imo cybernetic is a much better ascension than genetics, especially if you play teravore which imo is the much more interesting build for this, since you cannot remove void dweller traits so you will always have a negative impact from planets even hive worlds or ecumenpolies, keep focusing on mega engineering for the ring worlds, and ring worlds actually get bonuses like habitats instead of ecumenpolis
Why do I built research labs on the mining worlds? The research labs need consumer goods?!

I don’t do Iron man mode, but don’t save scum, it’s primarily to prevent a painful issue likely leaving it running during a war while you go to the bathroom and you forget to pause.
I can't wait to get home and start a new build.

Thanks man, this is exactly what I was looking for. Been playing Stellaris for a while now but I never min/max or got too deep into the systems, I just like to roleplay my empires. That said, I am getting tired of my hard work getting destroyed by the freaking Khan or an Awoken FE
This is was so helpful. I am fairly new to Stellaris and was trying to figure out if it's worth building stations over resources (mining, research etc.) as a Void Dweller or if I should only build habitats. Couldn't find any clear info until I found this video. Thanks man!
You can build both orbiting a planet
@@BARBARBINKLE Yeah I know I can, the question was should I build mining/research stations or should I build only habitats over the planets with those resources. Or both?
@@Idolismo its definitely worth making a few extra construction ships to build both. As void dwellers you need the extra minerals and research early game as your capital is going to be mainly focused on producing alloys so you can expand.

this with ringworld origin trait and necrotic spore is perfect for a flood build from halo. I often times leave them in my game with an advanced AI start to spice things up a bit.

this is the hardest origin to play imo
One issue I have with this build is that using remnant origin is that it gives your bio pops relic world preferences doubling the upkeep cost on other worlds. I think it might be better going Prosperous union start
Tell me if this is stupid guys, but if i was running this i would put food and mineral producing buildings on the other empires and leave my planets for more important things like alloys, consumer goods, etc would that play well or what
What version of the game are you playing this in?
I honestly spam Battleships for all my fleets with hull regeneration because I've found it's the ships that get damaged in your first fight dying in the second fight is where I sustain the most losses. Battleship hitpoints keep them from dying. Disrupters are lifesavers against higher tech adversaries. I remember preparing a 1 to 1 fleetpower vs a fallen empire and being floored how I wiped the floor with them my first playthrough. So much of their fleet power is shields and armor.
Don’t click status quo do achieve war goal aka left one, make sure to capture the planet or the system won’t count as captured. gl
I feel like new ayers are always going to go wide, becaus that makes sense. But with a little experience, (ive only got 250 hours in) i can see how a tall empire is just as much fun to play and challenging in its own way.
4 years later and this video only has 77 likes ( I am the 77th) is criminal. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I came very late into the Alpha stage of the game. I came a couple builds back into Alpha 21. From what I hear I missed out on "The good old days". But nonetheless, you explained quite a few things in detail that I already had a 95% clue as to what to do and what not o do but you clarified it for me. I really appreciate it. Now if you start with remnants origin you bio pop have relic world preference. I don’t try this before machine age update and in wiki relic world preference should not access able by any thing other than Omnicodex relic generation. build not work now.
Why not pick the Nonadaptive trait since it doesn't affect Void Dwellers at all and gain 2 points that way instead of Sedentary and Slow Learners?
Do you think you could update this for 3.12? I only say this because I'm assuming all the Machine types will be radically different once Machine Age drops.

I used to run Docile on Bio Trophies, cus when they changed empire size and pop growth to the curve it seemed to brick Rogue Servitors, especially when you conquered someone else, or, as happened in a few MP games, got gifted a planet full of squishies to make a new zoo, and suddenly find that your next machine pop will take 10k years to produce. Is it safe to assume that they fixed this?
Prosperous unification is also a good choice instead of remnants if your having a hard time playing early game

you can spam them if you are using lithoid, however if you play teravore thats better, and focus early game on spaming corvettes and eating planets

Hivemind Lithoids are basically broken. I played as them once and got so powerful so quickly that it became boring. You don't have to work food jobs so nothing you produce is pointless, and because you're a Hive, you can either diplo your way to Emperor whether they like it or not, or become the Crisis
