Oh yes, I am so sorry. Shih Tzus tend to bark moderately, alerting you to visitors or unusual sounds without being excessively loud. Pugs, however, are more expressive vocally. They make distinctive grunting and snorting noises that are typical of their breed.

But sadly after 4yrs of mistreatment it ain't easy to retrain so I didn't I there is a very sad life story my Miss Bella lived before I saved her from a bullet she looked like I'm not sure when I first got her but after 4 baths and lots and lots of mud she was an apricot and white can't say the same for everything in the bathroom including door mirror window handbasin and that mud pit which was my bathtub even the ceiling didn't get left out but after all of that she knew she was home and not in a run with a hunting dog that they shot in front of her inside the Run and she was next she killed a chook for f/sake and she was put down on 23 March 2023 at the vet Cancer kills every thing
Both are wonderful and adorable! This is a great video with such valid points. As a Shih Tzu owner, it's very important for folks who are considering this breed to take into account that the grooming needs are indeed very HIGH! Daily brushing/combing is a must with our girl! 💗

When first home, have a deep box it can't jump out of with newspaper or better yet potty pad in it. RIGHT AFTER eating place puppy in box, n sit with them. Don't take them out of box till they go potty with plenty of hugs n praise. Treats highly over rated n not needed. Also have puppy pad right near your door and when weather is OK take outside right after eating. Don't leave soiled puppy pads down always put fresh one in box and by the door. However, giving a treat every time a puppy does what's right establishes BAD habits. Excited hugs n kisses is the best treat.

My friend rarely gives her shih tzu high quality food.she just gives him biscuits (rarely) and gives him whatever is made in their home and her doggy never gets any problem.i thing it's all about what habits you give to your shih tzu
She may seem healthy now, but TRUST ME it's not at all good in the long run. I have seen/heard so many cases where dog owners would feed their dogs vegetarian food or table scraps and with age their dogs' health would just keep deteriorating.

My shitzu is amazing,, self trained service dog for my seizures,, doesnt bark at all unless hes alerting of oncoming seizure. Doesnt chew on anything except his toys.. never potty trained him, he literally learned on his own since birth.. i got him at 3cweeks due to a shady seller who was supposed to keep him with the mom for 2 months.

I've had both and they are polar opposites personality wise. Both are very stubborn and very sensitive personality wise and Lhasas are very yappy. They are great dogs though!

How many hours shih tzu stay allone at home
It depends on your training. Usually it's okay to leave an adult Shih Tzu alone for around 4 to 6 hours. It's not advisable though. Shih Tzus are very social dogs and they need company.

What shampoo do you use for shih tzu? Does it reduce hairfall
You need to find out why your shih tzu is having hair fall. There could be many reasons. Once you know the reason you can start thinking about how to fix it. There's no one shampoo fits all kind of situation. How often do you detangle your shih tzu? How often do you comb and brush? What other products are you using? How old is your shih tzu? The hair fall could be diet related, maybe some skin infection, maybe old age, maybe reaction to some shampoo or spray or powder, etc. The best thing to do is take your dog to a good vet.

The perfect age to start brushing a Shih Tzu's teeth is when they are puppies, ideally around 8 to 12 weeks old. This helps them get used to the routine early on.
No disrespect but about hslf of this is misinformation. First. colirs are black and blue? And the rest of them are variations of liver. Energetic? Yes, for about 15 minutes a day. That said, they have low activity needs but can be extremely playful. Sociable and friendly? Maybe but more so, they are bred to be bonded to and very protective of a single person. Their whole day, 24 hours is devored to guarding and alerting that person from danger and intrusion into their owner's territory. They can be friendly but by far, devoted to their owner. My Shih Tzu spe ss 24 hours at my feet wherever I am. If I am relaxing or napping, he is next to me facing the door or looking out the window for intruders without fail if he isn"t napping. Even if he is napping, if my feet hit the floor, he is up and ready in a snap. My Shih Tzu is does have the stubborn streak. He sometimea asserts his excitement or fear but is otherwise easily trained. Interestingly, he has good manners. Has never jumped or licked on people, lies under the table quute as a mouse and still in a restaurant, always waits on me to go down stairs first, and won't go to the food bowl until I step away. Shih Tzus are not fragile but sturdy, surprisingly strong, regal, geaceful and agile. Many have a great jump, not incredibly high or far but very beautiful, springy and graceful. And that's the rest of the story.😊
