    Dumbest review of a rekluse yet. You can totally adjust the springs to engage immediately if you want. You obviously didn't do that. There are also many other benefits beyond stalking. If you ride very technical rocky trails it will save your clutch hand from major fatigue which we all want to avoid. Is the rekluse for everyone? No it's not. But your complaints could have been adjusted out of you knew what you were doing. But instead you post a video while your driving? Wow

    At the end of a 2 race and you are tired and prone to mistakes they are worth their weight in gold. If you match your exp springs and idle speed correctly you can make it run any way to want. I have been running them since the original z-start i used in 2006. Have bought at least a dozen units from 125 YZ's to 450 KTM's They are the ticket for dead engine start XC races and let you run a gear higher in most situations

    You can still use the clutch To to blip. Set your rekluse to drag at idle with out stalling and use your clutch as you would normally. I love mine with no clutch and rear hand brake. Yes there is give and take. I started in 03 YZ 450 super tall first. Turned in to a trail beast. Now on a 21 500 xcf-w. My buddy same bike is stock and he does great on it but every so often wines about finger fatigue.

    By slipping clutch lever adding throttle the aggressive clutch addition, you can pop the front wheel over a log, just like a regular clutch, its not exactly the same, but once you get used to it it still works. Practice not excuses, the real problem with the auto clutch, is after a few hours of used they tend to change feel during a tuff race. And if you race in real rough stuff they can get hot. Generally speaking for slow woods riding with some real rough sections you can beat 'em. So dont pander, dont be biased, run your track 5 laps on stop watch then put a rekluse in, do some warm up laps then do 5 more laps let the stop watch do the judging. Jmo

My throttle hits hard immediately. Watch this video of me in deep sand. I didn't touch the clutch the entire time in this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/d6mT2NCSg8rZetI.html

    Just my $0.02. Fundamental clutch skills are mandatory EVEN IF you have a Rekluse. You still need to be able to pop the clutch for obstacles. Or slip the clutch to maximize power. But where the Rekluse truly shines is super rocky nasty slippery terrain where you can just ease the throttle and find all the traction that is just a very difficult skill with a manual clutch that gets tiring.

  • @onthethrottle7104

    @@dtbk9557 You can but there is a pin you have to engage to bump start. Also, to pop the front end of your bike you should always blip the clutch to do that, so the Recluse acts as if it's not there when blipping the clutch, so I don't know why you would want to just pop the front end up without the blip of the clutch. Maybe you're more of a beginner?

    Your point is well taken on the 250’s, 300’s and 350’s. But the 450’s and 500’s can be a handful on single track or in the woods. The way the Rekluse auto clutch absorbs some of the initial hit actually helps to make these big bikes more manageable in the tight stuff. I see it as a benefit.

    I really would like to try one on my 2001 KTM 200exc (the 2001 was the most violent potent engine ever designed for the 200 line). I have upgraded the bikes suspension with a properly shortened brand new 2019 WP AER48 fork, installed a 2007 PDS 5018 rear shock assembly from a 2007 KTM 250SX-F, and even upgraded the chassis to a 2003 200sx (So, I was able to run 2007 plastics, EE Soft seat etc). Long story short, I like the bike. I know that @PNWEnduro 's daughter uses a Rekluse in her KTM 150, and she does pretty great on PNW/BC goat trail.

    2017 300 XCW here. 263 hours, Rekluse Core EXP 3.0 I believe it depends on what kind of riding you are doing. The lag or soft come on of power is free traction control really. If you are doing hard single track, not hard enduro, I feel its perfect. Its like a free flywheel weight. And no violent CHOP CHOP HIT HIT of idle. If i was doing faster motocross style stuff in dry weather then i want that Hit. If that makes sense.

    At 63 I still enter several enduro events up here in North Eastern Ontario every riding season. After 40 years of working with my hands as a contractor I need all the help I can get with my two cable clutched Yamaha WR 450’s. With arthritis starting to creep into my finger joints, it makes me wonder if indeed the Rekluse was a (necessity is the mother of invention) design by another old fart like me. On tight single track it is a revelation. I guess if I had a fancy “orange” bike with a hydraulic clutch I might not need a Rekluse but on my WR’s I wouldn’t have it any other way. Cheers!

    If anything it acts to add quality to your riding. At the end of a 40 to 70 mile day of steep and deep you are not as fatigued. Reving, slipping and slamming the the clutch and you can accomplish the things you say the rekluse doesn't provide. To me the benefits FAR outweigh any down side you may encounter. That is just my assessment. Safe riding!

    The value that any rider will find in a Rekluse auto-clutch is directly proportional to the percentage of super slow, super technical, gnarly, nasty terrain that they normally ride in. The tougher the terrain, the more valuable the Rekluse is. Also, as you guys get older, you might find that your clutch fingers start to cramp up...

    I found the Rekluse auto clutch really suited my 350 EXC very well. Yes, it eliminated the stalling in the very tight, gnarly stuff - but it also allowed me to more easily run taller gearing required for real dual-sport use. The "delay" that you speak of can be easily overcome, if you really need that hit - by using the clutch lever to spin up the motor a bit - but it is extra effort. I feel that auto-clutches are better suited to the 4-strokes - than the 2-strokes - but there could be circumstances where they suit a big bore 2-stroke well - such as running very tall gearing for extended street use. I doubt that I would never consider one for a small bore 2-stroke unless I were trying to create a training/beginner bike. It took me a long time to get used to the auto-clutch in my 350, and I had to adapt my riding style - but once I did, I don't think that I could ever go back to a manual setup on it. Newer 4-strokes are just so snappy and jerky down at super low RPM, that the auto clutch tames them really well. I have tried an older style "Z-Start" auto clutch on a KTM 300 2-stroke - and I did not like it at all in that application. At very high revs, I could not pull in the clutch lever with that style of auto-clutch.

  • @dtbk9557
    @dtbk95572 жыл бұрын

    Yeah lots of people have been talking about them on a 4 stroke. I can see how it would be nice! To me having a Rekluse only made me feel disconnected with the bike (given I ride only a 2 stroke). It helped for my wrist injury, but now that i'm healed, I don't want to go back to the Rekluse

  • @clintonlied

    Many people who buy 450 mx bikes for the woods, because they are cheap on ebay/marketplace/craigslist/backpages later find that their bikes are monsters and not suited for any woods or trail riding; however, once they install a Rekluse Auto Clutch, they find that they like them. Then they install a Fly-wheel weight, and find that they like the bike even more.
