great job, but in my opinion you could have better spend 700 euro buying a second hand Cannondale Caad 10 bike or should have sought out second hand upgrade parts. I plan on buying a second hand Triban100 for 10 euro and doing low costs repairs and replacement on it. The only thing that worries me is the shifter.

Nice customization. I like the break-swap the most. And not that you mentioned that the new ones are much better, i am also considering it. I also love the RC100 as a base to build something for your own needs... my one got a cheap 36 spoke back wheel 38T crank a 12-42 8speed Microshift Accolyte casette and deraileour, with a heavily bodged shifter installation :S, for a wide range ghetto gravel drive train :) I kept the steel fork, but installed front and rear racks and use it as a touring bike.

I'd save the extra cash to get a bike with a better group set, starting with Claris on a budget bike. It is simply a game changer not having to move your hands from the levers to change gears.
@vincekerrigan83006 ай бұрын
Actually it is not a problem, certainly if you were brought up on down tube shifters. A long time'brifter' user I actually now prefer this shifter. It is very precise and much quicker than 'brifters'.

Thank you for making this video, but where did you buy the parts? especially the camponello potenza brakes? Also, maybe you can help me out with this question, I am a guy and I want to buy the Triban Easy - the girl bike, Size L of Triban easy has all exactly the same dimensions as size L of Triban RC 100. The Triban easy only has the Stem 2 cm shorter. But for the money, compared to the Triban RC 100 it offeres an extra gear in the rear, and also double break systems, and gear changing on the break lever, not on the handlerbars like the RC 100. I would just update the brakes to camponello potenza but I can't find them anywhere

@davapod Жыл бұрын
Should not be an issue. I have swapped out square taper BB's many times for Hollowtech, as long as your BB is std. It will be on the RC120. Hope this helps.😎

That's why they say choose a better bike then you don't need to upgrade. Spending €700 euros on €240 bike is just a bad decision.
@jokermaan1 Жыл бұрын
He says that the €700 includes the original cost of the bike, so his upgrades were €440. Still quite a bit though. I have one myself and am planning some upgrades too. I wouldn't go for a carbon fork or both new wheels though. 700x25 road tyres, a Shimano Claris groupset and maybe a new saddle would be a valid upgrade I'd say, although that would require a new back wheel on an early model like mine.

My next upgrade is the carbon fork, I am just not sure what dimensions I need to don’t make the mistake. Also cos I use 35c tires, would love to put 38c but If I buy the wrong fork I can’t not put the big tires no more. Can anyone help me out with the dimensions?
@filsm140 Жыл бұрын
Usually in the specs for forks they say the max tire width it can support. Since you are more than 28, I would look at gravel bike forks if that's the size you like. Road bike forks max out usually around 25-28. The stem usually comes long and can be trimmed to fit the frame size you have.
