Why do they kill ducks?🤔
Mr. Diggweed said in an interview that he uses a full choke to lengthen the shot string and let's the target fly through the shot. I found that interesting after watching your shot string videos.
This was amazing thank you
Where did Surviving Duck Season go in the '23-'24 season?
How to buy idol in my store im hunting in the philippine im watching always in your youtube have a godday idol
I can buy idol im hunting in the philippines how to bu store thank you
They’re all junk!
Yes, you still need to test your own gun because each gun will vary .
Full choke in my SX4. Need to patten it tho..
Winchester SX4 12 gauge. But I messed up and got a 3” chamber instead of a 3 1/2”. I didn’t even think about it because my first duck hunt was the next day 😂
Mudhens, yuck
i guess im old school im australian most of us here are old school
mmm im oldschool by your standards never though about it im from australia i would say 90% of us here are old school
A powered rotating table that spins approximately the speed of a bird taking flight. Set up those gel chunks around the edge of the table. Cover exterior of the circle with pictures of the birds over each gel block. You can replace the paper and see if a string of shot actually does equal better hits by seeing both where you hit on the paper target and just how much shot actually hits the block
my recent duck slayer is a stoeger m3000 but just purchased an sx4 hybrid hunter!
When you shoot a three dimensional shot cloud into a patterning board and get a two dimensional picture of that cloud, what criteria do you use to determine the quality of the pattern? I personally think it’s a worthless exercise unless you are trying to determine if a choke is keeping the appropriate percentage of shot are in the circle for that choke, or trying to determine the POI of that shotgun for the shooter.
I only use the original Hevi Shot in the green or blue 10 round boxes with a hevi shot choke tube in a Beretta A400. My cripples are almost nonexistence, and my bag limits are much better since I quit using steel shot. I use #4 or #6 on ducks and #2 on geese. It is hard to find these shells, but you can find them online auctions. Also, it doesn't matter if they are 2 3/4 or 3 in, they both kill really good.
I huntet for years with a side by side Merkel 12 bore. I gave it to my nephew and bought myself a Beretta S686 Special 20 bore. Very pleased with it. A 20 bore is more than enough for the small game hunting we do up here in the artic north of Norway and Sweden; mainly ptarmigans, polar hare and capercaillie. The 20 bore is a much slicker gun and the ammunition is lighter. Just as efficient as the 12 bore when we compare the two. We walk for miles every day in the wilderness for weeks at a time.
Great video!
Marketing is a hell of a drug!
Yes please, demonstration of whether shot string matters.
Starting out steel was crap. I hunt catahula lake the first place steel was mandated in 12ga. You could literally see the steel shot fall in the water 20 yards are less in front of you. I bought a 16ga remington 1100 hunted 2 more years with lead.
Boss bismuth
Another great show
This video has sooo many good tips!!
Does the bore of a shot gun make a difference in the shot string, most bores are 730 thousands the shot gun you are using i think has a over bore . the benelli has a bore of 725 thousands .
Come out to the butte sink in California
I heard a story of a guy whose wife would cut both sides of the ham off before cooking. He asked her why? She said idk my mom always did. Go find her mom. Then asked her why? She says idk my mom always did. Track her down and asked her why? She said I had to to make it fit in the pan. lol
Awesome! Hope it all does just as it should! Best of luck! Love the videos!!!
I raise ducks and geese on my farm. But new to it and now my ducks are of age. basically I am told domestic ducks are mallards.
Do you or have you every blown or hunted with a Kirk McCullough Cut-down? If so what is your opinion?
What’s your favorite type of choke tube for duck hunting and goose hunting?
What’s your thoughts on the decoys now, did the paint hold up?
Beretta A400 is the best out there hands down.
Carlson for my Beretta AL391, because Muller doesn't have any that fit my gun. But maybe that will change, hopefully. And one other ??? Everything "Surviving Duck Season" is now 1 year ago!!! What happened? Where's Surviving Duck Season from 2023-24???
ALL CAPS IN THE COMMENTS! ...uh, I mean .... thanks for the video! :D :D
Me that should be cool to watch turkey loads in slow Mo like that maybe you’ve already done it and I haven’t gone through your videos
Great content! 👍🏼
6 to 7 dozen
Hi, I bought this caller (BG) to help me round up my ducks when I need to close them in for the night (2 Cayuga drakes, if that matters?) I'm trying to blow through it in short bursts and no matter how I do it all I hear is straight whistle. The flat end is the mouthpiece, correct? Am I holding it wrong? Am I supposed to cover the opening under the mouthpiece?🤔🙄🥴
Morello sprig whistle ythe best
Soaking in plain ice water will make meat taste less gamey especially in wild pork
Ur completely correct...... this dude is an idiot........ works the same for deer meat 😂
I have hound hunted all of my life...and still hunted as well...long ago in Texas and 30 years Louisiana and Arkansas.Ive had about 2 pumps, a pump remington 880( real clunky)..and last few years a 700$ Winchester auto Sx4.I dislike all that recoil. Thought it'd never go away..til the Sx4.Now for me it's lighter and easier to tote to walk in where a deer escape route is.With the Sx4 just throw up the bead is close. If you shoot no need to worry about making a good second shot.....you can stay on!
I used BOSS. I loved it, but i mostly use them for my older guns! Now, the TSS/steel mix. My brother and I went half on a case. 5 boxes for the season. I have 1 1/2 boxes left. I was more conservative at first with the cost. After I saw what it could do, I was sold. Now I got the 2 and 9 shot. I've also killed Canadian geese as well. I'll use apex steel/tss over straight steel or bismuth.
Jimmy Muller stands behind his products too. I had one of his tubes that got stuck in a barrel. The gunsmith damaged the tube while removing it. I met with jimmy because he wanted to see the tube and he replaced it for me free of charge on the spot. To me that was going above and beyond.
Risky investment with flyway shifting possibilities
I dove hunt with my beretta 682 o/u with a set of briley non ported been hard to beat it is my Trap gun but barrels are ported but did buy a browning gold hunter this year just to play with and will get smooth chokes just have better outcomes in my experience. Only ported choke I own is a jelly head for a rem 870 super mag to turkey hunt and can kill them out to 70 with hevishot won’t shoot past that at a turkey because that’s not fun to snipe them past that imo. The closer they are the bigger the rush! Moral of the story is you have to shoot your gun and fix your gun for you, you can’t have someone else’s set up and expect it to be the same.

Always butcher your own meat and take care to keep it clean. When butchering, de-bone and get rid of silver skin etc and use that for burger. I haven’t had a “gamey” piece of meat since!
