Such a colorfull basket. Yesterday i had my first basket. I love it!🎉
We have golden raspberries and we don't get any as our daughter feeds them all to the ducks
How exciting! That's epic 😊
I’m excited to see the progress of your new flower farm. Something like a climbing rose on the back of your shed would look beautiful!
Hi. Thankyou for taking us along your plot, it's looking very good. Nice little e harvest. Do you roast or steam your veggies? They say roasted turnips are delish, although it depends on taste really.
Lovely to see you smiling and finding the joy in the garden. I think one of the most fun things about gardening is trying veggies etc you haven't before. Best case scenario you have a new food you like... worst case scenario you've got more material to go on the compost and help future crops.
One possibility for the nerdy compost-fixated gardener (me!) is to dig up the grass, weeds etc and stick them in the compost bin. I buy tons of compost too but I figure it's an investment in my soil😂
Are you leaving your dahlias in the soil over Winter. I'm in Sheffield and I think(!!!!) I am going to and pile soil, shredded cardboard and hay/straw over the top of them.❤ #LazyYorkie❤
Yeay🎉

You have a green thumb ❤.
Wow, the allotment looks so barren in this vlog. Again... shows just how much work you've put into it.
Nice sharing.
Lovely seedlings.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the new plot in full bloom... and the before and after shots (which I'm sure will be amazing!). I did some weeding today and I can give you some (really pretty obvious advice to smart people)... don't do chop and drop with rose bushes. I thought it would be all nice to just drop the cut pieces into the garden bed... let them rot down. They don't rot down that quickly and I forget they are there... when grabbing at some weeds to pull out... thorns can be quite nasty! I'm sure you're smart enough to avoid that... it's just nonces like me who make that mistake. I think your cardboard covering is very similar to the way many people do it which is cover the whole area then cut hole into the cardboard and plant through that... should be about the same result... it looks lovely either way. A quick search for owl names suggested "Owl Pacino" which I quite like ;)
Have you tried local honey for your hay fever? I have eaten some from some locally and its really helped me, not sure if its a placebo tbh lol, but I do feel a lot better in the sunny days and not so sniffily.
Sam has honey from a local farm so I could try it! It makes sense to me
Good work, you made that bed quickly, I like your thinking . I’m a bit boring I like Ollie for the owl . 🦉
Thank you! Hehe 🦉🦉
Owl Pacino 😂 I love the plot extension and cannot wait to see the flowers for your wedding next year. It’s going to look amazing. I’d like more cutting flowers next year I think. It’s such a joy to harvest your own bouquets and bunches of flowers are extortionate at the moment to buy anyway .. so a fab idea.
My winner for the name contest for sure 😂 I’ve really started to enjoy them this year in the garden - I wish I’d had as much motivation to put them in the plot too😂 it’s all learning!
@@HouseOfTedYT ha.. I love that you loved it too 😂 I have spent more time dead heading flowers on the vegetable garden than I have in the proper garden. How can this be? 😂 I love them though. They really brighten up the “workspace” of our plots. Such a joy I’m so looking forward to seeing it, quite literally blossom 🥰
I love your plot expansion. ❤
Thank you!! 🦉
Love Pedro lol - wonder who you named him after 😜 Ozzy Owl? Xx
But ozzy the onion is the only ozzy on the plot 🤷🏼♀️

😂 hello Hooty 🦉, earn your keep now. Flower bed will be a lovely addition Emma. Wow what a great deal on the dahlias 👍. Happy growing, Ali 🌤️🇨🇦
Hooty! Adorable 🦉 thank you!!
Great progress Emma .Do you really need edging on the flower beds ? Just add handfuls of chicken pellets to the beds and when you plant out plant the seedlings with a handful of multi purpose each .Much cheaper than covering the whole beds .I grow on rock hard clay and it's amazing how fast the soil loosens up using this method after a year or so 🙂
Since I’ve made the beds I actually think they do look nice without wooden sides! I will see how I feel when most of the beds are in. Thanks for the advice! 🧡👩🌾
While preparing garden beds for next year, look into 6x fibrous manure. I can't articulate just how good it is.
Ooo interesting! I’ll take note - thank you! 🐸👩🌾
Good work, I enjoyed the vid ❤
Thank you !👩🌾

If I'm feeling a little indulgent, I sprinkle a bit of Parmesan cheese on the outside of the toastie and let it cook on... adds a nice little extra bit of flavour.
Sam sometimes does a layer of cheese on the outside - the real winner is a bit of sweet chilli jam to dip in 😁
That Echinacea looks very strong, lovely thick stems. I've actually got some Delphinium seeds in front of me here "Pacific Giants" apparently... I think it's too cold here for me to try starting them yet... but I do look forward to them adding some more height around the garden. Quick question re the blood donation... what's it like after donating ie can you drive home etc? I'm open to donating but a bit nervy about it (I was excluded from being able to for a long time as we spent a year in England in 1982 when the creutzfeldt-jakob disease was about... but that restriction has been lifted now).
I sowed the exact same delphiniums yesterday! According to the packet I’m a bit late but they were only cheap so giving it a go anyway 🤞🏻 in the UK you can drive and do everything like normal as far as I know! Sam was just told no extreme sports and to take it easy in the sun ☀️🧡
Oh my gosh a girl after my own heart! Garden centres are definitely an addiction lol. If we don't drive on, I'm in big trouble always. The flowers are gorgeous!!
Hahah they are my happy place! If I won the lottery the local garden centre would definitely know about it 😂👩🌾
Oh nice surprise vlog , flowers are lovely .
Thank you! 🌸
Good vlog again guys. You would love near where I stay. There is an area called the Clyde valley. It is full of garden centres and lovely scenic walks. You would be bankrupt if you visited here as there is so much choice😂😂💜
Oh amazing! Yeah Sam would definitely have words if he saw the bank balance 😂😂🌸
Lovely
🥺🐸
Oh love astilbe and yes they get big 🎉, I got a dark leaf one the other day. Are you getting garden gift cards as all your wedding presents 😅😅. Great choices have fun, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Still looking for a bright pink variety! I’m sure I’ll find one 😁 haha we got B&Q voucher for our engagement - which will be mostly going on plants 😂🌸

i WOULD ASK THE NEIGHBOR IF HE USED WEED KILLER, and see how they respond, if they are ugly just say i will treat you exactly like you treat me- do you understand me? People will only treat you the way let them. im not in the UK, SO I DONT KNOW OR UNDERSTAND Uk laws so do what is best for you.
I think some people on site do use weed killer - not great but not much I can do about it as there’s no rules against it 😬
@@HouseOfTedYT round-up has been proved to cause cancer
Yep.. I’m very anti weed killer and organic all the way 🥲

You could have done white chocolate and raspberry :D Apparently there's a thing called "weaponised incompetence"... I suspect that's a bit harsh... I think the trick is, as a couple you figure out what each of your strengths are and work with those. I'm a terrible do nothing person... well... mostly. I'm a full time carer for my wife and stay at home dad for my children so there's making sure they are all doing ok... making dinner and trying to make the garden look nice and be productive (that's new to me... I've only really been getting into it over the last three or four years). Occasionally I get inspired and do projects (and often don't finish them). I have a home made arcade machine (emulator powered)... that's basically complete though it would be nice to have a flashy marquee thingie on the top. I have a 3D printer I designed which is close to finished but needs some work. I have the projector which is also close to finished (at least this version... might need to upgrade to proper 4K... it's only 2K and needs to be run through a PC to turn the screen the right way around)... other bits and pieces... my sound booth needs work too.
I’ve mentioned weaponised incompetence to Sam before but he promises me he’s genuinely just bad at some things 😂 we have our strengths - he does the cars, lawn, diy and makes amazing meatballs 😂🌸
Top Emma bloems thans te vlog Good week 💐👌🌤🪁🦋
It's always good to "give peas a chance" :D (sorry... it's been a long day). I shouldn't have said anything about pronunciation of couch grass... pronounce it however you want... but bravo to Sam for pulling that out... it is tough stuff. Chaos is always lovely when it's with lovely people.
Haha I think it’s a dialect thing - no idea 😂
Chaos is normal isn't it , jealous of your cosmos mine haven't got buds yet, but courgette is brilliant. Great vlog as usual .
Gardening chaos is always a thing at our plot 😂 thank you!! 🧡
Life IS chaos with moments of terror, moments of turpitude and hopefully ... tomatoes❤😂 chilled in Sheffield
Haha the chaos will be worth it if we get any tomato’s 😂🧡
As they said in jaws “Your gonna need a bigger boat aka greenhouse” 😂😂. Harvests look fab Emma. Looks like we may get rain for the first time in weeks and weeks but I’m not holding my breath. Have a great day, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Haha I’ve been looking longingly at the huge poly tunnels 😂 you too!!! 🧡
Love your channel and your chatty natural style. Looking forward to seeing you develop the new plot. Chaos reigns everywhere in the country at the moment. It feels like Autumn and Summer passed us by as everything is behind. I’m in Devon but family in Derby and Notts say it’s the same. Every season is different.
Thank you so much! Yeah it seems like the weather is very confused this year 🥲
