Speaking as more of a wrestling fan than an UFC fan (I still watch UFC) I don’t like Rhonda cause she couldn’t take criticism at all. In the WWE, first of all she was not a s good as the other women, and she took other talents spots, whether it be WrestlerMania or the Royal Rumble. When the fans booed her for the first time she was so butt hurt. Then she started attacking the fans, which I do understand taking what you dish out but when it’s to the people that pay that help pay your bills is not a great image in the media. When she was a bad guy she couldn’t do the act to save her life. And then just completely ruining another wrestlers name by a weak accusation just pisses me off and I don’t think Drew put his hands in her pants but that’s besides the point. Her ego is earned when it comes to the UFC but in the WWE she ain’t the shit.

I was at school with a big Samoan man who was a top amateur boxer....James Peau. He was a gentle giant. Not too bright. The girls loved him. He went on to become professional, after winning a Commonwealth gold medal at heavy weight. He went by the name of Jimmy Thunder. I used to feel a bit inferior to him. He always had an attractive girlfriend, had a lot of fans. But he didn't do so well in the professional ranks; he was too muscle bound and slow. Years later I heard he was homeless in Las Vegas, probably suffering from being punch drunk. Penniless too. He ended up being deported to NZ, and died in his early 50s from complications from surgery for a brain tumour. The boxing business is brutal.

One thing I really did like about Ronda Rousey was that she was a Huge Dragonball fan. She would dress up in clothes like Vegeta which I thought was pretty cool as a big fan myself.

Ben Askren trade was great for the UFC... EVERYTHING Ben was involded in had ENORMOUS fanfare. He turned Masvidal into a MEGASTAR. WHICH ALSO brought MEGAFIGHTS(In terms of how much fans wanted to see them). The UFC isnt crying at all over this deal.

This could have been a 5-minute video. It's like spending 45 minutes explaining why driving while drunk isn't a good idea. Ya, we get it. This is overwrought, sentimentalized garbage. Also, the majority of fighters didn't choose between a college degree or fighting. They are lower middle-class or poor. They aren't fighting for the glory. They need money and aren't able to find work or keep a 9 to 5 job. Mr. Narrator spent 0 minutes discussing the socioeconomic component. Stop glazing this guy because he's able to speak in complete (edited) sentences.

Giving money for research is only a token. The damage will continue until the head strikes stop. People will do anything to get fame and feed their family. Unfortunately the family all suffer in the end as much as the one with the affliction.

Not me. I called Holly knocking her out for 2 years prior to their fight, and everyone told me that I was nuts. Then, the night of the fight, I called KO via head kick and ended up taking several of my buddies drinking money. Lol

Throughout my college wrestling career, I competed at 126 pounds. I would drop over 20 pounds each week, starting at 150 lbs plus on Sunday and reaching my target weight, 126 lbs, by Thursday's dual. I'd maintain the weight until after the tournament on Saturday, then my weight would shoot back up to 150 or more. As the season progressed, this "weight bouncing" increasingly impacted my ability to compete at my best. My accomplishments were good but my greatness was compromised by the huge weight cuts each week ~ I regret it to this day! Should have went up in weight or maintained my weight better. Weight cutting sucks!

Ronda absolutely pioneered womens MMA, and she was a big part of that 2013-16 MMA boom which will never be replicated. In many ways it doesn't have to be. You're right in saying that while Conor took the UFC in general to new heights, Ronda was right there with him. She has every right to be celebrated, and celebrate herself for that. But what's sad is, she won't be remembered or celebrated for that. She'll be remembered for that headkick (in my hometown of Melbourne) and Amanda dominating her and, particularly, how she took those losses. Holly killed her and Amanda buried and cremated her but moreover, they both have one thing in common. They exposed her. I get it, it would be mentally challenging if your goal to retire undefeated as champion was snatched so quickly and brutally, especially seeing Amanda go on to do just that. But if she had just been humble, accepted defeat, in many ways passed the torch like you said and congratulated the phenomenal athletes that managed to defeat her, she likely still would be remembered and celebrated as the pioneer of womens MMA. It's a shame, it really is. Great video. Also, god that really was a historic card. I didn't know until you said it that UFC 193 had a womens main and co-main event. So not only do we hold the title for 2 of the biggest attendances in UFC history (UFC 243 would go on to do it again in the same stadium), but I can't think of many if any other times where that's happened. I feel proud.

She started losing because she started facing actual fighters. She basically made the women’s division and the talent pool was lacking hard. Chicks were getting signed just so they can have female fight cards. She was totally outclassed as soon as the real fighters were signed.

Watching Chuck Liddell and Nate Diaz really saddens me as I like both of them. Their facilities are clearly impacted. The dangers are clear but Joe Rogan makes a good point. People take unnecessary chances all the time. Are we going prohibit all dangerous behavior to save people from themselves?

The main reason I avoid boxing gyms is exactly this. I dont have dreams of becoming a pro fighters(too old at 29 anyway), but there is always someone there who takes sparring personally and attempts to take your head off. Im not learning anything, im just getting beat up. I learned more during Muay Thai sparring(which is generally lighter and more technical) than I ever did boxing. I dont want brain damage, I just want to train.

When fighters talk about a bad episode while weight cutting the symptoms they describe like blurry vision to the point of feeling blind, numb face, feeling like your body wants to lock up.. are all symptoms of extremely low blood sugar. I'm a type 1 diabetic and have had a few close calls in my lifetime and everything they're saying happens when I get too low. I wonder if any fighter has taken the time to test their blood sugar during one of their weight cuttng scares.. of course they have more things to worry about but it would still be interesting to know.

I've gone up and down over the years on her but in the end she' s just a damaged girl with fear of failing her parents who put so much pressure on her. It's a combination of ego and deep-seated insecurity. She deserves a good deal of the disdain but I think people do overkill when it comes down to it.
