  I prefer to look at it like this: There's competition and then there's resonance. Those top affliates are active streamers. Those top partners are SUPER active streamers. Not just the streaming part but offline editing, online research(data collection), fan interaction, etc. They're basically the serious ones that treat this hobby like a full time job. They're also the ones more prone to catching random sponsorship offers and way more viewership. Not that any of this matters because some of us are happy just streaming to a small collection of people once a week or something. Not everyone is in competition with one another. Everyone has their own reasons to stream and their own ideas on what that looks like, the pace, everything. From outside the looking glass, every single one of these types amounts to some level of streaming experience, which is important. Treat them well.

  4k at 244 FPS..... My SSD is looking at me and going like do I look like a NAS to you? I am getting into video editing and the biggest thing that shocked me is the storage requirements

  This is a very nice tool and you just saved me a whole lot of money :) Was looking at a prompter or a little additional screen to keep the chat close to my cam. But this works just as well and costs nothing :D

  Pay like $15 more right now and you can get the Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme 3, allowing for VRR, 4K30 recording with 4K60 passthrough and 1440p60 capture. It's worth paying a little extra to get so much more.

  Random question. Do you know if the API would allow for creating markers in the past. Like telling it to create a marker 15 minutes ago, or 20 minutes into a recording?

  What if you had only a device that took a single USB input. No mics, no nada except a single USB cable. I see it as a useless piece of plastic leaving me with a disconnected XLR microphone.

  It’s a controller, not an audio interface. By that logic, your keyboard is also a useless piece of plastic that doesn’t support your xlr microphone

  The NZXT HD60? Go for it. 35ish ms of latency means single player games and some online ones can be played on PC. And with content at 1080p60 recording & streaming, ur really not going wrong. Just make sure ur PC meets the required specs of the HD60 :)

  I have an XR1 Lite and while I’m not the expert here like you, I throughly enjoy it and recommend it! Good alternative to this it seems.

  My experience with this card has been terrible. Every time I try to record from the PS5, I don't know what I'm going to get. I go from clicks, pops and sound fades to outright sloggy sound and Avermedia has been worthless in trying to help me with this problem. At this point I'll never buy another Avermedia product.

  I got the 4k Pro, maybe I got the wrong card. I cannot put it to passthrough 4k120 and capture 4k60 in OBS which was my intended use. It's outputting only 1080p in the properties, I think that is what you meant in 5:40. Will the 4K X be able to output 4k60 in OBS while passing 4k120? I dont want to buy it wrong again 😭

  4K Pro cannot do that, the 4K X can.

  I've been debating upgrading from my older style Blue Yeti to the Sennheiser Profile mainly bc I just want a plug and play mic that sounds good/great for gaming/discord/zoom/etc. What I'm stuck on is whether or not the expense will be worth it. I have an arm, my room is semi treated but still has some echo (2 screens, large desk). Has anyone made a leap from a Yeti to Profile and have insight?

  do you have a video already about how to setup OBS for a 4k60 PCIE card? Looking to know the video settings what to have as main video encoding setting and the P1-P6 settings on what any of that means and what to use. I have a EVGA 3080 12GB GPU card with AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU with 32GB Ram running Windows 11

  He released a video (or so) on OBS settings a while ago.Try search up "OBS best settings EposVox" and browse through. Idk if he covered these things in the same video but iirc I've seen him cover capture card settings, presets, mic settings, just the basics What were u planning to stream through the card? (4070S better tho lol)

  I find OBS runs bad with crashes and lag using the vertical but Streamlabs runs fine

  In settings you also can use a newer and better compression algorithm to have more results. I think you are using the very older because of the dual core usage. Is the same algorithm Windows uses by default, but using terminal/prompt or the compactor you actualy can use other algorithms, I highly recomend you to test, In my CS2 folder it saved for me 35% of ~40GB. I use the slowest compression avaliable, it didn't hurt my performance at all. My CPU is a i7 4770

  I saw maximilian_dood try out AV1 4k on twitch, i think the bitrate was about 12-14k pretty insane. sadly he did not save the VOD

  how does this work with older Retrotink like 2x-multi? I remember previous iterations of the elgato cards not being really friendly with retrotink at all. I have a HD60 S and it would have give me alot of issues and had to eventually move on from it

  @@EposVox Oh huh! The very snappy movement is what fooled me, haha. It reminded me of when I tested Crash 2 on PS3 digitally where you can't properly activate the analog controls (because it's expecting the Dual Analog controller). Strangely, it does work when you're using a disc!

  I would like more budget capture cards on the market. For now the only thing available is the Genki Shadowcast, and that has significant delay. No HDMI passthrough. It makes playing faster games and rhythm games very unfun. I want a budget card with passthrough so I can play with no delay, while streaming it to my friends so they can watch/know what I'm doing.

  most people only need 1080p 60fps when it comes to recording, since a 4k video is suppressed on KZread and Twitch anyway. however latency is gonna be the important factor to consider, when choosing a capture device. Elgato in my honest opinion charges way too much, for what you're actually getting. now some might argue there worth it, yeah maybe when you cram a bunch of junk in their that you really don't need, stuff that you hope works out of the box, but the minute you set it up, you get a whole host of problems. the main problem is, most people just wanna stream, but if you have a monitor that's rated at 144hz, or a TV that's 120hz, well there could be a problem trying to get the card to match your monitor or TV. so which card would be better, well the Neo is cheaper, but the Elgato 4K X is still the better the capture device. why because, it can probably handle 1080p 120fps better than the Neo, the Neo most likely is probably only good for 1080p 60 and 4k 30, and it might not even be able to do 4K at all. so that's most likely what your getting if you buy this, but the 4K X can probably do 1440p 60, and up to 1080p 120fps. so if you have a 144hz monitor, that might be the better route to go however there's no guarantee that it'll work even for that setup. but see i don't need all these extra features that come with Elgato cards, that's why i went with the EVGA XR1 Lite, because it's a simple plug n play, that does up to 1080p 60 and that's all that matters to me. plus my TV is only 60, and a capture device can't go higher than what refresh rate is. i don't need HDR or VRR, i just want something that streams and records with little fuss. so will i have trouble running this if i have a 144hz monitor, yeah possibly because most capture cards don't go up that high. so they may say this or that in the description, but think about it why do people often buy 144hz monitors or 120hz TV, it's because they want the best refresh rate possible when it comes to gaming. PC is the biggest factor, now with console you really don't need to go higher than 60, since the vast majority of console games range between 30 and 60. well what capture companies like Elgato do, they try to stay in that range, but people use capture cards also for PC. however there not best fit for PC, unless you get a desktop version, but that's why some people have issues trying to set these up. because it's likely the person wants the card to do what they want, but it may not be able to do that. it's like party chat, you can't do that either. so there's all kinds of variables, but that's just it, people don't like having to give up what there used to doing, but if you want a capture device, you have to cater to that device. like say you buy a cheaper one that gives you 4k 30 pass through that's meant for 1080p, guess what those cheaper capture cards don't go higher than 60hz, and your really only getting 1080p 30fps not 60.
