Your videos have helped me so much. My mother-in-law suggested I watch your videos many years ago and that is how I got started watching your channel! Thank you for all your help! I'm on the Tandem TSLIM with Dexcom. I tried the Medtronic 770g a couple years ago and really disliked it so I got a refund as well as returned it. The Guardian Sensors have a long way to go to catch up to Dexcom! I think anyways.

Just started using the G7 a few weeks ago and this is an upgrade from the G6. The advantages of the G7 have already been mentioned but one thing I have noticed is that the G7 is a bit erratic in the first 24 hours. I have to keep my test strips close by to make sure the readings are accurate. Just yesterday I have had a sensor fail and had to call Dexcom to get a replacement since that sensor was all over the place. One minute I'd be at 200 and the next it showed 97 with both arrows down. Blood test showed 150. Obviously a malfunctioning sensor. This is also the first time I use a sensor on the back of my arms. Not that it is noticeable or uncomfortable but I was used to the G6 on my abdomen and since I am a side sleeper I wonder if I sleep on that arm where my sensor is it will negatively affect communication with the receiver. Time will tell. Overall I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a good fit for me. BTW, T1D for 30+ years. =)

Thank you Danica! My 13 year old daughter has benefited from wearing the G7 after having used the G6. It is definitely more streamlined (smaller), she likes that and also that the warm up time is so much quicker. However, there are some drawbacks. It has popped off several times and we've had to request replacements. If she swam or showered, the overpatch sticker began peeling off. So we bought Skingrips, and even with the SkinGrip on, it still peeled off after a swim. Frustrating! Do you recommend closed overpatches over open ones? Do you think they would work better? Let me know whenever you are able. Thanks again!

I wish my health insurance still covered the Dexcom. I had and loved the G6 and wish I could get the G7. The only CGM which is covered in the Libre 3. It’s ok but for a long period of time I couldn’t even use it because my iOS didn’t work with it until iOS’s latest update. I also would love to be able to get Dexcom because how it works with insulin pumps. Maybe someday my insurance will cover a lot more diabetes supplies.

1051 I can’t wait for the G7 to be pump compatible. The size of the G6 is just too much. Before I had a pump I was using Free style Libre and it’s so tiny compared to the G6. It was very difficult to get used to. Seems we’ve been waiting quite awhile for the FDA to get their act together. Europe has been pairing G7 for over a year.

Overall, I like the G7. I like that it's all in one piece (no separate transmitter). Makes traveling a lot easier. The sensor is MUCH smaller, which is also nice and the 12 hour grace period, shorter warm-up time, and app features are all really helpful for me. I use DIY Loop which already works with the G7 and that too is a much nicer experience (no having to remember to "add" a new transmitter, and I can access G7 info right from within the Loop app). But I've had a few issues with the G7. It is faster to disconnect from my iPhone and my iPhone has to stay VERY close to my body to maintain a connection. In addition, there's less adhesive material so the sensor seems to fall off more easily if I get really sweaty. So far Dexcom has been good about replacing them. I also had a sensor that just would not consistently give readings, so had to end that sensor early. Hopefully Dexcom can work out these little issues because overall it is definitely a much improved experience. I don't even notice wearing the G7 because it is so small and I really like that.

I was searching for info on the needle (& I found your account) bc I had tried monitor a few years back that felt like it was stabbing me! It was inserted correctly, but after 30 min it had to be removed. As a person w next to zero fat on body, an insulin pump didn't work either. My new diab dr sent in script for G7 & I'm trying to find as much info as poss 😊

I trialled the G7 and found the levels given by the G7 weren't as accurate as the libre. I was disappointed as I found the G6 was good for accuracy.

I’m switch to G7 and I missed the connection to my tslim. I lost already one sensor on day 2. I hit it at the right place and fell off. Also, seems like the transmission range sucks! My phone has to be on the same side than my sensor in my back pocket jeans 🙄

    I. Have alkergies to thr G6 tape. And i use a Tandem Control i Q i usually use my arms for se. Sensors and abdomen or glute for thr pump. If i use my abdomen for G6 or G7 WHERE would I put the pump? On thr same side as the sensor or the other side since the pump is close to it? I don't have much skin or fat in my abdomen w If i put G7 on my arm i dont know about taking the overpatch off as my skin bruses easily. Any suggestions?

My question is: Does the G7 read well on the first day? The most annoying thing about the G6 is how sometimes on the first day of insertion, the readings are super inaccurate. It would be amazing if the G7 fixed this problem. Thanks for sharing your experiences with it!

I have been using the G7 for about a month now. I do find it to be more accurate on the first day than the G6 was. Downside is that the G7 doesn't have as good of a range as the G6. I have to keep my phone really close to my body in order to maintain a connection with the G7, whereas with the G6 I could roam around my house within my iPhone and still maintain a connection.

I find it terribly inaccurate on the first day. I’ve also had to calibrate it at times to get accurate readings. Sometimes it’s just fine. A bit annoying but better than sticking my fingers 6-8 times per day.

Are there any fellow diabetics doing somewhat heavy labour as a job? I am using the Medtronic 780G, and I started a new job a few days ago. I have had many lows, and the only way I have figured out to avoid these is turn off automode, lower basal to 10%. So my main question is, does the Tandem have better settings in auto? My Medtronic takes way to long to adjust the basal and does not set it low enough. It does suspend, but again it is to late. I may be missing something but it seems I have to do things manually.

I watched this video again because my Tandem pump is now compatible with the G7. Doing a trial run tonight, have 4 G’6 left that work with my pump. Been on a pump since 1987, Tandem is the best pump. Tried the Medtronic but switched away from Medtronic because of the CGM. I liked how the closed loop worked on my Medtronic as well as the Control IQ of the Tandem. One thing working, doesn’t matter which pump. I am retired now, but my retirement job is at a golf course. Free golf with work. But during the summer and in warmer to hot conditions I crash when working. In my case it’s the hot weather and how the hot weather affects the body. The blood vessels get bigger trying to cool the body down. When this happens my basal is adsorbed quicker or maybe more efficient. Thus I crash. In my case in the afternoon when my basal is set at its lowest setting I can turn my pump off for up to three hours. I would not recommend this, because everyone is different. But it works for me. I talked to my NP and she doesn’t see an issue. A1c’s are 6.8-7.2 over the last year and despite being a Type 1 Diabetic for 47 years I am healthy with no signs of kidney disease or diabetes in the eyes. Knock on wood, getting older almost 69. This fall and winter season I haven’t crashed like I do in the summer. Maybe it’s heat, maybe it’s the physical work you do. Talk with your health care providers, if they are diabetic they understand, the good non diabetic providers have seen this and can work with all of us on. I like the closed loop feature on my pump and would not trade it for any other. It’s a constant concern we and our families deal with. Good luck with any solutions, you might have found one by now.

Just started using G7. I don't see a lot of value in the readings it's giving me. The G7 seems to tell me readings of what my blood sugar was 30 minutes ago, not real time readings. Low alarm last night G7 60mg/dl glucometer 32mg/dl. G7 at least 30 minutes behind actual BS level. Still have to stick finger. What good is this CGM doing for me? I was unaware that this was how CGM's work before starting to use.

I'm really annoyed how the G7 app isn't compatible with a wider range of smartphone models. It's not compatible with my Motorola phone that's only 18 months old. I simply do not have money for $1,000 plus iPhone. So, in the meantime, I have to use the really dinky receiver that is as difficult to operate as a flip phone from 20 years ago.

The G7 is a PROBLEM. MARD of 8.1??? I feel lucky if my G7 is within 30 pts of my meter reading. Ive been using the G7 since 10/23 when I gave up my G6 for the "better" G7. No. It isnt. It is a POS. Can you calibrate the G7?? The G7 often rejects my calib. attempt. Why?? No reason given. Maybe it doesnt like the FACT that it is inaccurate. The G7 is "out of range" 50% of the time. I am often within 18 inches of my phone and the sensor is still out of range. BS. Does the G7 work with the INPEN??? Nope. Not. At. All. Does the G7 work anywhere?? Nope. "Only on your upper arm" say the Dexcom tech. support. They told me this is stated on their website. No. It is not. Watch the sensor before you put it on. Ive had 2 sensors that had the needle OUTSIDE of the proper injection location. Both did NOT work. Often, the G7 will go from 130 to 190 to 250 to 320 in less than an hour. I check my meter and BG is 220. WTF?? No idea. G7 usually rejects a recalib. during these temporary insanity periods. There are SO MANY more issues with this POS G7. I am done. Going back to the G6. G7 = worthless POS that Dexcom refuses to fix.
