    Just a quick question mate. Are all the MKT 75 power chambers identical to the all the other model numbers? Is it just the plastic bell that denotes the frequency?

  • @m3nathan
    @m3nathan5 ай бұрын

    Yeah that's right, mkt75-400 would be 400hz and so on. There are a few variations of the mkt75 power chamber floating around but as far as I know the mkt75 name carries through the line up

  • @aleksandartan7057

    @@m3nathan cheers for clearing that one up. I have an MKT 75/660 but I can’t find a MKT 75/370 for the life of me. All the suppliers are overseas and won’t sell to private buyers. The only mob I know of are Eurohorns but they’re out of stock of the 370. Would you be able to shed any light on where I could find one? I have a Zöllner Makrofon M75F 370, but I’d love to add the Kockum 75/370 to the collection.

    what frequencies were they?

  • @m3nathan
    @m3nathan Жыл бұрын

    Unfortunately I can't find the notes I made on the day. Although some interesting things are: my mate filming almost vomited and lost his balance when I blew the tiny, short 800hz bell, it really shook him. I have a stack of spacers that allow the plastic bells to be arranged so they replicate an RS5T Leslie's frequencies and also a Nathan K5LA, I haven't done it but there's plenty of options.

  • @buzzytrains9037
    @buzzytrains90379 ай бұрын

    If kockum sonics still sell the 260 311 and 440 bells you should be able to make the combinations for a leslie RS2M, RS2A and RS3L. Another thing is that if you get the 311 and 370 bells you'll be able to copy the sound of the GT46C-ACE locomotives.@@m3nathan

    This was a cool project. Thanks for trusting us with the bell. The original speaker was faulty so we installed a replacement from Jaycar which actually fit perfectly surprisingly. Poor speaker design was the culprit. I think the speaker coil tinsel lead wires had corroded, fatigued and thus caused open circuit. Warming up the solder joints didn’t help so I ended up having to disassemble the entire unit, remove the phenolic compression diaphragm then carefully scrape off the epoxy adhesive from the voice coil and gently pry off the coil wire to obtain a length long enough so that I could resolder it onto the terminals. It’s repaired and working now, but the replacement speaker is a much better component; it’s louder, more durable, and of higher fidelity too!
