    I hope this helps my problem. One thing I noticed on your video and on my machine, at 3:00 you can see 2 clear cups hanging. One cup has a metal pin in it, and so does mine as well. Does that pin need to be put in the holes right above the clear cup. You will see it if you look, I wonder if that a more permanent solution to keep it in place

    Do you think this could be the issue if I don’t have the “steam” version. Lost after a power outage. E1 F5 code.

  • @joshcobb4100
    @joshcobb4100Күн бұрын

    Possible but you might be facing a different issue. You could try unplugging your machine and pushing the power button for 20 seconds. Then leave the machine unplugged for five minutes, plug it back in (after checking your breakers and the outlet and verifying they are good) and cross your fingers.

    I just googled the code and it shows a door lock switch error. This sounds correct based off what you just said about trying to start it and it just beeping at you. Might be worth ordering a new door lock switch before you try a whole new panel or new washer.

    I have a question. I think my clutch, or splutch, assembly is bad. I replaced the shifter, after it stopped working with the horrible grinding sound when it tried to agitate. After replacing the shifter, i can get it to spin at low and high speed, but won't agitate and has the grind sound. But the teeth in the clutch don't really look bad, aside from a *slight* flattening at the tips of the gear teeth, and I don't have the typical ground off plastic particles. Is there a way to verify that it's not a transmission problem before i order the clutch, without opening the transmission? Or, does that just sound like a clutch issue, where it's not shifting properly/fully for some reason. It just doesn't look like the gear teeth are ground so severely that they wouldn't engage, to my untrained eye.

  • @joshcobb4100
    @joshcobb4100Күн бұрын

    I would check the agitator plate, those can get stripped out and while the shaft is moving underneath it, the plate is just holding still. This will make a loud grinding noise.

  • @AarynMadchen
    @AarynMadchenКүн бұрын

    @@joshcobb4100 I checked it. It's not stripped. The grinding only occurs when the agitator and shaft spins but the bowl is not spinning. Otherwise, high and low speed extraction spin works fine only agitate doesn't work. I'm starting to suspect something in transmission, but hate to pull it all apart. 😣 guess I need to just dive in.

  • @joshcobb4100
    @joshcobb4100Күн бұрын

    @AarynMadchen you can’t pull the transmission apart, it’s stamped together. If you manage to drill out the stamped holes and try to pull it apart the keeper rings on the shaft are going to prevent you from taking it apart. You can do it, but it’s a three day ordeal and you’ll have to source the parts manually. unfortunately if you rule everything else out and it’s a transmission issue I personally would get a new washer or try to find a used washer with a good transmission. Did you check the components within the clutch system? The part the shift actuator actually shifts, it’s the pulley wheel and the little plastic three-piece spring loaded assembly.

  • @AarynMadchen
    @AarynMadchen23 сағат бұрын

    @@joshcobb4100 yes. The plastic parts that I referred to as clutch or splutch. The gear teeth are a bit worn flat on top, not like totally ground out, but not sharp points. The original shifter was weak and not shifting completely. The new one works fine. I just didn't see ground pieces of plastic in the clutch assembly so I didn't replace it, but I guess I should have done that along with the new shifter. Just trying to save $40. I'm going to order a new one and hope that does the trick. I also didn't have any white lithium grease handy, so I didn't lube the clutch. That *may* have helped, but maybe those slightly flat gear teeth are the culprit. It kind of seems like a weak way to drive the machine...to depend on plastic gears...but I digress. Thanks again.

  • @AarynMadchen
    @AarynMadchen23 сағат бұрын

    Anyway...it sounds more like plastic grinding than metal gears or bearings, so hopefully a new clutch is the answer, although I think I read somewhere that the transmission gears are plastic too. could be wrong about that, but it doesn't sound like something I want to do, based on your last reply.

Sometimes I had to drain and spin just to complete the cycle. Finally called technician and got quote of $850 on top of $150 he charged for visit. Finally got my lazy ass off the couch and watched videos. Followed your instructions and just completed cleanup. Did not notice lot of green stuff around those golden areas but noticed some sticky stuff. Hard to get out. Turned on cycle and waiting for results . By the way I did break the front left cover while opening. If it works I can still live with broken cover. Will post results in an hour
