    isnt this watch too thick for you?

  • @MidAtlanticTV
    @MidAtlanticTV2 күн бұрын

    As a pure sport watch, it’s OK. If you plan on using it as an all-around watch, I would say it is too big and too thick. That’s why I have a gold dress watch that I wear for those occasions.

    I appreciate the efforts that went into putting this together, thanks. Enjoyed watching. These re-enactors, while not perfect according to the many comments, I think have done a beautiful job. Loved seeing the horses, and since I'm a big fan of American Civil War Cavalry - really enjoyed seeing the sabres and tack, etc. Well done, God bless...

    I put my wife on the waiting list yesterday (2-3 years). Today I realized if we’re going to be going all the way to New Hampshire (we live in Alberta) I may as well get myself on that list too. Can’t believe you had the foresight 9 years ago to shoot in 4K, it’s greatly appreciated in 2024!

    Watching a few of the watch restoration channels - well, it appears that, after around 50 years, the rubber seals turn to crap. So, maybe get a watch serviced every few decades.

    I bought a Seiko 5 from H.samuel, but it's not lasted 2 years before i had to service it. It was lossing time very quickly, they're response was it wasn't covered under servicing, because there was a tiny crack on the face and some how affected the watch balance wheel so my warranty was invalid and my insurance didn't cover it. First and last time im buying Seiko.

    I found a vintage omega from the 50s and sent it for a service to keep it as a family heirloom. Some writing started to disappear from its age, and leaving it like that could permanently damage it. Unless my sportswatch is 15 years old id never service it. And for dress watch any watchmaker can oil it just fine and replace the gaskets

    They are stunning. Of course the promotions have had their effect, for every time you see a Clydesdale, you think of Budweiser. As impressive as they are on the internet, they are even more impressive in person. I got to see them only once almost 50 years ago when I had gone back to school for my Masters at Texas A&M. They were making a visit to Bryan-College Station and the horses actually spent the night on campus as the old horse barn was right in the main part of the campus (since gone with a new one on the west part of the campus). The A in A&M does stand for Agriculture. When you are standing within 10 feet or so of them you realize how huge they are. Most of the horses are 18 hands or a little over at the withers (the top where the neck joins the back) and 18 hands is 6 feet (1 hand is 4"). With their head up the top of the head is about 8 feet off the ground, and they weigh about 2000 pounds each.

    Even as a Unionist, I'd prefer to go to a First Bull Run event than others due to the color variety of the uniforms. Way too fun compared to the more monotonous colors afterwards.
