    That Secret Labs desk has had me drooling since they launched it. Metal and Magnets, DOH! From the full desk pad, super easy cable management, nice deep desk; what is not to love. I am curious however if they have considered some adjustemtn to the design for the upse of a UPS with your rig? You could plug the power strip from the desk into the UPS but if there is more than the monitor and PC asking for power this can create some issues. Would be neat if they did a second power connection on the desk (kind of like they did the network) so that one connection could be for on battery and the other on surge.

    Great video, lots of super info. My own experience has been if your in a dark or a well light controlled environment Glossy is the way to go. If the room is brighter or has light directed at the display Matte wins.

    Another reviewer said the coating is semi glossy. Which I think is a good inbetween from matte and glossy. Great video btw pointing out the differences between matte and glossy. One of the first to properly do this.

    Nice Video. Still feels very weird that LG is not offering a glossy option on their monitors when for a lot of people, a smaller monitor version of their 42 C Series would be the perfect endgame monitor.

    Wait, there coming out with a 480Hz 1440P monitor? (EDIT:) DisplayPort 1.4 only goes up to 355Hz at 1440P. I learned this when I got the ASUS 360Hz IPS monitor and whenever the FPS reached the 360Hz the monitor would go black for a second. I noticed it was a hand shaking issue between my GPU and monitor. Like switch inputs on a TV. Finaly, I did some digging and came across a wiki page explain the DP standard and DP 1.4 can only do 355Hz but DP 2.0 can go much higher. Until they make GPU (on the Nvidia side) DP 2.0 and the monitor DP 2.0 then 480Hz isn't going to work right.

  • @badseedtech
    @badseedtech8 сағат бұрын

    You’re correct about DP1.4. The monitor will likely use HDMI 2.1.

    To those that still doesnt know, Asus VRR flicker mitigation is basically increasing the minimum vrr range ie. from 48-240 to 120-240. VRR flicker is most noticeable if you are using HDR or SDR mode but low brightness.

    I've always preferred a glossy monitor. I had a Dell XPS 15 laptop that had glass and it was the best. The caveat about ambient light is definitely true, but its very rare to be in a situation where you can't find somewhere or some angle to minimize it, even on a laptop. Great video. I'm excited about all these competing OLEDs coming out.

    I never understand the pricing of 1440 oled screen. Its 700 dollars, if one can afford that price, one most likely have a beastly set up that can run 4k. And most would prefer going 4k ips rather than 1440 oled. I know one could see value for them, like HDR and low latency, but its priced very awkwardly for the majority.
