Natural Hair WASHDAY ROUTINE After SIX Weeks ‼️ | Natural Hair Growth Challenge

Details on the NHG Challenge:
The Natural Hair Grow Challenge that I, Natural Academia, started doing in the summer of 2020. This challenge allowed me to take some time to let my hair just be. In my opinion, Natural Hair grows a lot faster when it is left alone. In addition to that, this challenge has also forced me to love my hair in its natural state, I no longer feel the need to make everything look “perfect” or worry about how I’m going to do my hair when I do my NHG challenges.
Time frame: 7/9/2022-10/9/2022
Moisturize: When needed, I will be moisturizing every 2 weeks

I hear you with the grease staining pillows, it is annoying but grease is the love of my life 🤣🤣🤣
Three months in a protective style honestly I'm happy to not have to deal with it. My hair is put away and has been wash and moisture while in the style. I miss my hair but I also super glad to not have to do it. I feel the less we touch and play with our hair the longer it grows.

Yes so true … Ironically as it may sound ,putting our crown away feels like the best thing to do for our hair and I dont know why it has to be that way for us 😫No matter how much I want to flaunt my thick natural hair it always ends up with single strand knots and I always have to cut them so I’ve braided them in cornrows now since it helps my hair grow 😭😭

I agree. I keep my hair in a protective style major of the time. I just don’t have the patience like I use to with my hair lol
I’m going to wash mines too after a month. It can definitely be a chore, but I can’t wait to scrub that scalp lol!
I would have scratched a hole in my scalp if I went even two weeks without shampooing.🙆♀ Today is day 5 and I need to shampoo in the morning. It would be nice not to have to shampoo as frequently as I do, but that's not what my scalp is in agreement with.🤣 It looks like a normal amount of shedding to me, especially for six weeks.💜 I hope your move goes smoothly.

I get so excited to see one of your videos pop up !!
I love your videos! Love your hair growth journey.
You are such a natural beauty! Love it🥰
Good luck on your move! Loving how healthy and long your hair looks. Be well and happy new school year. My son went away too. I'll be praying for you both.
Thank you for uploading Steranda 😊
I appreciate your honesty in sharing what woks for your hair and giving the cons of the products.
If you want to try to style your hair without grease, I have a suggestion. When in the shower, coat the hair with apricot kernel oil, then add the Bonita Afro balm by the doux to your hair. Keeps my hair moisturized for weeks without the greasy feeling
Amazing hair! Beautiful twists!! 😍
I absolutely love your hair stiranda
So beautiful as always!
If you’re trying to stop using grease, I would recommend you try out the 3 step method. Shampoo, condition, then style with a mousse or gel. It’s sounds crazy, but it changed my hair, for the good. My hair is always so soft and moisturized, it’s growing a lot faster. Etc.
I just love your hair videos
Castor oil is a good alternative for the grease… it is thick and will seal in the moisture without leaving the white cast
Beautiful person inside and out 💖
You inspire me that hair of yours is wonderful.
Happy Saturday
I joined the July hair growth challenge and as someone who became fully convinced by using grease through watching you and Tubers like EfikZara and NeziNapps I feel you in the grease staining! I honestly can’t remember what using an oil on my hair as a sealant was like, but if you want to take a break from grease I hear Castor Oil and Shea Butter apply and seal great for high porosity. I remember early in your channel you mentioned wanting to go an all natural route so maybe this is a sign😊 though if you want something grease-like, the Carols Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Pomade is something I’m using every week and it smells as good as it feels. That and some ORS Hair Fertilizer (an oldie but goodie ) and my spray bottle are how I plan on getting through these months!
I love your videos❤
Beautiful hair ❤️💯
Subbed and liked. Hope you're doing well, enjoying 2022, and staying safe.
Aussie Moist is the BEST conditioner for detangling. I love it! I don't like strong scents as well lol
Might have to try that shampoo! Friend you are heavy handed lol the way you poured that $25 shampoo! 🫠🫠
Even though this is pre-recorded, I’m So happy to see you beautiful one! Great video as always! I’ve tried the ginger rinse too…and my hair LOVED it. It’s just so expensive 💀 and you don’t really get that much in the bottle lol 😂😂😂 but I think it is worth it too 😩👀 I’m never letting grease go, but I love Shea butter. It doesn’t leave the same film although since it’s a fat, it has a dulling residue. The other alternative would be oil, but that gets everywhere too lol. Anyway, I’m Praying our Lord’s peace and guidance in every step you take, and your move. Don’t stay away too long! (I’ll be joining the challenge too! 😍)
texture id styling cream is great!
Your hair is beautiful
Try grapeseed oil to sub the grease. Also the Camille Rose rinse is $11.99 on Target’s website 🥰
you have to get products like that when they have sales, they normally have multiple ones throughout the year and of course on black friday so i always check ulta, sally beauty or target. if you check their instagram they will post when there's a sale
The Melanin Hair Care Twisting Cream keeps my hair moisturized for daysss. You could also try Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting butter. Both of these butters/creams are my go-to for long lasting moisture 🥰
10 weeks counting 💪🏾
Sadly, I stopped my challenge after a month and a few days, I wanted to make it to September but my hair was looking bad lol! Maybe next time it'll be two months, we'll see! 😆😁💙
Gorgeous head of hair
Lovely hair
Try the As I Am Jamaican black castor oil shampoo! It’s the BEST shampoo I’ve ever used. It detangles and cleanses like a dream, and it’s like $8-$12! I’m a Camille Rose stan, but this shampoo is the only exception in my regimen 💖

@@mayasheartdesiire No, it's moisturizing!
Try a hair butter. I don't know if you do DIYs, but I make hair butter to use as a sealant, and I go from wash day to wash day without having to remoisturize. I wash my hair about every 2 weeks. I use a weird combination of products after washing but the hair butter keeps everything in there.
Such lovely hair on a lovely young lady.
The camille rose product is almost $200 or more in my country😭😭😭 I just look at it and leave it alone but imma treat myself one day😌
I use oil instead of grease to seal in after using a leave in to moisturize it doesn’t transfer or build up like grease

I'm just here to say that Palmer's Olive oil grease works on my relaxed hair too 😄

How come you hair never is tangled 🤣 your hair seems so easy to manage. I need to detangle before washing my hair because otherwise I won't be able to twist and get the shampoo onto my scalp. You're blessed lol

Try prepoo with aloe Vera.
Hello, I know it's very very late to comment but I want to know how do I finger detangle my short hair or what comb is more suitable for my short hair
That’s one the reasons I don’t like grease , there are less greasier ways to seal hair
Hi, how are you doing? I instantly thought of you today while shopping at Marshalls. They had cases and cases of TGIN Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer for $9.99. Targets in my area (Oklahoma City) price is $17.99. Not sure if this is going on at all Marshall stores. Just fyi - you might want to visit/call your local Marshalls and find out.
i seal my hair with castor oil, it's thick and enables my hair to stay moisturized for 2 Weeks

Have you tried mielle products the pomegranate and honey one ? My niece has the same hair texture and it dries fast as well I started using that in her hair and it’s been better than before. So I’m gonna keep using that in her hair to style it.

instead if grease can you try Alikay Natural shea yogurt. I use it on my daughter hair along with the TGIN that you recommended and her hair stay moist for a while without having to re moisturize.

@@mayasheartdesiire No ma'am. It's a Shea Butter base product with essential oils and carrier oils. I use it as a sealant for my mini twist on dry stretched hair. Reading the jar it says it's a moisturizer but I don't find butters or oils moisturizing .
