the cost of one or two cans of that fancy stuff. Simple.
Most Tesla haters are brainwashed braindead parrots, maybe even paid bots, unfortunately many people believe them without researching.
Honestly I love needlessly long silent wrench turning scenes, something very relaxing about that
the ham sandwich made me so mad, i dont even follow this guy, i shouldn't care, but my god.
I learned that I'm not the only person that enjoys doing shit just for the fun of it. Wait is this fun?
😒
@3:43 those exhaust pulses hitting the ground is a cool shot!
I don’t get it. If its off road, why its on road.
9:58 soo.... the BMW i3 with the range extender engine? It does 100+miles with battery alone and has a 600cc rotax two-cylinder as a generator.
You should def wear the respirator into the grocery store next time you go.
Can’t lie, I’m a little bit embarrassed that I knew it was a 997.2 not a 997.1 at 13:44
I'll admit that i skip your content from time to time. This wasn't a time that i skipped your content. P.S. i just watched your 2021 Pike's Peak vid and autoplay took me here, but I'm too lazy to go back to put this comment in the right place. You understand, don't you?
P.P.S. PLEASE tell me you talked more about that carbureted Ford 405 somewhere.
Lmaoo when you said this a how to turbo your oven video
don't have regular cab trash
omg, i cant believe i wasnt subscribed.. luckily the algorithm pointed me to every new upload. sorry for being one of 'those' statistics, im subbed now
All hail the algorithm, and ham sandwiches.
Matt makes cooler mistakes than I do :D
Fehler eingestehen ist ein Zeichen von Größe! Und da ich aktuell auf der Suche nach einem Hobel bin, wäre ein #Monoblock mega!
1. Come up with hypothesis: "Flush door handles might reduce drag" 2. Don't bother testing it, go straight to implementation. 3. Bad design introduces a multitude of problems. 4. Spend years refining design over countless iterations. 5. Tesla motors club forums still filled with people who can't open their car door.
Great vid. enjoyed thanks for sharing as I’m looking into purchasing a new box.
Down with DFMEA meetings!
Range anxiety and penis envy and cars mans main issues 😂
We do these things not because they are easy…but because we thought they might be easy…
"Wiggle the drill while cursing liberally " We have all been there !! I just bought a $1,000 flat rack for my 2015 Grand Cherokee that sits 2 3/4" out of level higher in the front. It's useless. The manufacturer says " that's how it's supposed to be" . Now getting ready to build my own.
You forgot to say that Ferdinand Porsche, in agreement with Hitler, stole the design for the first Volkswagen from the Czech Tatras. The Tatra model T-87 is a vehicle that Porsche copied to make the VW type1 later called the Beetle. What the Germans did to the Czechs, the Chinese are now doing to them. Karma is a bitch.
any1aliveoemoen is goign to send a bad dragon sticker for sure, i cant cuz wrong country, but if someone does please comment below, XD that way i know if someone did XD
Hi Matt not knowing next to nothing about electric cars how is the 12v battery charging taken care of ? ( I've workedas a mechanic for 40 odd years and electrics is black magic and witchcraft to me 😂)
As always informative entertaining whilst procrastination. 😇
It's "ado". Without further ado. Adieu is an entirely different word.
One of these cars will last another century.
i've been kicking around the idea for a project where i make a fiberglass unibody gokart. i have the "top half" basically done already and all i need is to make all the important parts with the critical geometry and then glue the two halves together to make my unibody. i will probably never finish this project because its insane lol
I watched this video after I arrived home from a two week trip to the USA. To California. To Los Angeles in fact, where I had a PILE of stickers in my bag. I am an idiot. ...Stickers are in the mail.
Meet the engineer
Fifty years ago, we made an oven to take a 4 X 8 upright. It hung from binder clips on rollers and drapery track, which extended out 9' to move the sheet to the vacuum mold. The box was made from asbestos sheet and aluminum angle, but drywall and corner bead would probably work, or fiberglass/concrete board for higher temperatures. Not much insulation, but it didn't run much, so cost was low. The key to even heating was adding a squirrel cage blower, re-assembled with the motor outside. No problem with thin stock.
5:00 Tutorial Starts 🙃
I'm a 16 year old car guy and this video feels like a warning
*Three facts that show you all you need to know:* 01) more than 70% of all ever built 911s are still on the road (that shows the insane quality) 02) the comparison with another (mentioned) enthusiast brand with limited access - Ferrari / while Ferrari won't allow big car magazines or TV channels to test their new cars on racetrack or publish any measured times and also sue you when you criticize them, Porsche WANTS you to test their new cars and when Porsche is on the way to break another world-record on the Nordschleife, Laguna Seca or wherever, they often do it with a public event - simply because they know how good they are (but in a very enthusiastic, nerdy and extremely nice way - which you quickly find out when you watch interviews with their engineers or test-drivers) 03) their racing-success is unbeatable / the LeMans 24h and the Nürburgring (24h) racing histories show why they are so good and why they are so crazy about their racing tech and engineering - they are by far (!) the manufacturer with the most wins at the LeMans 24h race (2nd is Audi) and after BMW the 2nd most succesful at the Nürburgring 24h race, but holding all Nürburgring-Nordschleife world-records (the most important one - for the best overall time - since 1983) and are also the leading manufacturer in other Nürburgring racing series (and obviously on many other racetracks, but I wanted to mention the 2 most important ones)
TBO I could use a vacation right now, say 60-120 days at Smith Road Denver. Sorry I digress, badass whip Sir Matt: you SHOULD be stoked!
Man, fuck that. Fuck tesla, im viper swapping my mk-VI bentley and none of you dickheads can stop me
Hey, i have one of those!
The only classic you ruined is the E-type that will never not look like a tongue to me now, so thanks for that lol
Why do you only speak German when you have a beard? Also how does it grow back so fast?
Why not.... my answer to all of your questions.
You’re fucking hilarious.
Well done!
Some of my Stickers are on their way! The Oly sticker is Old, good for maybe pit speeds. The others should get you past 200mph!
"literally inside the exhaust pipe" made my day man, I'm sick but that cracked me up good
Truth be told, I hate the wheels. It's an opinion. And I love the Honda. Would hate it due to the noise in about 5 minutes, (sensitive ears... that love turbine noise from afar,) but it's cute AF. I wish they still made cars that small and I would not be concerned about getting pancaked between giant SUVs in a crash with it to the actual thickness of a non-US pancake. But it's still cute AF and I'd love to have something like it. In a perfect world I'd be riding something like it with a huge grin on some winding forest road.
Inb4 thousands of furries sending bad dragon stickers.
