Drafting a kicker in the 5th round and then cutting his competition early has always worked out for us in the past. /s Seriously, ALWAYS have a Parker Romo or UDFA, etc in the sphere, cut them last and put them or someone else on the practice squad. With the expanded practice squad, never be one deep at anything except punter (where you can avoid punting punting by going for it.)

My guess is that Dexter Lawrence is going to wreak havoc against the Vikings interior offensive line on Week 1. But I think the Vikings defense might be very good. I love the edge/linebacker signings this season even without Danielle Hunter. Vikings 20. Giants 17.

These players have one awesome season, get big pay contracts, then never repeat. They get lazy and avoid being injured to keep the money flowing. Just the common mindset of most of the players, in my opinion, from years of observation

The overall level of talent and experience on the roster is simply not there. They are looking up at the Lions and Packers and one could argue the Bears.

Honestly don't think the Vikings will start McCarthy at all this year. Turner will have a decent year just due to Flores scheme. The big surprise will be if he has any interceptions. He was pretty good in coverage. Darnold will be far better than anyone thinks. I just hope he's consistent.

Unless he is lights out better than anyone else, not starting this year and McCarthy at QB3 is fine. Why is there this push to make him the starter just because he is a first round pick? Look at how the vast majority of 1st round QB's fail when handed the reins too early. Relax.

Both Flores AND Kwesi drafted Khyree Jackson. Both Booth and Evans it was only Kwesi. It will be a preseason battle, but I think Kwesi is willing to move on from both Booth and/or Evans because the coaching situation has changed. I think the defensive draft picks have gotten WAY better since Flores joined the team and I think every time Kwesi talks to Flores he takes diligent notes rather than telling him what to do. If not for Flores dispute with NFL owners, he'd almost certainly be a head coach with a big say over defensive personnel and I think Kwesi fully understands that and respects Flores judgment.

12:00 The Vikings have a kinda brutal schedule. Darnold is the right person to start. If he gets mauled, it isn't his first rodeo. If he has to gut out some tough wins & losses and criticism... he'll be fine. The longer Darnold starts, the better McCarthy will be in my opinion.

I feel like any WR on a team with Justin Jefferson is fighting for targets. JJ is going to get open. And hopefully, KOC takes advantage of that by designing plays that free up WR2, the TE and RB.
