Being from Essex, I mainly walk and explore in East Anglia and the South East of England.
I want to showcase and document the many hidden gems of this corner of the country, especially my home county of Essex, as it gets a bit of a bad reputation! There's more to offer than just The Only Way Is Essex! It has the 2nd longest coastline in the country, to name just one accolade!
I began walking and wild camping on my own and as the channel has progressed, I have been joined by other channels, subscribers and friends.

Great to see the smugglers caves Tom.. You managed to get a good pitch in the shelter of those caves. Cider sounded top notch. Well said about only going out if you feel you have the gear and it's safe enough to do so. Great vid as usual Tom ....😊

You guys are fab! Watching this in June 24 which feels more like Autumn! Love all your decorations, ghostly stories and all the effort you put in ( even in the pouring rain)and your telling us about the local history. That spicy cider sounds the business! Thanks. This was a last minute choice this story and location and it turned out to be one my best and possibly my favourite Halloween camp I've ever done.

Another comment, your spag bol.... Do you thing it might have been the oregano in it? It can be really astringent and taste like paint thinner... Think oregano oil and how much that burns your mouth.
Could be. But this didn't have an appetising taste at all. It didn't taste natural, just a metallic taste from the packaging. I've had ones since and they were fine.
Looking at the Klymit mats at the moment for an October trip to Northumberland. May take my chances and go for the uninsulated one, and use in combo a with sheet of double sided foil bubble insulation I have. What you reckon?
Depends on how warm you sleep mate. I wouldn't risk it, get the insulated one and use it with a foil foam mat just to make sure .
Firle and the SDW are on my doorstep now, although born in Lyon C!

Brilliant tent. I got mine around the turn of the millennium and it's still going strong. I was out in it all this bank holiday weekend and it kept me snug and dry despite the rain.

Both! For different reasons. I'd never sell either. I actually had the RAB first and then recently got a salamander.
Well done for fund raising Tom. Its awful that there is not enough support for those who have suffered after active service. Fantastic island views, though sadly not equalled by the cider🥴. Better luck next time! The Coastguard were probably just checking that all was OK. They have no right to move you on, unless they were informing you of an unexpected danger. Thanks for watching, I agree. Was watching the D day 80 celebrations and those veterans are national treasures as are any veterans. We need to care for them more. No one should have to go to war and fight. But unfortunately sometimes it can't be avoided. I'm going back to IOW end of month for a holiday with Dawn. Campsite camping and sightseeing. Maybe some walking. Scout out some wild camp spots for when we return again to do the coastal path. Apart from the extortionate ferry prices I love it there. Those ciders were AWFUL! 🤣

You two make such entertaining videos! Glad you found a tent shaped bush to camp in front of! Primula cheese spread, didnt know they still made it! Lovely views of the Downs and you always tell some interesting stories about houses and places you see. Thanks to you and Dawn for making such a lovely and entertaining video.😊

Hi Tom, my name is Simon, I grew up in Tendring very very close to that bunker. In fact me and my friends were the first people to break it open! I'm almost certain the first since it was sealed after MOD stopped using it. I was looking hard for my fathers hinge repairs on the hatch but the screws which fix the hatch to the hinge pivot were hidden behind the rim when its open. The silver grafiti was me after I hit my head rather hard on the concrete. There was more on the exterior which thankfully seems to have been removed naturally or otherwise. I have to apologise for my younger self. We used it as a den for a while, truly any young boys dream to have a nuclear fallout shelter as a den haha! My father came to see it once and took many photos which we still have somewhere on his PC of it in near mint condition. Eventually the police (*******) came and told us not to go there so we had to leave it. Shortly afterwards it went up for sale I believe and was bought privately. A new lock was placed on it but that didnt last long. You see as part of our claiming of a piece of MOD property we de-vegetated the brambles with sticks, making it much more conspicuous. I think it might have been professionally de-vegetated after it sold to? Anyway....your video proves people have since gone back there and trashed the place. I am 30 years old now, so that was almost two decades ago. IDK how to offer on here without it being deleted....?
