I've loved chess for over 25 YEARS! I have my high school's record for MOST CHESS WINS (and most chess losses...), 12,000+ games on Chess.com, and a respectable rating that hovers between 1900 and 2000.
I have some strong opinions about the game:
1.) It should first and foremost be FUN!
2.) Losing is fine, especially when your opponent completely DESTROYS - it hurts but is cool to see.
3.) MEMORIZATION = BORING!! You'll see easily digestible ideas/concepts (read as SHORTCUTS) to help you not study a ton, but still see improvement.
If you're still reading this, then you should probably have hit the Subscribe button already....
Chess is expressive. I love the game. Enjoy.

Thanks for explaining endgames in such a simple way.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment :)
Interesting situations, but he can't explain very good (though no queston he is a much better chess player than me). I listened to other people who pointed out much better the importance that the king who first moves out of opposition loses. I think this video lacks the introduce the abstract key principle to win, and THEN all the practical moves should follow. I guess that's also why he sounds unsure if his messages really reached the audience.
I appreciate the feedback MJ! I'm working on improving for each video, and this is very helpful. I went deeper into Opposition in this video (main opposition content starts at 0:45) : 2.) Opposition Deep Dive: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m32kj5KifrmYd7A.htmlsi=faeNsBDY4644oAl0
Very helpful

Wonderful Ideas simplified for us!
Glad you like them! Have to make it as simple as possible - chess is hard enough!
I need these lessons thank you!

I am sorry but the best part of it was mentioned by Anish Giri in a stream and Hans neimann in chessbase india round 12 stream, Gukesh said in the last press conference that the moment he lost to Firouzya, he knew he was capable of winning. He had that fire again in him to do his best. Hans also said that it was the moment Hans knew that Gukesh was going to win and Hans said this 4 days before Gukesh won. Anish said that its a special and rare quality to be happy and excited after losing.
I hadn't seen that - thanks for sharing! I can't wait for the WCC now!
Solid chess cave.
I like your style!
Thank you! Cheers!
I really like your content and you deserve way more subs and views
Really glad you're enjoying it! All that stuff will come if it's supposed to; it's fun sharing my chess obsession with you
That was awesome! Really like your pace. Background reminds me of my childhood treehouse sz
Nice! I didn't know I'd be looping in treehouse nostalgia:)
you just earned a sub, keep up the good work m8!
Thanks!
Great vid! Keep up the good content
Thanks! Will do!
Awesome video with great info. Keep it up!
Thanks :)
Very instructive content!💪 Without trying to be offensive, I feel the video would be better without the background music. Once again your analysis style and break down of the game is instructive and excellent! Thank you.
I really appreciate the feedback! I had a similar comment a couple months ago and New videos have intro music only (not during analysis). The comments really help me improve these videos :)
Very recently found your channel. I really appreciate how you simplify and explain these concepts. Great work.
Awesome, thank you!
I Appreciate The Chess Advice, However; What's The Name of The Music at The Start of This Video ? Thanks in Advance.
I'm looking trying to find! It's from Epidemic Sound, I need to bust out my external hard drive to find the name.
Nice video

You are welcome! I hope it's what you were seeking!
I am so excited to have found a chess channel reusing not only the set but also the sound effects collection from a horror flic! Nice of the chess instructor to dress up as cast as well! What a great idea!
Lol which one are you talking about? I can watch it and lean in
I’ve studying theory for years. Trying to memorize positions. But, I’m realizing now it was all pure memorization and I didn’t understand the concepts for the moves. These concepts help so much. I’ve never had things explained like this and I’ve been trying to learn chess for 3 months.
Glad these help! Best of luck with your chess game!
Hey, awesome channel you have here. Concise, incisive tips... Glad I subscribed, eager tob see the channel grow!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it- I'll keep it coming :)
@@PillagingPony awesome....let's get it!!!
Thanks for this. I was scared of the PIRC for a while because people say it’s really theoretical but have recently started using it again and am having a lot of fun. I’ve also found a great book: ‘Tactics in the King’s Indian’ by Gennady Nesis. Here are some quotes from that book: ‘Instead of death in the centre - death to the centre!' The idea is for Black to combat White's pawn centre with piece pressure, supported by timely counter-thrusts from pawns. Those who champion the King's Indian Defence (although they do not consider it a defence, but an attack) continue to debate whether they should immediately strike against White's centre with pawns, or whether it is more promising to attack it from a distance with pieces. Players of White in this opening have to resolve another eternal' problem: should they close the centre immediately, or is it more beneficial to maintain the tension as long as possible? […] As will also become clear from the annotations to the games we have selected, play in the King's Indian is often sharp and forced, and it demands exceptionally accurate and dynamic handling from both sides. Furthermore, the need to combine a forceful attack with rational defensive measures adds to the complexity of play. All of this increases the importance of the various tactical tricks which may be employed during the opening and, especially, during the transition to the middlegame. […] we came to the conclusion that tactical ideas, rather than variations pure and simple, are the most important factor when it comes to understanding the King's Indian Defence. In fact, tactics are the life-blood of the King's Indian player, and we have therefore analysed 35 games in which characteristic tactical concepts are particularly well illustrated.’
Thanks for the note and sharing these quotes! I definitely consider the Pirc an attack more than a defense, and there are common tactical ideas without memorizing lines. Makes it fun instead of being destroyed by an 18 move deep line in the Spanish :)
Thank you My Name is Earl, very entertaining and informative, you earned yourself a new subscriber. Predictions for the Candidates next week?
Thanks, Earl! I'm Adam. Hard question for sure. To win, you have to (generally) take lots of risks and get 3 or 4 wins without a loss. I like Ian or Hikaru for that, but my heart wants Pragg. Round 1 snooze fest though. My 3 favs all have black. Do you have a prediction?
Man my game is that I'm black and my opponent is white, I sacrificed my knight to reveal an attack of a queen.
Chess welcomes all!
Hey man this was a great video!
Glad you liked it! :)
Keep doing what you're doing
Thanks :) Will do!
Nice examples....
Thank you! 😃
9:22 I was sensing some trouble like that was possible. I was like why the hell are you moving your king to the queenside? It's unnecessary and it is also dangerous because pawns alone are poor defenders of your king.
I was trying to create my own immortal game :) Good call!
Who are these two fine lookin’ fellas
Thanks again for reaching out on this. Hope to do another one soon
@@PillagingPony yes let’s do more! I enjoyed this
holy moly that blitz winsrteak is crazy, congrats bro
Appreciate it! It's definitely better than being on the opposite extreme :)
@@PillagingPony I think we all know too much about that
Trump did not build the wall. The main thing he ran on, he did not complete.
Sorry wrong video. This video is about 2010.
Really Wowwww content sir...!!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)
This is awesome
Please make more video about pawns!
Will do!
Very informative video. Thank you.
Very welcome :)
I don’t know enough about chess yet to have played along but I feel like this is a rad concept!
Glad you enjoyed the experiment! I'd say chess evaluation is something that follows just finding the best move. If you find the best move, you will will, and the evaluation doesn't matter :)
Great video! Also, you look like Aaron Rodgers' stunt double in the thumbnail lol
Haha. I got tired of selling the Discount Double Check so decided to start this YT Channel :)
Bro's kool and he got a new sub 😁
Great! Phat! Welcome to the channel!
