Lee Buck Trevino is the all-time undefeated heavyweight champion of simplicity!! Including keeping the left hand facing the target with as little face manipulation as possible. No man since Ben Hogan understands the swing like this Mexican maestro. Which perfectly illustrates why a sound grip is so fundamental to great golf. Lee demonstrated this perfectly by showing the endless number of ways the club can twist in a players hands. Hold on firmly with the left hand with a grip that is not too strong. Explained in language a four year old could understand!! Better than instruction, by any teacher known to mankind.

When I was a kid growing up in San Antonio in the early 90's, my teachers would ask me if I was related to Lee Trevino the golfer. My name is Joseph Trevino, Lee's dads name LOL. No relation, or at least I think! But here I am, hitting my early 40's watching videos of "How To's" from no other than Lee Trevino. Serendipity.

Some years ago golf pro spoke to him about acuracy and Lee said. There was a time when i could drive a bsll and hit a door at 200 yards. Now I can put it through the key hole. He was challenged to hit a certain point in the distance.....and he did. Bravo. Great bloke. Great golfer and entertainer. 😅😅😅😅

Golf needs more "Lee Trevinos". Modern golf lack the personalities. They are taught to show no emotion whether they make a good or bad shot. Johnny Miller was another great personality. Boy did he wear his emotions on his sleeve. The emotions we see during the Ryder cup would do golf very well on the PGAT. With that said, love Lee's instructions. A top 5 fave golfer. I am late to the game but thanks for posting!

@ 1:30 weight on front foot AND KEEP THE HEAD DOWN AND THE CLUB HEAD ACCELERATING THROUGH THE BALL. I see my playing partners and others who struggle with their short games take short choppy practice swings, and then hit shot the same way stopping the club head just after impact.

This is a REALLY STUPID VIDEO !!! There's ABSOLUTELY NO DEBATE AT ALL HERE - all you have to do IS LOOK AT THEIR RECORDS !! Trevino had a NICE record but Nicklaus had a ONCE IN A 500 YEAR RECORD !! The ONLY golfer that's even CLOSE is PIECE OF TRASH WIFE CHEATER Woods and he FELL SHORT of Niclaus's MAJORS MARK so SORRY all you WOODS LOVING LOSERS but your FADED HERO IS #2 !!

I know this tape is from the late 60's. So interesting to see a very young Lee with persimmon woods and the old bladed irons. Oh if the golfers of today had any idea how much easier the game is in terms of ball striking compared to the 1960's.

If Trevino was young now he would have more majors than Rory and Spieth combined. If Jack were young now he would be as long as Dechambeau is and he would win as often as Tiger did in his prime. Tiger never dealt with a prime Palmer Nicklaus Watson Casper Player Weiskopf Miller Watson Norman and Seve. They were really good and did not accept second place.
