  i’ve been playing pokémon for 20 years and i have caught exactly 10 naturally occurring shiny pokémon, all of which i’ve caught in the past 5 years. my very first shiny that i caught myself was a shiny carkol in shield in 2019 lmao

  I've actually completed the pokedex in two games, Pokemon Y kinda by accident and then Moon specifically to get the shiny charm. That was actually worth it because I was able to get some pretty cool shinies.

  Trans Icon Mismagius is iconic because I just finished Emerald with a Trans Icon Gardevior. I caught two ralts because I wanted Gallade and Gardevior but then I learned Gallade wasn't in Gen 3 so almost had Trans Gardervior and Gallade gay couple lol

  I really agree with your point about Gen 9. It’s so much fun to play but if/when ur game crashes bc of all the lags n such it’s almost unplayable. Keep up the great content! Imma hunt a turtwig now in legends Arceus

  Okay the game mechanics were fascinating and satisfying knowing you achieved so many of your goals, but omg that elite 4 breakdown was so satisfying 😩 the gameplay is the reason we come back at the end of the day! Poor Clefable could sweep the whole team but that’s what makes it interesting… funny how I say that and then refuse to play iron man style in fire emblem My fav gym leader in DPP is probably Candice or Maylene, but when you brought up how the E4 in this game are pretty irrelevant and uninteresting… it’s so true and I think that’s a shame! Bertha is the only one I know lore about (Agatha’s relative!) but the others don’t appeal much to me. I do like how Flint’s spirit seems to be broken after losing though lol I’m so glad you brought up how it probably wasn’t ILCA’s sole fault that the remakes weren’t great, also they should’ve remade Platinum… I know money matters but I will never agree with 2 versions of these games anymore! I know it’s literally against the spirit of the series, but with how accessible trading and battling are these days, I think one version would be preferable. Platinum remake could’ve been cool… but also I still would’ve lost because I don’t like the art style very much. I always dreamed of a remake that looked like Sun and Moon’s models tbh, and it was a bummer that we didn’t at least get something of Let’s Go’s visual style for BDSP

  Tbh I think I like all of the sinnoh gym leaders, Fantina might be my favourite by virtue of being the pageant queen, but I can at least think of something specific to say for each gym leader. The elite 4 is so forgettable, I find Bertha endearing and I like the Agatha connection but not passionately, and then I love that Flint has a very euro-pop style and is trying to help Volkner work through his slump. They don’t have great content in the adventures manga either, bc that manga has me obsessed with a lot of characters, more than I would be had I not read it. Platinum remake will forever be the dream, but now it’s looking very unlikely, unless we enter an era of rebooting reboots, who knows what they’ll try lmao. I like the art style in BDSP (unpopular, I know) but I do agree that the let’s go games are the strongest visually of the switch games.

  I love videos like this so much! I agree with a lot of your points regarding various mechanics (honestly, you’re the first person I’ve ever seen mention the conflicting nature of disobedience versus the newer friendship mechanics!), but that aside, I adore hearing people’s ethos when it comes to building teams outside of things like type matchups and what’s good for any specific region. Telling a story with a team is something I greatly value with every PT of Pokémon to me. Had a truly great time hearing you talk about your adventure! (Also, as food for thought re: Barry the honey tree truther. As an adult, I wonder if it’s meant to be a sign of his own growth as a trainer and person. Heracross and Munchlax are inherently Pokémon he would have had to take the time to play the honey roulette and wait for, something antithetical to the guy who is always constantly on the move. It’s a fun detail, I think! I didn’t pick up on it before replaying as an adult.)

  I really like the concept of Barry being in a rush all the time but patient enough to catch honey tree Pokémon, especially Munchlax. That feels like the type of decision the devs would make as a joke amongst themselves, but would also go over the fans’ heads despite probably being very intentional. Thanks for listening

  Wrt the design inconsistency, it's really pervasive all across Awakening lol. I've cosplayed and illustrated a bunch of the characters for a long time and like, tiny little details like that are always shifting. Some standouts are Olivia (check out her belt) and Sumia (wtf even is her hair color) off the top of my head. The design inconsistencies are especially noticable in the S Support CGs...also, not sure if this affects this, but iirc while Yusuke Kozaki was the main artist, there was another artist that designed a lot of the basic unit designs.

  i hope school goes well and that you get cool profs!!!! also honestly so real re: the social media stuff, i found that every time i would go onto twitter/tumblr i'd just end up getting mad about people with terrible takes so i've completely stopped using social media and honestly it's crazy how much i don't miss it at all 😭 completely dropping social media isn't necessarily the best option for everyone but honestly it really was for me. i got RSS feeds for some specific art blogs i followed on tumblr and then other than that i just talk to my friends on discord. my friend group made basically channels for everyone, so whenever i need to infodump to no one in particular i just do it there and it's so beautiful... i think everyone should try taking a break from social media just to see how it goes

  Now why’d I agree with everything said here… I’ve been scrolling Twitter nonstop and that was never an issue for me before, I could just look away! But there’s been lots of fandom discourse for various games lately, also politics which 😃 is always so uplifting! I’m DOOMdoomscrolling Also I now get jealous and mad at hot people online, but at the gym I find hot people too so it’s like I can’t win… gay people being jealous of people they want is crazy The food stuff was so real, I’ve been dieting lately but i end up in horrible moods and end up paralyzed because I want to eat some chips or whatever so bad, but I know it’ll be bad for me… but people need to eat lol, I can eat better yes (and I have!) but I think I let in some of those bad influences you were mentioning, it’s very invasive! Hoping all the best for your mental health, for school, for your internet, for your 2k sub special, and everything else 🙏 Also not me being one of the people like “where’s the Raincode/Ignatz/Naruto video” about projects you’ve mentioned in the past… this sylphiemknator will be keeping his mouth CLOSED from now on

  Kellam may be forgotten to time and history in most marriages but in a marriage with Robin, history does remember him as someone who loved his wife very much. It’s a technicality considering that’s the go to line for anyone who marries Robin but it still counts.

  On the art- there are a couple characters where they’re not quite so on model, particularly in face shape. Ingame ports seem to have like, a major grudge against roundness, Cordelia’s face for example is way way sharper in her talking sprite than her official art

  hey one of the Kellam stans here lmao. in my first playthrough I remember pairing him with Olivia bc they're both shy and it was cute but then once I found out that pairing Kellam with female Robin is the ONLY way he gets a good ending I always did that instead. a couple of other things: 1. Kellam's weird armor nipples are even funnier when you consider his village made it for him, either they really didn't really know what they were doing or someone in that village was being weird 2. I figured that Kellam being able to reclass into a priest was because of how he often goes out of his way to help the other Shepherds (sometimes to the point of being self-sacrificing which makes me kinda sad; someone get this man some therapy) 3. the child conversations with their fathers are all pretty much the same but the first time I saw male Morgan talking about how they can't remember their father and then Kellam walked into the room I lost it
