    YOU CAN DO IT.. 2003 Chevy 5.3 LM7 it did not have the screen. I’m 70 years old and YES, you can replace the oil pressure sending unit WITHOUT taking the intake manifold off. I have the scratched hands to prove it <G>. Just take the engine cover off. Used the following tools….. Special oil pressure sending unit socket $6.00 at NAPA. 3/8” X 6” wobble extension. 3” extension. 3/8” universal adapter. Standard 3/8 drive socket. I found the easiest way to access the sensor was to climb on top of the engine from the front . If you are left handed, good luck…. The hardest part I had was trying to get the new sensor started without cross threading it…

    6:40 I see your link and sync tower screw is forward? And throttle is slightly forwarded? Im might have to do this due to the butterfly not opening up correctly. I wish someone made a video how this works, can't find anything.

    How did these hold up? thinking about doing the same but worried as concrete has water in it that could still expand?

  • @OldGuyDIY
    @OldGuyDIY2 күн бұрын

    They are holding up great. I am not concerned about the water in the concrete. They build roads, bridges in the water and buildings of concrete with no negative outcomes due to the water content.

    I did that today with a 59 year old 870 wingmaster. WD40 was my friend today. The wooden forend will not come off.

  • @OldGuyDIY
    @OldGuyDIY4 күн бұрын

    You might try heating the forend with a hair drier where it rests beneath the barrel on the tube and then dropping a large screwdriver with a plastic handle into the tube and then rapping the screwdriver with a hammer. I have used that technique successfully with a large Craftsman screwdriver in the past without damaging the tube.

    Put some silicone caulk around the motor bolts and bolt holes. Water gets in there and drains down into the motor casing rusting out stuff and getting into the bearings. It's also a good idea to replace the fan capacitor at the same time.

    Had one of those go out $80 for a new one local supplier I used retired rest of the places won't sell to me not a contractor. I now buy online stock extra parts at home like a cap, condenser fan, and contactor. My unit still under 10 year warrant, but cost more to pay someone to install the parts then for myself to just do it and buy the parts.

  • @OldGuyDIY
    @OldGuyDIY11 күн бұрын

    Yes, I replaced one 7 years ago on a different unit and it cost $50 for the part. This one cost $220 on-line. Inflation is a but kicker.

  • @OldGuyDIY

    She prefers the look and feel of carpet to the more industrial appearance of the vinyl products that are more popular now. She also suspected the carpet would result in people being less likely to slip while walking when the surface is wet.

    Good Job Old Guy. Im an Old Guy born in '55.Looked at stacks of RR Ties at the Big Box Store yesterday figuring how the heck can I move this into my truck?!?! I've moved 1,000 lb boulders taking a page out of the Egyptians playbook but these puppies are flat stacked. Think I'll try for the highest ones, crowbar one end to the ground and try to push the high end to flop it into my truck. But I dont think Ill get one just one end on the ground. The whole thing will probably flop. But we'll see. Im a DAV, just had my 19th surgery in replacing a replaced knee. Yikes this may cause surgery 20, but its Duty, Honor, Courage first.

  • @OldGuyDIY
    @OldGuyDIY21 күн бұрын

    Thank you for your service. I suspect they will load then for you at the store. The challenge will be unloading at home. Backing the truck up to a tree, tieing a rope from the tree to a railroad tie and driving away has worked for me in the past. It may be a good time to put the neighbor kids to work.
