You guys did the thing! You shot your own Fusion Exhaust port! 😆
canada's wonderland has shamed this ride with their current version only thing that works anymore on it is the coaster on the tracks, no effects, no sounds, nothing. Miss this version.
Thanks so much for sharing this video. It's Just incredible footage.
There is a cat in the hat meet and greet next to the preview Center
Hey :3 I released the MIB Alien Attack Soundtrack
0:17: Let the experience begin!
This was my FAV ride on Tomorrowland! The sounds alone (especially that scream when the Rocket Rods themselves were in motion) I’ll never forget!
IT WAS SO AMAZING TO SEE A WALK-THROUGH OF THE CAT IN THE HAT RIDE!!!!!
Bummer we never got the nighttime spec or the transportation boats, but everything else looks JUST like what we got - amazing stuff from Universal Creative & team
Incredible stuff Dave, WOW!! Thank you for the upload!
just stumbled upon this video and im hooked. This is sooo cool , I haven't been to islands of adventure since 2000. I think it may be time to pay a visit.
Dave cobb what’s up!
I love how this feels like a time traveler recorded all of this, awesome recording
Amazing quality for one of the very few videos of this ride. Too bad GM backed out and the tracks were not banked so the ride could not be maintained when the Imagineers put this ride together. It should have been rebuilt like Test Track at Epcot which is supported by GM but instead with the short cuts made the cement could not take the beating with the heavier cars and after just a few years the ride was closed permanently, and the track cannot be used for anything now so it sits abandoned above Disneyland while Disney World remained true to its original design and still operates in 2024.
Your channel is amazing!! Thank you so much for all the work you've done to make amazing experiences like this. I remember coming to USF with a friend in middle school and riding MIB over and over for hours because it was a slow day and the line was short. I know its always exciting to see new rides or parks open but i wish more effort was put into keeping older rides in the best possible condition. If MIB got a really nice refurbishment I'd be so happy. Even as it is its one of my must-dos whenever I visit. Anyways, thank you again. 😭
I toured this preview center in late 1997 and still have the pre-opening IOA shirt that I bought there. However, I didn't remember how large and elaborate it was compared to today's rather skimpy Epic Universe preview center, which I visited recently. The IOA preview center tried to create the experience of actually walking through the finished park, and Citywalk too. The Epic center is more like a simple map room with merchandise. There's also much less lead time before the park opening. I suppose the greater availability of public information today accounts for a lot of the downscaling. You can find an endless supply of Epic construction photos and preview videos online if desired. A physical place to hold introductory info to help market the park just isn't as important in 2024.
Watching in 2024 and how cool is this video!? Came here b/c now the Epic Universe preview center is open. P.S.- Loving the '90s jeans ha
Here from Rat Castle❤ what's this Survivor hat?? Love it!
that was from SURVIVOR THE RIDE, which I designed for Paramount's Great America -- it's not there anymore tho
@@DaveCobbIdeaguy holy shit. Survivor and theme parks are my two favorite things on the face of the planet. Thank you for your work 🫡
@@dumpling_prince there’s a video about it here on my channel under the “Paramount Parks” playlist
They went all out! It looks incredible!
This is a far better preview center than Epic’s.
I hope they turn Lost Contents into a Zelda land
Unfortunately this version of the ride crippled the people mover track.
Thanks for sharing this with us, Dave! Amazing to see the birth of IOA.
It's too bad that nighttime spectacular never came to pass. The commentary from everyone is also fascinating, knowing that Islands of Adventure was not only a huge step up from the Studios but also for the industry.
Something like this has to be done with Epic Universe!!!
38:20 they use to spin the hell out that car on this part 😂😂😂
21:22 man I almost cried they really erased a good ass ride 😢
Thank you for sharing Dave - this is AMAZING!
This footage is incredible! Congrats on finding this rare piece of theme park history!
Oh Wowsers!!!!!!
Six months from opening, IOA did seem quite far off from opening. And look how they pulled it through. Epic now looks pretty much where IOA was when this was filmed. What a fascinating piece! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, quite awhile ago, eh?
This is amazing footage! Was there on the 25th anniversary a few days ago, it’s pretty cool to see ripsaw falls under construction, and a full walkthrough of the cat in the hat. Wish they would take more care of that ride, especially the animatronics, some of them have stains on them, just about all of the Cat animatronics do not move as good as they used to, got some pics too. The fish animatronics seem to be working fine. As for Ripsaw and Popeyes, seems they have been fixing a lot of the effects and animatronics back into decent working order, some of the ones that weren’t working last time I went back in March are now working very good. Other than that much of the park looks the same as it did on opening day. Thanks so much for sharing this!
This is amazing!!!
_this is insane!_
*_that old IOA logo goes hard_*
Wow this is incredible! Thank you for posting this!!
LOVE this footage - thanks so much for sharing. IoA is on the short list of my favorite places on planet Earth.
This is incredible! What an honor to work on MIB and to get a tour of Islands!!!
being someone that currently works in this park this is amazing
Wow, this is so awesome. Amazing footage to share on IOA's 25th anniversary - thank you!
Wow, what a gift this is! Thank you so so much for digging out and uploading such a treat for us all to enjoy! I was there the year after it opened, cant believe its been 25 years. Happy bday IOA!
Thank you so much for this! Amazing!
2:22 probably one of the first times the word “confiscos” has been said on camera 🤣🤣
YOOOOOO THIS IS GOLD.
how convenient that this was uploaded the day the park opened. now i can see what islands of adventure looked like way before i existed.
WOW. Seriously incredible stuff!
I was an attendant at Doctor Doom's Fearfall from 2010 to 2012 so I could immediately recognize the sounds that ride makes all throughout the video. That ride is really loud.
Incredible
Thank you so much for this, it's sick. And to know this is what people are experiencing at Epic gives me chills.
