Multiple Exposure Trick

In this week's video we take a look at a Multiple Exposure blending trick that you can do with your images if your camera doesn't do in-camera multiple exposures. This technique can also be used on individual images if you want to see what they would be like as multiple exposures.

Nice one Gary. I don't have much interest in using Multiple Exposure in camera (D850), but I do like discovering new tricks in Photoshop. This is one of my favourites. Thanks.

Excellent tip for ME's....I have used the same method in the past but I didn't think to change the blend mode to lighten which obviously mimics the Bright Mode in camera ME's...cheers for this will definitely create an action too.

Thanks for watching Sean, glad you enjoyed it. For me screen worked best doing them this way. I think the Nikon was based on average blend in camera but don’t know about the rest😁👍

I find these videos most tempting to get an Adobe subscription as finding LR standalone so slow as can only use it on old 32bit MacBooks. The only thing that’s holding me back, is I’ve never used PS, seems too daunting with a big learning curve. I have used the old PSE yonks ago a little but gave up as loved LR and no other software matched it for me. Maybe it’s time for PS and your video tutorials. Thanks for sharing Gary as always.

Hey, nice video. But I have a question about this. Is it really a Multi exposure look? Or is it more a so called ICM look? Don't get it Greetings from Germany

Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. I like to think of multiple exposure as a series of single shots at a relatively fast shutter speed although some slight movement is involved. Where as ICM is a longer exposure movement and flow of the image😁👍

@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer okay, got it. But for me, it looks more like an ICM picture than a Multiexposure one. For me the traditional Multiexposure ist e.g having a sunflower as first shot and combining a dog into it (having the eye of the dog as the middle of the flower).

@@christiankorfmann7460 I see what you mean yeah. For me it the technique you describe would be double exposure- combing two different shots to get the final image.
