I realize I'm over a year late. Oh well. Better late than never. Another good Santana song from the 2000s is "Game of Love" featuring Michelle Branch. You'll enjoy it.

BTW, the lead singer in this video is Eric Burden, and, he was in a few different groups. His voice is unique and iconic. Every song he did was fantastic.

Another great video! Dear (and yes I am old so I can say that), you need to give yourself more credit for your opinions about classic rock. Classic rock is not some monolistic repetitive same-old. Some of it is odd, weird, and, unique. But the appeal is that a specific song is unique and provides enough facets to appeal to many people. So, one of the things that make these songs great is the they ARE unique. Plus, from a musical standpoint, they are outstanding. I love your analysis. Please keep moving forward. BTW, the song I always recommend is "Riders On The Storm" by the Doors. It is definitely a "story" song and has a fantastic keyboard solo.

OH NO! You missed the ending that was on the original recording! It provides a total different level to the song! So sad that you missed that :-(

Is it just me, or was Taka channeling Chester Bennington at times in this performance?

LOL Yep, I am recommending this song to all of the "first time hearing" channels. Perhaps my favorite song of all time is "Riders On The Storm" by the Doors. It is definitely a "storytelling" song and not repetitive. It also has a fantastic keyboard solo that is perhaps the greatest in history. It is both representative of all of the Doors music, but, different from their other songs.

Excellent video! I understand you being from a different country and not knowing the geography mentioned in the song. I live in the US but never in the industrial area referenced in the song. You got the message from the song! Yes, sad and beautiful and exposing a segment of the real world that many of us are not a part of. If you choose to explore more of that part of the US and the industrial complex, I can only say that your feelings (all of them) will be multiplied by 10.

Another great reaction from Ms. Bisscute--her reactions are always well founded, reasoned, and heartfelt. The five Great Lakes (Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario) between the United States and Canada are the largest interconnected freshwater inland lakes in the world which make them virtually the same as an inland ocean. The Edmund Fitzgerald left a port in Wisconsin on the very western point of Lake Superior (“Gitchee Gumee”) loaded with iron ore, which is the raw material used to produce steel, headed to the straights at Sault Saint Marie between Michigan and Canada, to Lake Huron, and then through the St. Clair River to Lake St. Clair, then through the Detroit River into Lake Erie to Cleveland, Ohio, which is on the banks Lake Erie. The steel firms in Cleveland were going to use the iron ore from the Edmund Fitzgerald to produce structural steel. A “gale” is essentially an inland hurricane with high winds and high waves. I believe “the Chippewa” refers to the native American tribe that inhabited the area around the northern Great Lakes region. The Great Lakes have their own maritime culture, and this song is a great testament to that culture. "Where does the love of God go..." None of us knows what grace God gives to those who know Him in the face of their transition to eternity, but I believe in my heart He provides peace.

True story...I was eight years old and can remember this happening. Watching the updates on the national news of the search and rescue results (which turned into a recovery effort a couple of days later) was pretty rough on the whole country.

Wait till you hear "Either Way." I can't listen to it anymore. The lyrics could very much be a microcosm of my life...and, plenty of other people's as well. It'll rip your guts out. But, good music is SUPPOSED to do that.

The SS Arthur M Anderson was sailing through the same gale when the Fitz went down. They were in radio contact throughout because the Fitz’s radar had failed. It was there one moment, and then it was gone. The SS Arthur M Anderson sails to this day….

There are hundreds of videos here on YT you might like! Also 'party san' is another festival in germany with many great bands. I looked up 'wackens 2024'..on YT..at the end of last years..they displayed some bands for this year..wow. Looks like fun!

The Lakes it talks about are the Great Lakes which are more or less on the border between the U'S' and Canada. My Best friend was born and raised in the state of Michigan which borders those lakes and this story and song are so much a part of the folklore up there even today. The ship and her crew are not forgotten. This was a terrific tribute to those poor souls and those who remember.
