    Makes sense to me. Heat causes rapid evaporation of liquids. In an inclosed proximity, i can just imagine that heat moving through the shortest route out of the concrete, like a bolt of lightning, evaporating the water and drying the concrete, leaving a crack.

    Use fiber in the mix..... Changed the characteristics of the mud when finishing a large flatwork, but won't be a problem on stemwalls. Also, putting the bolts in too late can cause this. Maybe vibrate the mud outside of form again after setting the bolts? A void is the issue whether it's from heat or just the insertion of the bolt itself.🤷🏼 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼

    Put the hooks in while your concrete is fresh and still wet. We had cracking problems before. As soon as we pour and finish the top surface, stick the j hook. If you wait till your starting to cure it has the potential for cracking.idk I work at McDonald's.

    I kept spraying mine with mist an hour after drying for two days, strong as diamonds. You could cover them as well and not let the sun cake the surface while the inside is still soft. I've seen walls get ripped two inches from intense sun heat.

    It should make the concrete set slightly slower (hot bolts made it set faster) than the surrounding material. Soft material around the bolts won’t crack as material hardens around them, or as that material finally sets. I think it will work!

    Big fan - great channel keep up the great work! Question: If a flat roof is less work/lumber and allows more head space in the upper floor or attic without a cathedral ceiling, why aren't modern sloped mono pitch roofs more used in these small adu over garage units or small homes in general? Thx!

    Sometimes code requirements are DAF! Your home is still wood, that might slow the spread but will NOT make your home fireproof.

  • @notspm9157
    @notspm91572 сағат бұрын

    Embers from nearby fires can float by the house and the current will suck in those embers. Once the ember is inside it can get caught on the flammable wood and there you go your house is now on fire. This doesn't make it fireproof but it does decrease the probability of your house catching fire when there are fires around it. Instead embers now have to touch the wood by luck and have enough air to light the wood on fire.
