I remember apple getting absolutely bashed for how big the screen was on the 5, everyone making jokes they would make it taller and taller every year until it was comically huge. In hindsight it's a small phone though haha.

There is absolutely no way that the new snapdragon pictured in this video is in any way a competitor to Apple silicon. That chip is at most a 1/4 of the area of any M-Series chip.
Fact: X Elite SoC is much stronger, than any AMD or Intel chip, has much longer power supply, offering much better NPU and having 5G integrated finally. So don‘t compare it to an Apple laptop, but with all Windows laptops offered before.

they put the m4 in the ipad first to try and make it more pro. they are trying to get more people to buy it by giving it something no other mac device yet has. in reality it does not offer enough reasons to upgrade from the m1 ipad. i use my ipad to draw. two things they could do to get me to upgrade is to offer a larger 16 inch screen or make it easier to transfer a procreate file to photoshop on my mac. the way it is now i end up with many revisions because my mac and ipad don't handle files the same way. transferring work isn't seamless.

All MAC's have ALWAYS been the worst MAC's in decades. Mac computers SUCK! They've always sucked, and most likely always will. But at least CRapple has a great PR department...

So now that the M4 architecture was released, this video kind of aged.... not so well... M3 was an interim architecture, M4 being cheaper to produce and apparently increased performance by a bigger margin. As long as the Apple silicon is good, I stay with Apple, I just love their ecosystem which is the reason for their success. Apple was successful in the Intel era (despite Intel inside) and will stay successful.
MAC computers are crap . They dont hold up and they are Hard to repair ; they're too espencive for the price , for $2500 you can buy a Gaming PC with 10 times the computing power that will do the same thing as a MAC . Plus do film and sound editing and run AI locally, You also have a larger choice of software and apps you can run on it
I miss my earpods. I remember using them so much throughout college. and always, after 3 months of use, they would break so that only one of them was working. But boy, do I miss them.

Microsoft lost me a long time ago. Then I tried Dell XPS with 4k screen and MS lost me for good. I don't trust MS can do anything that works as well as macos (for reference I have bunch of MS server certs so no lack of skill...)

Unfortunately Adobe Premiere Pro still doesn’t make that much use of the GPU hardware. Apple’s own Final Cut a lot faster as it’s optimised for the GPU and other co processors. Final Cut doesn’t run the PC so there is a still a big speed advantage if people are willing to use a different program. In general Apple wants developers to use their APIs, and if they do, the advantages be with Mac still.
Windows is a better option for most people for most tasks.. I used the apple ecosystem exclusively for close to a decade, until a few days ago.. Now i have two very capable machines at home, both can do 100% of the work i need done, im in the creative field so this involves video and picture manipulation and creation and the only difference i noticed is that the windows machines are still kinda ugly esthetically and kinda bulky to carry everything else in terms of power can be done by both platforms for under 2k, but i can upgrade my cpu, my ram and my storage on my windows machine, i cant upgrade anything on my macbook, and this is not okay

You forgot to mention that unless Apple made the switch to ARM it would have never been possible. Apple forced the creative tools embrace of ARM by adopting a product that no one else did. Windows is a bloated, dated, piece of garbage. Apple realized this way back when, threw out the paradigm and made the switch to OSX. I regularly use 90GB RAM during development and max out the M3 max CPU; the fans barely ever kick on. Benchmarks are the only thing I’ve encountered that kicked the fans full tilt. 1. Battery won't last a year (6 months if lucky) 2. I had the Level Touch edition before greedy Level decided to not support Home Key (yeah whatever hardware limitation, could've at least offered a trade-in with some discount to upgrade to Level+), but the touch to lock/unlock barely worked, and if it did work, it took 10+ seconds. Never again, Level.

This video provides a nice balanced perspective on Windows/PC versus Mac. Many people do not realize that the choice is not black and white, but 16k shades of grey. I haven't tried a Mac since the mid 80's, but I once had an IPhone for use at work. As the casual user I am, I did not really notice the difference between my Android phone and the IPhone, but the IPhone worked fine. I'm using Android because the phones are way cheaper than comparable IPhones, and because of the massive amount of available brands, specifications and designs. Not because IPhones are bad, because they are not.
Does Finder have a hide/show hidden files button available that is easy to use? I just have a terminal command would loooove a Finder button to click instead.
A windows PC with a powerful arm soc and a separate high power nvidia gpu would be the best of 2 worlds.... Then you can work with low power because of the soc, and if you want to game, then the nvidia gpu fires up.....
honestly an M series ultra chip in a pro laptop would be insane. Or a M Series chip with only efficiency cores. Slow but extremely powerefficent. For people who don't do intensive things and just want insane battery life
takes some time to understand how it works, but once you know, its pretty cool. Made a shortcut that reports when i started charging my phone, how much it charged, and the time it took to charge it to that level with an option to store it as a log file.
Honestly for something like iPad you don't need performance increases who cares if you give 30% more battery life people will be far happier

You can preorder Snapdragon X Elite laptop 40% or $1 000 less vs. similarly specced Apple M3 MacBook and better I/O. Apple will be in a world of hurt.
