As a 30+ year practicing Heathen, I really appreciate videos like this, especially your intricate take on it with runic details and all. Just one thing, though... The axe was a weapon and tool of war, as well as a daily self-defense tool. As such, when I build mine soon (based on your video, of course) I like war runes like Tyr, Thurisaz and Hagalaz. Asgard forbid I ever have to use it that way but if I do, I will rain blood and hell on whoever. Just sayin'...

Started making wooden swords back when I was 13. Swords and knives, were the first things I started carving. It led me to so many different things I wanted to carve out of wood, which led to rock eventually. But I still like making wooden swords to this day. Wooden sheathes with them and all.

My only criticism is the way the holes for stitches were made. Pricking irons aren't much more difficult and make a much nicer looking hole.

My grandpa made me a lot of wooden swords when I was younger. I still sometimes make swords with him, not to play with them, but to put them to display.

I picked up a 200 year old broad axe off eBay. It had been hand forged by a blacksmith. I got a 35” hickory handle from Ace Hardware. It w as a little been a job.large but workable. The major problem that I have found is the eye tapers from .750 to .690 at the top. The width varied about the same amount. I almost have I hung. I had to resort to my belt sander and four in hand for most work. I have cut the recesses for the ears but do not have it all the way down, yet. It has been a job.

WE by Yevgeny Zamyatin is a great book about how marxists raise brainwashed people like chickens in a closed society and force shots/ medical procedures etc. highly recommend!! banned by soviets and inspired 1984 & the Giver & tons of books. it was written in 1920 but Zamyatin did a great job predicting the use of technology to make it like every one lives in a glass house

The leather I typically use for leather sheaths is 7-8 oz which translates to 2.78-3.18mm. Here’s a link to a page that describes how leather thickness works. www.weaverleathersupply.com/pages/leather-thickness?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6uWyBhD1ARIsAIMcADrizegPFSNTlvyrZGP0HiZAF65Zs_K2hAoAaw8K11VPjuo6hUN916IaAhTlEALw_wcB

Hey man Looking to make some Bushcraft utensils similar to this and I got some questions for you if you don’t mind me asking 1. With these have to be maintained overtime like through oil rubs, or something of that sort 2. Is there any kind of specific material you used? 3. What kind of oil did you use when quenching and is it safe for when eating? And last Will these rust or form any kind of oxidation overtime that can cause harm to you if you were to eat with them? Love the vids 😁
