WALKING AND WILD CAMPING ON THE SUFFOLK COAST PATH | PART 6: ORFORD TO SHINGLE STREET

Welcome back to Suffolk and it's magnificent coastline for Part 6 of the Suffolk Coast Path, 60 miles from Lowestoft to Landguard Fort in Felixstowe! I was joined by Dawn (her first ever multiple day trip) for this week long trip, wild camping where possible along the coast. We purchased a new tent especially for this walk, the OEX Phoxx II V2. We sampled local ciders, beers and food along the way and explored the rich history and war time ruins dotted along the coast.
Hope you enjoy joining us on this cracking little adventure, thanks for watching and supporting the channel. If you haven't subscribed already, it'd be awesome if you could, it helps get the channel promoted more on here and gets me closer to that elusive 10000 subs milestone! A like of the video and a nice comment wouldn't go amiss either! Enough of that. Cheers!

There are places where it is possible and free of charge but you'd need to find somewhere out of the way. Some areas are either locked up or police patrolled. I often see a lot of van lifers and boondockers so it must be possible.

Lol Tom… this series gets better the closer you get to Essex ❤😂. I loved the picture at 11.20… that sums up your channel for me 👌 I hope Dawn’s recovered from those bites: they looked nasty…😮

Glad you enjoyed it! We've also recently done the stour and Orwell walk from felixstowe to cattawade so even closer to Essex! Was that the bit where Dawn is walking along the beach at shingle street with the union jack flying at half mast? That was the week the queen had passed away. Oddly enough the first time I did the coast path, my dog max had just passed away.

@@TOM_OUTDOORS Yes Tom that was the bit… the light, scenery, open spaces and quirky Britishness thrown in for good measure 🤩 I didn’t realise the flag was half mast for a reason, I thought it had just slid down the pole 😉. RIP Max and HRH 🙏

Good vid but where was the cider? Did you really forget to bring some?

  • @TOM_OUTDOORS

Nope I deliberately didn't bring any because it was a long distance walk over multiple days and pack weight was a priority. Ciders are too heavy to carry. If we found a pub along the way we'd stop for a cider but if we didn't like on this section it was no big deal.

What tent pegs did you use in the shingle?

  • @TOM_OUTDOORS

Used a mixture of regular shepherd's hook aluminium stakes that came with the tent and sand stakes.

These videos are from last September when I didn't have a go pro and I filmed on my phone. I've been posting a video from the walk one at a time.
