Hi there! I dabble in folk music and the occasional original song. I have a day job, so this channel is pretty informal. But I love singing and playing this music and I'm happy to be able to share it with you. I hope you find something here to enjoy and if not, thanks for at least giving it a listen. :)

Do you know the ballad "Willy o' Winsbury?" It is a favourite of mine and the one by Pentangle is the best. Jacqui McShee sang an outstanding version from their early album which you can find on KZread to listen to. If you could cover it with guitar, that would be so nice.
Wonderful cover..thank you i love stan rogers songs your cover is amazing.
Always a seat at the Skeff, among the Galwegians
Incredible ☝️☝️🤌
Holy Hell! Great job! This is an amazing cover!
Sound glad to hear. Your one of favorite new musicians I have come across playing clawhammer banjo. Thank you. Off to the sound cloud I go!
Brilliant!
Wow…love this on banjo. Beautiful!
Fantastic. Gonna learn this one for sure. Your playing is so beautiful. Thank you.
Beautiful! Thank you so much.
I was singing this in the shower last night. Your rendition is much lovelier. 😂
All Them Witches Shirley Collins Nora Brown Alt J Faoilean Mary Winterroth... That was my Rabbit Hole of Hares on the Mountain today... What a wonderful job you did of it... just perfect. How nice it would be to have a cup of tea and discuss Lord of The Rings and Hares on the Mountain
I am a big Stan Rogers fan and saw him many times, but this song never made an impression on me until I heard this version, performed by you. Thank you.
It was the last thing he recorded.
sick
I just started getting in to playing clawhammer and would love to learn to play this, but the camera is cutting off your right hand. Do you have tabs you can link or something to help me learn how to play this? It sounds great.
Really lovely Mary ...one of my favourite tunes. Do you know the Nora Brown version ... but love yer version too
Hope Steve Earl & Sharon Shannon see this 👏👏👏
Its a Scottish song written in the 1960's by Gordon Smith of Edinburgh and the line "Come by the hills to the land where is fancy is free, and stand where the peaks meet the sky and the LOUGHS meet the sea. Lough is some irish spelling the actual lyric is lochs and is pronounced the scottish way such as loch lomond or loch ness Nice to see a 5 string being used
Lovely version.
Lovely!
Beautiful voice ❤
Thank you so much!!
And I love your reading material
Song request: "When I Can Read My Title Clear" by Isaac Watts
Love your channel! I'm gonna pinch your smuggling the tin for my gig next month. Thanks for the Faoilean recommendation they rule :)
Thanks so much!! Have fun at your gig, that’s such a fun song. 😊 And yeah, Faoilean has a great sound, right? Thanks for watching!

Well a second sweet surprise. Love this tune and your version Mary!
Sounds great. Very nice.
What tuning is this?
It’s in double c. Thanks for watching!
Hi all! As obscure as this song might be, I feel like it occupies a special place in the hearts of those who know it, and I know I'm not the only one who enjoys a fresh take on it. I recently stumbled on a version from The Small Glories, and it has become, hands down, one of my favorite versions ever. If I had to choose one word to describe it, that word would be "joyful." They really put their own stamp on it, and I love the harmonies. Listening to it is just pure elation. So I'm passing it on to the little community gathered here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKWAlK2Nd5q_oNo.html Thanks, and all the best! :)
Cool
When I feel discouraged about my playing or feel uninspired to practice, I watch your videos
Thank you so much, that is so kind of you to say!
Less than 2000 subscribers? Something is wrong with the universe.
as another clawhammer player, i cannot tell ya how much joy I got in your playing. (and thaaaank you for keeping the fingerboard in frame! you're my hero!)
Thank you so much, and thank you for watching! :)
It is impressive to me that you are able to effectively sing the songs in your unique voice without feeling obliged to mimic Stan Rogers. Most people who cover other artists fall into this this trap.
Thank you!
My favourite version so far! I've been playing clawhammer for just over a year now and the celtic sound really eludes me
Thank you so much! To be honest, I didn't approach much Celtic stuff recently and I've been playing for years now. So glad you liked it!
❤️
Beautiful. What tuning are you in?
Thanks! I'm in double C for this.
Beautiful song and cover. I love Stan’s music. I sang this so msg for my mom in Hospice. Beatiful ending
