Bruno really just shows up to destroy his clothes for us and run away. Thanks to Grima too for doing that. Reasons I made myself get his Halloween alt XD

This is interesting cuz it feels like they go out of their way sometimes to ignore opportunities for a little male sexualization like the combat artwork for Balthus almost completely covers up his abs like what're you doing

Thank you for advocating for hot men in FEH. Firstly, as part of the female demographic playing FEH, I always feel sad seeing all the men, amazing Fire Emblem men getting shafted mostly into the demote territory despite it being good because it means I spend less orbs on them. But secondly, art department wise, I gotta admit, I don't mind the way most are drawn. It really depends on the characters since if I see my favorite FE men being drawn a certain way, then I'm all for it.

I think there's a new male character being introduced in book 8. You can see a little bit of him in the book 8 promo art but we didn't see him in the trailer 😭 And I think he's drawn by yusuke kozaki who's given really nice art of men with askr and bruno. (Edit: spring alfonse too LOL)

​@@Rafa520_I fear it's cause of marketing reasons. the main target audiences of gatcha games are straight men so Feh always has to have a new female OC to put on the app icon in order to "lure" new unsuspecting players

I love your presentation style! Subscribed. Regarding FEH, I'm bisexual, so I have to admit that the waifu bait can get me sometimes (I am not immune to pretty PNGs haha), but I'm also in the fem demographic and it gets exhausting to see the same women put in the same skimpy clothes over and over. There has been a small uptick in male fanservice (as you mentioned... Hostile Springs Ryoma, Plegian Raphael, and Askr... just Askr. Lol. Oh and Pirate Surtr) come to mind, but it is heavily outweighed by the weight of Camilla's big fat... fan appeal. I've also seen what I would call of a "retroactive waifu-ification" of older female units, such as Catria, Lyn, and Micaiah, which gives them more art and attention, sure, but it poses the same issue I have with Camilla. It strips all of their other character traits, and arguably what even makes them appealing in the first place, away. Camilla in Fates isn't only an "ara ara Onee-san" like FEH wants us to think, she's actually quite vicious and dark and compelling and traumatised, like all the Nohr siblings. She's unforgiving and selfish and unfortunately all of this is forgotten because she's being pushed into a stereotype. I still love FEH - it's one of the only places to get reliable art and content featuring otherwise forgotten entries in the series - and from my experience with (too many) gacha games, it's actually pretty rewarding for F2P. However it has glaring issues, and selling out for unbalanced fanservice is one of them. I'm right there with you, I think all adult characters should be fair game for fanservice, not just women and sometimes men!

Just started playing this game again and I love that all my thoughts on what I immediately noticed were so neatly laid out in this video.

Feh used to be the only gacha game I had genuine fun playing. Sadly the game was becoming increasingly unfriendly to f2p players so I ended up abandoning it. One of my main complains on the game was the lack of male fanservice, seeing Camilla get her 6th alt (btw, did you know she has 10 alts now? The favoritism is insane) was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

I’m unquestionably glad I was getting to that point where excessive fan service was a turnoff, but also that I was cynical about FEH from the start; means my heart wasn’t broken by it.

it's still sorta playable depending on what you're into, like you can do enough to get enough orbs to get some cool units in events, but the power creep is ridiculous sometimes. i fought i think the new Marth and it felt like between all his skills he was impossible to beat unless you had the same Marth :l

am straight man but im always confused as to why they dont do more bara content. Ippei is probably the single most popular artist in FEH and all he does is bara. The former would be easier, we still need guys like Athos and Nomah to even get their base forms in the game still. What an *interesting* look at character. Reminds of a video analysing Lyn’s designs over time. Videos like these aren’t very common to me. Most opinions I see a random remarks in other videos or Twitter.

FACTS.

The Easter character designs are the craziest ones. I played for years until I got rid of my phone. I suppose not a lot of hot men, because hot women appeal more to the "whales". You can absolutely blow on the characters in Fates to "wake them up", very funny to do to husband characters haha.

Also I like to think that yusuke kozaki has some pretty good range in regards to drawing different body types. Like yeah he is responsible for camilla's art in fates, but he also gave us muscular women with nótt and dagr, embla not just being skinny but visibly bony, candace being a very cute fat woman in fates... askr, gustav, and bruno being some very nice muscular men and let's not forget the spring alfonse bulge 😂

Some of the banners are based on regions from other fire emblem games so the sheer banner Raphael and Kris are on is based on Plegia. (The Dark mage kingdom from awakening) so it’s kinda ment to be something like Tharja’s clothes. But for guys haha

Look, I won't lie... I was just waiting for both Dorcas and Kris mentions. Maybe Freddy too but that's a big personal bias as someone who married him in their first Awakening playthrough. Though, yeah, the Dorcas and Kris alts are 100% on opposite sides of my spectrum of preference but with equal magnitude of attraction (well, kinda, because I will not be the homewrecker to rid Dorcas of his wife, but I can still dream).

I paired up s!shez with s!ephraim last year bc theyre the only males that we got on those summer banners😢, but yeah, more abs and male buts please intelligent systems, or more men in general really😌

I love Xander, and tbh when I got Summer Xander I laughed at the almost comedic shortness of his swim trunks. I’ve also seen some spicy edits of some of the regular art and the damage art that got me like 😳😳😳 Also the fact that Plegia Raphael is the only version of Raphael is hilarious and I will take it. I love my men big.

At least Camilla is canonically busty and that's basically her entire character. Though giving every female character Camilla-sized breasts is so concerning. The one that irks me the most is Summer Byleth and Rhea duo. Like why are the mother-daughter duo having their tiddies out with thongs? Byleth isn't even that busty with C cups at most, but then she's got double Ds during the summer.

That Camilla is the "standard" for sex appeal thus why most units are getting turned into a "Camilla" in terms of body type. Oof. I know what you mean, too. I have the same summon unit and I've used Summer Byleth a bit in the past. It's kinda in your face when you're using them. Yeah FemByleth isn't mega busty either. Her smash and Houses/Hopes model isn't even like that. I don't think Rhea is either??? Thicc most probably but not busty.

A bit of brutal honesty here, but if you want to know why they don't sexualize men as much as women then look no further than the banner sales. When they do give you what you want it comes at the cost. The space that that male male character takes up could have been taken by female character that would make twice the amount as a male character. It's one thing to say that you'd like a male character and it's another thing completely to be willing to spend money on them. You yourself made it clear, you don't play FEH you are the former group therefore the FEH devs don't feel the need to cater to your preferences because well you aren't a customer. The true reason why they avoid giving male avatars summer alts and Leggos is because they know that they won't sell and there aren't many male characters that will do well on a banner. And this is the truth as both MByleth and MRobin had terrible banner sales for their Legendaries and that was in spite of them being meta defining. The second one being especially egregious because he actually won CYL for that year.

I always thought Devotion Hector and uĥ... Brave Hector? Real gave off "THIS A MAYUN!" Energy. Like damn...
