Nappy has never been use to up lift but to degrade. The world originated by racist to describe black hair just like the N word. I have never or will ever use those horrible words to describe my blackness.

Deep conditioning is a big one. I used to deep conditioning over night or for hours but now I do it in the shower right after shampoo. I used to do SOOO much but when I simplified my routine wash days are a breeze now. Also, you can’t pay me enough money to wear someone else’s hair on my head. It’s even more insane how people pay as much as they pay. They see the value in a $700 wig and sit in the salon ALL DAY but would never put in the same work on their real hair? Make it make sense

It’s weird to walk around with another person’s hair on your head in the first place. The weave culture has BW in a chokehold

To be honest. You are the first natural hair influencer that I have encountered that spoke nothing but the truth. When I started my natural hair journey I was a product junkie. Some worked and some cause breakage. I had to start over a few times.😢. But what I can definitely say I have learnt is LESS IS MORE. Not just with your hair but life in general. It’s the same thing with weight loss and skin care. Keep it simple. Just find what works and stick to that. And most importantly just be patient and trust the process. There will be ups and downs and sets backs . But if you stick to your routine we will all see results. You’ve gain a new sub. Keep doing what you doing. ❤❤❤

Tangles and breakage and shrinkage I don't think our woes are in our head. Most other races of people do not have to worry about their hair tangling and breaking off at the rate black women's hair does and the single strand knots that always have to be cut off. I feel like lying that there is no reason to have issues with our hair or that there is not issue is also dishonest. I don't use chemicals and haven't most of my life but I totally understand why people use wigs and weaves. If one can't braid which is a lot of people than outside of a puff ponytail or wash n gos which don't last. Plus people want length.

I see this video is old, so not sure you’ll respond. But, I’m wondering, when you’ve worn your hair in these braids, did you ever do vacation and get in the pool and/or beach water? And if so, how did they hold up and how did you maintain them?

I got MULTIPLE textures in my hair. Fux the hair typing system. EMBRACE YOUR NATURAL HAIR BLACK WOMEN. We are the most beautiful in our natural state. All those wigs and all that makeup , which clogs your pours, is hideous. Protect your hair without the fake braids , drink water, eat healthier and watch your hair flourish

I wonder if the water isn’t the problem, but what’s in it. I noticed my hair didn’t do well with the water in America, then I go to Germany and their water is drinkable from tap and better than most bottles water (I tested it). I noticed the tap water in Germany was better for my hair.

I started off with my hair long as hers in 2018 while I was a young girl. Once my mom stopped doing my hair in middle school bc I didn’t want dookie braids anymore my hair just got shorter and shorter especially when I started wearing weave. I tried dreads and lost so much hair because of that also. I know that I can get my hair back long eventually with the right determination and discipline/knowlege. Thank you for sharing your hair journey and tips. It help keeps my hopes up

I understand and want to cancel my appointment for tomorrow morning. I only get braided weave in for vacations, maybe a holiday once in a while. I’ve always been on that couldn’t where a wig, I tried to see myself in it and lately, I’ve been contemplating these braids. I love my natural hair and miss it when I feel like I have to keep a weave style in because it cost me an arm and a leg.🤦🏾‍♀️ Even though I asked the person if they wash the toxic chemicals out of the hair….I think it’s time to be true to my own convictions for good. Thank you ❤ bless you

I never remember my natural hair without relaxers. I went gray, stylist over the last 3 years damaged it, and I can't keep up with black semi permanent color. Now, I am forced to learn what my natural hair needs. After 60 years... OMG the fight is over. My hair is beautiful. I am TWA now and need patience. I wish more brown girls learn to love their hair. God gave us amazing hair... when we fight against our hair, our hair will look crispy. I never felt right with bone straight Asian hair. Type 4 hair is so beautiful coiled, wrapped, tucked, slicked to puffy bun, twisted, braided, cornrows, and or flat ironed/roller set. Straight hair girlies have so few styling options.

I just don't understand all this weaving & wigging. God created you & gave you your hair texture, embrace it! Proper washing & conditioning will allow your own hair to grow! I have loose wavy hair & I've grown it out to the middle of my back. When I pull a strand of my hair it doesn't brake. Finding the right product for your hair type will allow it to grow! Doing less is more for growth!

I love when she always says "you do you boo" she never minimizes what we are doing to our hair if it works she says continue on. Love that about her. She's so calm, low key I just love that she tells her Truth that she's not doing this or that. Lol😂😂

You know you don't care about the length of your hair when you take down the top braid and not the one under it. Lol! The other youtubers be making sure they do the one lowest anyone else notice that??? Not Natural Academia she be doing it BIG!! Why everybody else here is playing she growing inches for real.

Gurrrl I love watching you do your hair I watch your videos over and over again. So keep doing it. I have learned so much from you. I am out here washing and deep conditioning my hair once a week for years. This month is the first time I've gone 3 weeks without washing my hair and I was thinking it was going to be a nightmare but I was pleasantly surprised. I wish I could go as long as you do.... like my goal is trying your regime by washing once a month and just remoisturizing once a week. I want to see how long I can go keeping my hair moisturized but low manipulation styles. You're my Hair Hero so don't be out here busting my bubble I'm going to grow my hair JUST LIKE YOU LOL, 🤣🤣🤣 Love how you keep it 100 out here. I've been a subbie from day #1

Although I don’t wear weaves, but black women can wear their hair how they please. Black women wear weaves and wigs just like nonblack women for whatever reason they choose. I don’t understand this obsession with black women and their hair. Black women don’t have to explain a damn thing to anyone about their hair. They have every right to style their hair as they please. Black women aren’t a size fit all when it comes to natural hair or weaves. And just because a black woman wears a weave or wig it doesn’t mean she doesn’t love herself or blackness. Black women are done with policing of their hair.

If another race wears extensions it's the same texture as their own hair they love their hair and want more of it, blacks completely cover hide the afro with wigs weaves lace fronts extensions etc with another race's texture and it looks ridiculous on a black and defo not in the DNA = self hate and laziness sooner than deal with the afro

I actually live my hair. My girls live their hair. I wear wigs because its convenient. I don’t always do my edges. I have three kids and two jobs. I also go to school. So, to throw on a wig is easier for me. When i have time or a break for a few days, i do my hair. Every black woman doesn’t hate their hair.

Let people do what they want, natural hair is beautiful, wigs also look good.. people have different reasons for doing what they do and our growth and confidence journey is different... what's important is that eventually, each woman finds who they are and what works for them, their authentic self and not be afraid to express it even in their style or how they wear their hair
