Benny, do you still like this board?
This board in 6-8ft is awesome
I love this board
Great video thanks so much for the invaluable advice.
Always like your vids. Short, sweet and to the point.
I have retro fish 5’10” 36l. Rides like dream. I also have 6’ shortboard thinner. Had hard time catching fatter over head waves. Would u say groveler board like this would solve that problem? This board would ride more like shortboard or like retro fish
With all due respect, I am not sure you have the competency level required to talk aboard surfboard performance...Need some serious time focusing on some fundamentals....
Sure longboarder
Always wondered where a persons individual buoyancy fits in this. I am negatively buoyant so figure I need to add a bit of volume but after numerous boards this doesn’t seem to always ring true.
What fin is that? Can you share the name please?
cheers bro this was really usefull, you are a genius!
Just found a clean used one for $175. I’m stoked! I was ready to drop 850
The fact that it would be incredibly hard to hand shape a custom board to a specific volume should be taken into account when listening to shapers complaints. Sure volume absolutely isn’t everything, but my god it’s helpful. People getting into micro adjustments in volume might be kind of ridiculous, but still, in general volume is a very helpful measurement to know when purchasing a board.
What I an about to tell you is a true story as witnessed by me. The names have been changed to protect the idiotic and entitled spoiled brats of La Jolla. In about 2005 I was surfing wind and sea and Benny happened to be out that day as well. A local who had grown up in La Jolla paddled over and started calling Benny a kook because he wasn’t born there. Benny was calm cool and collected. He just was kinda blowing the guy off telling him whatever. The local started repeatedly screaming in his face calling him a kook. Even the older locals were trying to calm the guy down saying he has lived here most of his life and save the hostility for non locals. Benny was visibly starting to get pissed. Finally saying, “ alright, if you have a problem with me let’s go handle it on the beach.” They went in. After catching a wave and getting out I see them talking on the shoreline. That’s when I see the local charge at Benny. Benny then proceeds to kick the crap out of that spoiled brat. The locals brother had to pull him away still kicking and screaming. Justice was served that day. All was well in the universe. Love your board reviews dude. Haven’t seen a new one in a while. Hope everything is going well.
I have a 6'4 XFC and that thing goes! Very finely tuned.
Why only surf 2/3 of the board? Ever do a stretch five in the tube? Glad you're stoked!
Help with sizing please with a 3/2 Tumo...I am 5'9.5" and 168lbs with plan to gain 5lbs (10lbs max) and went with a LS but wonder if the M would work. I know they have a ML but that's in the new line and not the warehouse sale versions. ANY HELP WOULD BE AMAZING!
Beautiful Smile. Good luck
Hey Benny. Was your Chopper PU or Epoxy?
Hello, i'm thinking to buy a board like this, but a 5'4"x20.25"x2.32" , 28,5 L .I'm fit, 5'8" and around 150 lbs, do you think can i afford It? Thanks for the answer!
I guess you weigh around 100kg? Great review
Heey guys i wanna buy long surfboard mee 89 kg and 1.80 what volume is right to buy it im bignner?!!??
Great. Nothing like science approach...More tests on weight vs volume vs length and as you say rocker. 👍
Can I learn on a 6' log if I'm 5'4 150lbs? As opposed to the 7'?
You’re gonna wanna try something with at least 60L of volume. If you haven’t started yet
Benny I know this video is older but I just can’t find much else out there about this board and one popped up on Craigslist. It seems like it’s meant as a better wave shape but do you think it works as an all around ?
Are you going to review the CI Bobby Quad!?!??!?!??!?!!?
Are you going to review the CI Bobby Quad!?!??!?!??!?!!?
Price? Useless video
it cost me so much money to get my Liters on spot lol but hey it is worth if you love this sport !
What’s your weight and size ,
I thought it was supposed to be a cool paint job. You could train a monkey to do this job. Sorry JMO. Maybe use some masking tape to add some character. Sorry mate, you screwed up a brand new board.
i cant find no board like the v3 rocket .any suggestions?
I cant find no board that work good like v3, rocket any suggestions
how does this compare to the skipper 6'6"?
The step is what made a little longer board surf like a shortboard.
Hey , know this review it’s a bit too old but how do you compare the peri peri to the CI happy everyday ?
You can also lower volume when speed increases on glassy big waves .my 6.1 is 33l My 6.5 pin is also 33l
Tyler Warren Soap Bar?
For small surf (1-4 foot waves) would you recommend Rusty Smoothie or CI Rocket wide?
Great video. I think you should ride what volume you feel works for you and your situation
bro where can i buy a bench like that? Great review btw, just ordered one.
Ok so my first board at 20 years old was a 6’4” CI OG Flyer. Ate it a lot but got really good at paddling and duck diving. Thing is I’m 6’2” and weigh 220. Then I thought ok well I can’t even stand on this thing because the minute I pop up the board sinks under me. So I got a Pyzel gremlin 6’4” but it had like 47L so it’s got more volume. A lot easier to paddle but I haven’t caught many waves. So now I’m looking at getting a 7’ log and once I get my pop up and everything straight I guess hop back on the gremlin. Thoughts??
Hey man! Can you review the 2022 editions?
Hi, this channel is wonderful. Can you answer me a question? I have 5′ 11" and 165lb. The bobby quad 6'2 / 6'4 serves for beginner that a small wave surf and a surf without much maneuver. Or would Avarage Joe/Ultra Joe be better? Thank you very much

Magic board design back in late 1980s...rode many a good wave on one of these 🌈🌸
There has to be a ratio that is more specific, using applied physics, to calculate a surfer's exact weight to find the correct amount of liters, or volume, that will float their body mass at the desired level of buoyancy above water. But how would the shaper be able to calculate when the board is nearing the correct volume? This ratio of applied physics should be taught in high school or even higher education.
One liter of water weighs about a kilogram. That's 2.2 pounds of MEAT! "One litre of water has a mass of almost exactly one kilogram when measured at its maximal density, which occurs at about 4 °C. It follows, therefore, that 1000th of a litre, known as one millilitre (1 mL), of water has a mass of about 1 g; 1000 litres of water has a mass of about 1000 kg or a megagram"
So does that mean one milligram = 0.000001 or one millionth of a liter?
Review a Dhd dna
This guy cannot surf
I thought 32.5L would be nice for me but now I really wish I hadnt have gone above 30
