Very nice video with wonderful photographs. I used that lens in late afternoon on the 2nd January 2023 with an X-E3 at f/8 with 1/30s on burst mode with an ISO of 1250 and one photograph of a squirrel was brilliant, it was very sharp.
Thank you so much Gary.
I got one when I bought a z6ii on eBay and the seller told me about it only used once and it is superb
"Boundaries of sharpness" break at the level of 4k monitor 😁
Brilliant Gary, I would love one of those, but they don't do OM mount as far as I can see. Drat lol
Lovely images as usual. 👍👍
Many thanks and thanks for watching😁👍
I noticed you are using Capture One. Will you be doing any videos on it? I prefer it to Lightroom. Thanks.
I've one ready to go with my editing workflow when using it, and admittedly I don't yet use the software to it's maximum potential. Thanks for watching 😁👍
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer great! Thanks.
Thx for the ideas, much appreciated
Thank you so much for sharing this video with the world, I learnt a lot! Good luck!
Thank you Gary for the short helpful review and the samples! God bless and good luck on your photography journey!
Nice review
Wow 17 elements in 12 groups, no wonder it`s looking as flat as a pancake and as hard as steel. It maybe fast but it comes at a price.
You can use whatever lens, man! The images you shared proof it
Wow have you given up on the fuji system completely....Sony cameras are sharper and have a better autofocus and tracking system than the Fuji.....even though I recently left Sony for Fuji.😀
I would appreciate a video on how to set up the Sony. I find the menus too confusing. I really love this new lens from Sigma. thanks.
One reason I have chosen Sonys because the Menus made made so much more sense to me.
I love Sigma lenses! I own 6 Sigma, 1 Sony G and 1 GM for my A7RV & A7Cii. Personally, 50mm has always been meh to me, but I'd own the 1.2 all day long.
Please drop the music ,it just distracts
Thanks for this excellent tutorial Gary. At last, a tutorial that takes time to go through the exact process for each element of the composite. This filled a lot of missing steps and technques in my understanding of putting composite images together. Thank you.
I’m really glad you found it helpful Brian, many thanks for watching 😁👍
Hello 👋, thank you for the video, do leave ibis on or do you turn it off for ICM?
Hi Gary. As I just got into Reeflex apps and G series lenses are coming tomorrow, I got excited when you said the different ICM effects ea=ch app gives, but then you didn’t mention that again 🤣. Also, I can’t find any other videos you said you were going to make on the Reeflex apps. Do you have a link? Thanks
Thanks for watching John. I’m currently in the process of making other videos with the app and the lenses which arrived on Monday. The videos should be out by mid June. Enjoy your lenses when they arrive😁👍
Thanks Gary, Im sure I will!
Thank you for the video. Interesting. I think I'm gonna try this with some of my own womenportraits. By the way, I saw you have the plugin Infinite Color. I think it would be interesting to use this in the end, giving the picture some nice color grading. Do you know the work of your colleague Trudy Kepke? She makes fine art works with textures and blending modes.
Great tutorial, Garry! Thank you so much for the detail; truly a compositing master class. I find that the most difficult aspect of a project like this is coming up with the inspiration for the concept. But of course you still have to source the individual images, make sure they work together, identify their placements and complete the composite. Quite a project! I learned a lot through your tutorial, Garry. Thank you.
Really glad you enjoyed it Jorge. I know it's a long one, and yet it has to be to hopefully get everything across. Once again many thanks for watching and your comments 😁👍
Nice them Gary at glencoe lovely 😊
Hello Gary. I downloaded your free Ebook 2-3 weeks back but I was on holiday and could not give you feedback right away. I am back and have gone through the ebook in detail. I enjoyed reading it and appreciated the overall guidance you give when it comes to composites. Let me first say that your composites are really awesome, even though I am not a fan of fantasy/sci fi. The ebook focused on elements of composition and visual impact, without necessarily going into the specific details of how to compose an image; ie how to check for color and tonal consistency of the various elements, how to mask and reveal key elements, how to bring the composite to a cohesive whole, etc. I gather that your upcoming course will cover all those aspects in detail. I understand that this is just a helpful "teaser" that, while most welcome, is not the whole story. I like the fact that you invite us to experiment and to learn from our mistakes. And I like the brief explanations. Writing the guide was probably not an easy task; I wonder if the full course will come with a written document or just with videos and resources. If you ask me, the guide would be a nice addition but I don't think it would be essential for the success of your course. I hope you find this feedback valuable somehow. Thank you for your generosity! Jorge.
Hi Jorge , I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Many thanks for this valuable feedback which is really appreciated. You are completely correct in your assumption that this is only a teaser of the upcoming course and indeed is a smaller chapter of the course ebook that will accompany the video tutorials and assets to complete each section. My hope with the course is that it helps both beginners and more advanced users to become familiar with different aspects and the creation of composited images. Again many thanks for your valuable feedback🙏 All the best, Gary
loved what you did with the multi-coloured flower. Would love a video of your how you combined the motion blur and path blur with the flower. Perhaps a slower version so we can all follow along. Many thanks for this video. It was very inspiring.
Sigma 10-18, sigma 18-55 and maybe the 18 1.4
Great images, very creative and mystic.
Great tutorial as usual Gary. Thank you!
SO COOL
that music overlay has a striking resemblance to "fix you"
I'm always inspired by your incredible masterpieces. Ty!
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video😁👍
Really a handy tutorial. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 😁👍
Thanks Gary, I think that for the shadow lines on the model to align perfectly with the lines on the background the light source would have to be at the level of the camera and directed parallel to the axis of the camera lens. If we were to offset the lines on the model from those in the background, i think we would get a more realistic depth and separation. What are your thoughts? Does that make sense? Thanks again.
Totally correct. To refine it further I’d also warp over contour surfaces. This will hopefully help folks get started with it. Thanks for watching😁👍
This is a great way to get started with this. Thanks.
Glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching😁👍
It helps if the lighting makes sense for the subsequent shadows. Shadows fan out(perspective), widen and fade(gradient) the farther from the light.
Totally correct, that’s where I’d add a gradient mask and blend. Thanks for watching😁👍
Really useful, Gary, thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 😁👍
Absolutely brilliant endless possibilities
Glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching 😁👍
This is still ridiculously complicated for such a basic procedure. Adobe are going to be eaten by more user-friendly alternatives like Luminar if they don't make stuff faster and easier IMO
You can do it with a few clicks in Photoshop. The video is aimed at folks that want to create and adjust using a variety of layers. Thanks for watching😁👍
@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer would like to see the easy version for idiots like me, if you ever have the time! cheers!
Muchas gracias.
Super helpful video! Have your thoughts changed at all, another 3 months on?
i moved from Lightroom to C1 because of the speed. its such a difference. only after the switch did i realize how much better and easier editing my fuji files is in C1. keeping it ever since despite the horrible price tag
LrC and PS, I'll always use them. C1 what it does is it treats the image automatically before you can process it. This is a business issue, C1 comes together with Fujifilm for such a case. In conclusion, with the advancement of Photoshop and Lightroom Classic, it shouldn't be a problem. Lightroom shows you the most file in its natural state. There are now more applications or extensions that help improve sharpness or noise in files.
Thanks very much 👍
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it😁👍
love this. I'd love to see more of your workflows,.... please...
5 min video and you don't tell us how long the battery lasts on full power.
Great episode Gary. The "select subject" command makes the process a whole lot easier than in earlier versions of PS.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes 'select subject' saves so much time :) Thanks for watching😁👍
Thank you! Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching 😁👍
Wow great tutorial!
Thanks for watching, glad you found it useful 😁👍
Very impressive. Would you be willing to share those background layers or make a tutorial how to create them? Thanks.
Thanks for watching, yes I'll create a video tutorial on how to create them so that you can make them unique to you 😁👍
Many thanks Gary. Much appreciated.🙏
