Hi! what colors did you use for the chipping?
I use AK11320 with a little white added for the light chips and AK11112 for the dark chipping
@@afv-studio Thank you :D
Where did you get the figures from, was there a place to buy them or are they custom?
You can get them from Panzer Art FI35-127 Voran using the optional heads and addition of radio headset for commander.
Nice work👍👏 I have a love/hate relationship with Dragon.Great subjects but way too many unnecessary parts.
Thanks Michael 👍 I too have a love/hate thing going on with Dragon. There is a lot I find frustrating with Dragon kits.... But (you could tell there was a 'But' coming.) the thickness of their injection moulding (scale wise) is 'spot on' (side skirt armour comes to mind).
Wow...
Your precise and clean construction is to be admired and acknowledged. Keeping everything square & plumb is what challenges me the most. Facing that issue on my Tiger I. Look forward to seeing this painted and weathered! This video will help me when it comes time to build the 'Sexton'.
Thanks Jim. It wasn't plain sailing with this kit. There were some fit issues with the front plate where it fits to the transmission cover and the kit was short at least 20 track pieces. The gun shield didn't want to play ball also and I had to cut some pieces away to make it fit correctly. Some filling was needed here and there to close gaps. I hope the sexton which I also have coming is better 🫣
@@afv-studio Wow! That is a lot of issues to overcome. You are not the first person to note the shortfall of track links with the M7, I fear that may also be the case with the Sexton too. It's basically the same chassis, perhaps Dragon simply used the same for both vehicles. With all the issues you overcame my admiration has increased!
The Priest is such an amazing vehicle,I done a Sherman some time ago,and I really enjoyed the suspension,I have also been waiting for this one for a while,as all your Polls,I voted on it and waited, but now it is finally done!Great job my friend! ;)
Morning KG.. Thanks. Its good to change things up a bit. That said, the next poll is good one 💡
Nice work... Those after=market parts (storage) - who makes them? And who produces that figure?
Thanks... The stowage set can be found from Legend LF1156 but the figure is from a tub of resin figures I purchased and all were in bags to save space. I've traced a number to be panzer art but not sure with this one.
Great info, thanks...
An excellent build my friend, looking forward to the painting video, my only issue with Dragon kits, is too many parts, looking forward to the painting episode, happy modelling best regards from Australia
Thanks buddy. I wont disagree about the part count with dragon kits and there are options out there that will be just as nice if not better when finished. looking forward to finishing this one though as its not been the best Dragon kit to date.
Is this the kit that had the wrong tracks ?....you have done wonders with it.
Thanks for watching...Yes. There were not enough tracks supplied so I took around 20 from another Dragon M4 kit. They supplied what was stated in the instructions but the instruction sheet is wrong. You would think after 15 years they would correct the error. 👍
Happy modelling👍🏻🍻😄
Thanks for watching 👍
Great build, fire your sound guy.
Thanks, I wish I could 🤣
Great job!
Thanks 👍
Fantastico! ❤
Molte grazie
Well done. I made this kit also and I enjoyed the build. There is more very good Pumas on the market now (RMF, MiniArt), but Dragon is a Dragon. BTW. what colour do you use for wooden handles of the tools? I like the tone, looks realistic.
Thanks, I like to use AK's Light Earth for tools that would have Hickory or Ash handles. A bit of Burnt Sienna wash over the Light Earth will add a bit of age and variation to the final look. Green Ochre is another tone i use which is more Oak looking
Fantastic result with the Puma! I have enjoyed this build, as I have one in my stash that I will start soon, and this will be very helpful. I don’t know if I can emulate your work on the camo, so I might settle for something easier as my airbrush skills need improving a little. Look forward to your next project. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺!
Thanks Gary. Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck with the build
Beautifully done!! 👍
Thanks
Excellent 👏
Thanks Colin, glad you enjoyed it.
Wow. 👏🏻🤘🏻Looks Realy Cool
Thanks, comment is much appreciated 👍
Great work. Would like to know which kits were used...
Thanks
I can't ever paint such small lines and connect them, I always miss and paint a different area than what I wanted
Thanks for watching
lol
I still have no clue how people can paint such small lines with a airbrush and connect the lines. How many years of practice does that take?
Thanks Greg. Believe it or not, this is the 1st time I've attempted this pattern. Its not perfect by any means. But seeing the needle tip and trusting that the airbrush will deliver the expected flow of paint is really key I guess because there is no room for error like there is for larger block patterns.
🤝👍
Thanks
love the build....who's figures did you use...
Thanks for watching?
I think these may be Panzer Art. I purchased a whole tub of resin figures from someone locally who was getting rid of. No boxes but I'm sure I saw them with different heads on the Panzer Art website. My commander had no head so I just grabbed something suitable out of the tub and mad it fit.
Amazing work. 👋👋👋
Thanks Dan
Looks cool. 👍
Thanks my friend 👍
Nice job,l myself would dry brush the cam net a bit with some lighter greens give it some life,
Thanks for your comment I did actually drybrush the camo net, but didnt show it in the video except at the opening sequence at the very start. and visible in the closing shots of the completed model. I could have gone a bit lighter but felt it was standing out quite nicely at the end.
Amazing work my friend, the camo is so neat, and that H&S does an amazing job,I see why you recommend it to me,and the weathering looks great,a fine finish in my opinion. Thanks for the video!
AWESOME!!! Seeing your Puma come together has given me inspiration to buy & build- not just buy!- the new MiniArt Puma. I want to make good on the Dragon Puma that I buggered up last year. Once again, great model!! Love it
Nice ! You can do better 🤣 No really if you messed it up so bad, another go will make a nice addition to your collection 💕 Thank you for the support
@@afv-studioIs there a way I can send you photos of my Puma? Be fun to share and see what you think.
@@jimaltergott9326 Of course you can ! My email is part of my channel. Anyone who wants to contact me can do so.... [email protected]. You are welcome to share privately or prehapse via 'what's app' or' telegram'. my email is available to whoever wants to make contact. Just send me your mobile/ contact via email and i will respond 👍
@@afv-studioThanks! I will put some photos together soon.
@@jimaltergott9326 Great! I look forward to seeing them... If you include your mobile I'll add you to my contacts on what's app or telegram. I wont give my mobile here for obvious reasons, but via email, then its more private correspondence 😉
Wonderfully painted and weathered! Well done!
Thank you, I hope the process was enjoyable to watch
Beautiful thing, BUT it seems everyone is Tarp mad these days, a single tarp over the grills and you would have one very overheated Panther engine, a fairly easy task even without the tarp.
Thanks for your comment.
Awesome work! But too much chipping.
Thanks for taking a look
I think that this is a superb build and the modifications and the stowage add such a lot to the model. I am currently making this kit and will use some of your suggestions to improve my model, many thanks.
Thanks Steve. A lot of the mods were inspired by what I had seen from other model makers on KZread also. Glad you have some inspiration and good luck with your Cromwell build 👍
All the encouragement to start again after nearly 40yrs. No doubt the prices will have gone up since the last one i bought was£3:99.😮
🤣 You better get those moths out of your wallet, because its not 1980's prices now 🤣 You know.... what you said in your comment, was me 2 years ago. If I may, I'll post a link to a great online store here in UK where I get most of my supplies www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/
Yore right there .Not as bad as I thought thought tho. Selected an ISU 152 Tamiya kit from e- bay for £ 44.99. 👍
@@kevinwood5005 Good choice, you cant go wrong with Tamiya they make a good kit. Perfect to get back into the hobby.
I saw Andy's HHQ review of the RFM Puma. Not bad, an alternative to the full interior upcoming MiniArt kit. My order from Cyber-Hobby is on the way. Gave into impulse and ordered the Dragon Afika Tiger I & the British Sexton.
I watched that as well Jim. Did you not go for that great looking USMC Sherman in the end?
@@afv-studio I did. But could only find the Tarawa 1943 version that Martin Kovac recently built
One question if I may. From the time you got your confirmation of shipment email, how long did it take to receive your order from Cyber Hobby?
@@jimaltergott9326 The ''Free shipment'' is very slow. To get here in UK it takes 2 months at least. You can log on and track the shipment so at least you know its on its way Once it leaves china it will go quite until it arrives in your country
@@afv-studio Ok, thanks. My order shipped this week, been following it via tracking number. My hunch is customs will take the longest to get through.
Спасибо за ролик. Едет ко мне такой же набор🎉
Its really nice to build, Probably one of the best Panther kit on the market.
I think the wooden hanging ones look artificial;
Thanks for watching
Very cool video, as a beginner I enjoyed watching and learning. If possible, could you make a similar video with aviation? I would really like to see the basic techniques and techniques for painting aviation, thank you very much for the cool, useful video!
Thanks. Unfortunately I have no plans for aviation right now. However I know a lot of these techniques will transfer and are used similarly on Aviation modelling. Thank you for having a look here 👍
It’s very nice to watch the work of masters of their craft, I’m new to modeling, and I’m very interested in learning step by step from your videos. Thank you
Thank you, you are too kind. Competent? yes....Master? still a way to go to get there I think. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Looks a tough build but looks amazing finished 👏
Thanks Colin. will look great once painted, hope you check it out when published 👍
Is that piper?
No. The commander here is a Hauptscharführer or senior NCO which was a special appointment given to NCO's that had proven themselves able to command in the heat of battle.
