You should never blow on a hot solder joint as it is cooling. It needs to cool naturally or you may be creating a cold solder joint that can create an intermittent connection. A temperature controlled solder iron won’t over heat the contact or melt the insulation on the wire if the temperature is set correctly.
Thanks John, I didn't know that.
Glad you like them, looking good on your layout.
I hate hot glue guns. Silicone takes longer to set but it lasts longer than hot glue.
I think you put the pancake in backwards which is why it went backwards.
Buy yourself a digital vernier calliper so you can measure the shaft and measure the drill so you can select a drill that is 0.001” to 0.002” smaller than the shaft for a press fit.
Nice pickups. They look great on the track.
I was wondering that , thought I watched this today
Complete consist ofSOO would look awsome
Cool Take 2. lol
Sorry folks, I had to re-upload. No need to re-comment, I did read them all.
Hmmm, I am glad the little yellow stream was some stock being rolled and nothing worse... then again, the camera never went below chest level. 😉
magnificent!!
Well, I missed this but went bananas when I found it. Jersey Bill
Glad your back is bettef. I have those bad days too.atrthritis in spine it sucks
Missed it too.was working .oh well😒
Dang, missed another stream 😐
Great job on your video
That's the problem with that kind of metal, can be bent in an instant by accident, but when you try to straighten it, it breaks at the thinnest point, end of story. In this case, previous deep tampering, and it looks like it was glued with crazy glue. Cracked gears would have to be replaced. If you glue them, they will just recrack in the same place. Well, at least you have things to add to a parts box.
I unfortunately put one of mine on the concrete when I forgot to close the lift bridge!! I agree that the bogies are difficult to remove. When I dropped mine I snapped the pins off one of the trucks. Only damage fortunately!! I replaced the pins with a screw but the head needs to be fairly flat to clear the drive shaft.
To remove shell, take 2 round toothpicks, insert the points downeards to gently ease the porthole windows out of their holes. Leave the toothpicks in place, hold the shell and pull the guts out. The clear plastic pieces will come out as well. Reassemble by placing the clear pieces in position and slide the guts into place. It's dead easy and I suffered your pain as I watched you wrestling with it. I discovered this method about 20 years ago and I wish Walthers had included this tip in their instructions.
That diesel looks good pulling them.
"Hello, KZreads" always cheers me up
The roof markings look like instructions to first responders specifying where to cut through the roof if necessary in the event of a derailment involving overturned cars.
VERY NICE acquisition! Glad you could get a set of six without denting the checkbook too much. The locomotive you should look for is the MP40PH-3C which has been featured in your trainspotting videos. You could also opt for the F59PH locomotive.
Awesome train! I'm happy for you!
Did you hear the Athearn is proucing a rio grande caboose? Matching.
I missed the end of the stream while eating dinner. I see you put the GO consist back on the tracks for Corky I'll bet. Great steam, Jersey Bill
looks great
it says do not remove this tag under punishment by law
Lived in oshawa for a bit on and off for a couple of years.rode it for fun
Very cool Dave and Mrs Scott Rails. An excellent addition. 👍
I like the traditional coaches much better than the go train stuff
I need a set of these and some CanPac stuff
Excellent looking train. So hard to find in N scale. I love my Metro Link.
Wow that is a lengthy train.
Friking Nice :) 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
The go looks awsome
Lol, this explains the 6 coaches from the livestream!
You lucky guy.i want one too.
Nice !!!!! 😉
Their Athearn, not Walthers.... just saying... Great haul either way, and they look great !
Did I say Walthers? my bad.
I have that same bomber set, but it's in gray and red and can't remember the road name because I patched it out. I pull it with a gp40. The end car has a control stand, rear windows, horn, bell, snowplow, and ditch lights for shove operations.
I think they are push pull sets like the Edinburgh to Glasgow trains years ago so look out for a DVT or as they call them cab cars I maybe wrong Dave but I’m sure RM transit done a video on these trains Cheers mate Mark 😊😊
That makes you a special man to give his wife a GO, long pause --------------------------------, train. LOL
Good lookin cars. There is a bit of rolling resistance to em. Rapido released the cars in series, too. They've got a bit more detail and lighting. A wee bit pricey though. Ill stick with the TRE express cars and coaches.
Omg too funny the intro
Check out car 5. Seems to have a bit of wobble.
Such a shame. Months ago, I offered you my sevenGo coaches and two Go locos for trade. But you went and spent money.
I didn't have anything to trade for them unfortunately, and as you know, shipping is a nightmare.
just a suggestion, make a cover for two of the windows, one each for seperate cars for the bathroom. There should also be one for the end car for the drivers cab but as the interior would not be there I would not bother.
If I’m Not mistaken You And Smt Now has those Coaches.
