Been on medtronic for 2 years. Hate hate hate them.. this 780 pump NEVER stops beeping, wakes me up at least once a night, usually more, meh accuracy... the endless alarns are my biggest complaint, beep for calibration, beep youre low ( but after eatimg so passing UP past the trigger point) or BEEP youre high ( passing down past high trigger ) ohh yeah, it often fails early. Also wtf is up with the stop bolus ? If you accidentally were giving too much insuling and want rmergency stop of delivery its a multi step process. Bolus - stop bolus - are you sure? Right click, "yes" No testing at all i think, how does emergency stop take so many steps while its still dosing? Also, have been in range ( auto mode ) 87% of the time for over 3 months according to the pump.. jusy got my a1c results, my a1c is 8.7mmol.. so no, not in range at all.. pump cgm lying I alsodont for the life of me understand why i cannot just give insulin, gavr to lie to the pump and input carbs... why would you taje away a diabetics ability to simply give a correction bolus dose ?

I was searching for info on the needle (& I found your account) bc I had tried monitor a few years back that felt like it was stabbing me! It was inserted correctly, but after 30 min it had to be removed. As a person w next to zero fat on body, an insulin pump didn't work either. My new diab dr sent in script for G7 & I'm trying to find as much info as poss 😊

I won’t try it. Their previous products have lacked common sense in their design. This is a local company and I want to support them, but I won’t, because I don’t think they have a clue when it comes to …well anything.

This is a good tip for just incase I god forbid get diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Late March my mom was worried that I had it, and it turned out that it was a jaurdiance side effect and forgot that jaurdiance causes high blood glucose in the urine.

I do not recommend Medtronic. The user is not the focus. I have had many issues over the years with poor customer service. First when I upgraded to the 770g I was told there would be no cost passed along. Then I was give a 3,000 dollar bill. Until the new sensor the pumps were nothing but constant alerts. This week I tried to order supplies on Monday, was told on Wednesday they are out, after I had to follow up, and cannot be mailed for another 2 weeks. This was with no notice that supplies were on back order or that people should order them early. Maybe it would have been bad PR but at least it would have let people plan for the issue. Medtronic only adjusted their sensor years after the competition did. This is not their core business and as a medical supply company they cant even do that.

I have a Medtronic Insulin Pump. I used the first Generation CGM they had and upgraded my Medtronic Insulin Pump solely for having the CGM. I completely agree with you. I love the insulin pump. I can't stand the CGM. The sensor felt like having tiny copper wires in your skin. The CGM itself was constantly innaccurate in terms of the blood sugar readings. I went back to using a bluetooth blood sugar meter and just syncing it with my app on my phone. Much easier. A lot more cost effective, 70 strips for $25, less upkeep. Most of all more accurate readings. The insulin pump aspect is the best thing.

Needed to see this. My doctor wants me to take this pump. I think is very big (i'm short and skinny), the sensor is uhhh... not pretty, but as you say it: the goal is to take care of our sugar the best way possible.

I been on Medtronic’s Insulin pump for about 8 years. Me experience with Medtronic has been terrible with their very poor customer service and being lied to. My first pump with them had to be replaced 3 times over the few years I had it. Just before my pump was ready to upgrade I got a call from my diabetic educator who lied to me and told me the 780 would be available and it would be approved within two months of the upgrade. That didn’t happen for over a year. Then, once the upgrade was available, they asked me for $1000 for the transponder. Because of my financial situation I couldn’t afford it. I thought with Medtronic for seven months and they would not help me at all. Then I went off the pump a few weeks ago because I ran out of supplies altogether. Just yesterday, Medtronic finally agreed to send me supplies. Being a diabetic and not being on an insulin pump is very risky and Medtronic should be fully aware of that. They overnighted the supplies to me. Then, I realized that they didn’t send the supplies for the transponder. I called today and asked them why they sent 2/3 of the supplies. They told me today they have now transponder replacements. They said they will mail them out once they get them. Do they tell me when? No! I’ve been misled and had poor experiences with this company for at least six years. I’m switching companies as soon as my warranty runs out! I’m not playing games anymore. Dexcom is supposed to have a much better customer service experience. Hopefully they don’t lie like Medtronic does, and push me off the pump again.

I was interested to hear your comments. I have never been on a pump and most of it was Greek to me. My Dr. wants me on this pump, but after hearing your input on this I am not interested. I just turned 80 and think it is too much trouble to learn and do all that you talked about. But thank you for your honesty. I'll just stay with my pin pricks and insulin pen. Thank you

This video is not meant to give an overview of the basics of insulin pump therapy, but is an in-depth dive on the features that make this pump unique, are new, or stood out to me. You don’t need this level of detail to use a pump like this! I encourage you to schedule an appointment with a diabetes educator to learn more about insulin pumps and how they apply to you in your specific situation :) Thanks!

I won’t do the 780. The 680 was so dumb I’m going to wait for the other companies to catch. Medtronic seems like they lack common sense. To have a fire alarm for a calibration warning is so dumb. I have to tell all my coworkers I’m diabetic because of this fire alarm. I hope Medtronic goes out of business to allow other companies with competent designers to implement basic usability .😂

Is InPen considering offering any CGM integration? Seems like it would be good if the app could watch your glucose values and recommend insulin shots when values rise. Seems like the data recorded from both CGM & shots could provide more useful data to help us. In general, do you still feel the InPen is a good product? Are there any competing products with more features? Is this generally covered by insurance? Thanks for any answers.

My 780 insulin pump will alert me when my blood sugar is at 250 which is what it's suppose to do. Then it says it's gonna administer a correction of insulin and after that the load screen after being administered the bar shows going from left to right. Showing that the insulin is being delivered. However, after that's done and I go back to my safe guard screen, I have no active insulin in my system and no insulin was given. Medtronics is unable to see this in their system. Has anyone else had a similar situation? Please let me know. Thx!
