  Freeze first yes, a scale bag can help too, certainly makes cleaning easier. Don't cook more than 2 minutes, though 90s for me in the deep fryer. And don't expect it to be soft and mushy (and tasteless) like the squid rings you get at many pubs which are either reconstituted or not even real squid, or have been soaked in bicarb which will tenderize it but make it tasteless.

  All good.. just watched a few other vids and found your boat info... it'll probably go for a Top Ender as well... will suit my spinning and fly fishing. Been to Dampier Peninsula a few times, but next time I head north I'll check out your neck of the woods (hopefully have my Top Ender in tow!). Cheers

  Eden is not humiliated.. she did better than you at catching squid but she didn’t bag you out, and she is right, squid is more tender after being frozen.. would be nice for Eden to feel a bit more supported.

  You're confusing a little bit of friendly banter with something else, mate 🙂 Eden and I have a wonderful relationship and respect each other tremendously. We were just having a laugh 😇 Eden catches all of the fish in every video because I am in charge of skippering the boat and looking after our 3+ camera angles that you can see here. There's not a lot of time left in between for holding a fishing rod 🎣 Chewy squid ain't the end of the world 😝

  You can literally throw a rock 🪨 at the first island from the boat ramp mate, and then it's a hop skip and jump between the other 46 of them out there. Very easy to reach and navigate 👍🏼

  Great effort mate. Good feed. The kayak was a good investment. When I was up that way, we used to put a cyalume stick on the bank to find our launch point on the way back in the dark. (Just in case we had one too many adult beverages). 🍻

  Hey 👋🏼 the fish is a "Black Jawfish", we originally mistook it for a Star Gazer as it has similar traits but the fish itself looks quite different and after a bit of investigation we narrowed it down! Very scary fish right?! 😆
