Simplifying Pawn Structure: My Key to More Chess Wins
Ойын-сауық
My chess ELO really started climbing once I understood pawn structure, how to exploit weak squares, and how pawns fit into broader chess strategy. NEW TO CHESS?! I also reveal my most important concept for beginners to understand related to pawns.
This is part 2 of 3 of my pawn rankings where I reveal the most important concepts to understand related to pawns (in my humble, non-grandmaster opinion...). My approach to chess is about simplifying the game, giving mental shortcuts, while keeping a very fun and entertaining game (i.e. I ain't memorizing!).
Part 1 was about Backwards Pawns: • Chess Strategy: How Ba...
Part 3 will reveal the last 4 concepts: • Doubled Pawns: Chess W...

I am so excited to have found a chess channel reusing not only the set but also the sound effects collection from a horror flic! Nice of the chess instructor to dress up as cast as well! What a great idea!

Lol which one are you talking about? I can watch it and lean in
As a beginner, this video was extremely helpful. I’ve watched lots of chess videos online but this one is really straightforward and to the point. You have a good way of explaining stuff. I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos!

I'm glad you liked it, Ty! I really appreciate the comment, too :)
I’ve studying theory for years. Trying to memorize positions. But, I’m realizing now it was all pure memorization and I didn’t understand the concepts for the moves. These concepts help so much. I’ve never had things explained like this and I’ve been trying to learn chess for 3 months.

Thank you My Name is Earl, very entertaining and informative, you earned yourself a new subscriber. Predictions for the Candidates next week?

Thanks, Earl! I'm Adam. Hard question for sure. To win, you have to (generally) take lots of risks and get 3 or 4 wins without a loss. I like Ian or Hikaru for that, but my heart wants Pragg. Round 1 snooze fest though. My 3 favs all have black. Do you have a prediction?
I Appreciate The Chess Advice, However; What's The Name of The Music at The Start of This Video ? Thanks in Advance.

I'm looking trying to find! It's from Epidemic Sound, I need to bust out my external hard drive to find the name.
9:22 I was sensing some trouble like that was possible. I was like why the hell are you moving your king to the queenside? It's unnecessary and it is also dangerous because pawns alone are poor defenders of your king.

Can you play with your subscribers once or twice a week at a certain time as one of the perks of your channel. It may help if you want to get your channel off the ground at this point.
