Robotic vacuums have been iterating rapidly on one another and the new DEEBOT T20 OMNI from ECOVACS is probably one of the best. With a new hot-water mop washing system and a hot air dryer, you can go days or weeks without even thinking about the base station and thanks to excellent navigation and mapping capabilities, it'll get stuck less often than any other vacuum on the market (hasn't gotten stuck even once for me)!

Does the app communicate with the vacuum locally, or through the cloud ? Like, if their servers are down, would the vacuum still work, and be controllable, through the local network ?
Snazzy, it’s starting to get difficult to trust your opinion on purchase decisions. Every robot you review is “the best you used”. And comparing the Ecovacs to “the other popular brand that we all know”, doesn’t hold up strong to the Roborock video you’ve posted just 1 month ago. This is the best I've used. And I have no doubt that the next Roborock will be the best I've used. Here's my unsponsored take: the Roborock app is best in class and can't be beat. Their vacuuming performance on carpet with the new DuoBrush is as good as the old bristle brushes but without the tangles. This vacuum doesn't excel on carpet as I said in the video but it does have two side brushes which I feel helps it pick up a little more consistently on hardwood floor and its mopping performance is second to only the Narwal Freo. But the Narwal Freo is expensive and it's awful as a vacuum with no auto-empty function. Additionally, the T20 OMNI is an incredible navigator which is great because you don't have to use the-worse than Roborock-app as frequently. I think it depends on what you prioritize. If you prioritize vacuuming and the app, the S8 Pro Ultra is incredible. If you prioritize mopping and obstacle detection, the T20 OMNI is incredible. They're so close you can't go wrong with either of them and I'm sure the next vacuum I try will be better than both. But we've reached diminishing returns. Everything is good now and that's great.

If you going to do a sponsor video ever robot vacuum you should do a full comparison video, not sponsored by a vacuum, of all of them so we know which one is actually better. Also, Roomba has the ability to order cleaning rooms when scheduling. Not sure if it works with the mop(vacuum combo but does work with the normal vacuum.

Can you let us know how it is so far? Every video I come across seems to be sponsored and though I completely trust Snazzy there seems to be a lot of complaints on the subreddit. But then again, there’s a lot of complaints about the Roborock and the Dreams L10s too
Recently purchased this from Ecovacs UK and I'm returning it. There is one enormous flaw with this robot, the washing pads needing to be cleaned by the main station numerous times during a clean. Not a problem on a single story house, but on a house with two or more floors, you spend your time taking the robot to the base station, allowing it to clean, pausing it, taking it back upstairs and setting it on the way again. You don't save time, because you're baby sitting a robot that wants to keep cleaning and then re-wetting the pads and return to the base station to do that. I've a small house, semi detached in the UK. The settings on the robot are to allow the vacuum to work for the longest amount of time with out the need to return to the base station. On average, the robot will want to return to the base station every 6-10 minutes. The whole house took me over 1.30hr to baby sit the robot. Also, I've had other robots that can climb over the threshold into the utility, but unfortunately, this can't. Despite it stating it has a high clearance, it doesn't. Which results in having the utility that has the threshold set as another map of its own. Over the years I've owned Roomba, expensive and clunky, but well made and kinda cleans ok. Neato, ok but the quality isn't there and dies. Samsung, good quality, but mapping seems off and would get stuck. Xclea, pretty robust, very strong and a workhorse, but not particularly well made and various things stopped working. In a nutshell, if you live in a single story house, this is perfect, set and forget, but it does use a lot of water and you will be replacing it daily. Those living on two or more floors, expect to baby sit and carry it down to the base station, clean the pads and then go back up stairs again. If you leave it, the robot will give up trying to find the base station upstairs and stop, resulting in the robot not finishing the clean.

lol🥴, I think there's no machine that can go up and down stairs on its own right now. maybe buying another base station can solve this?
@BitsBytesBobs
Жыл бұрын
@@sophierichardsa2754 I think you misunderstood. I don’t expect it to go up and downstairs, I’ve had 6 robo vacs before, I know they don’t. However, the point you missed, is this is a mopping vac that needs to return to the base station frequently to clean its mops. When it’s on another floor it can’t be left as it will mop and then stop and hunt for a base station, which is downstairs. It then will stop till they are cleaned. Which negates having a robot to clean as eventually 6-10 mins you have to take it to the station manually. If they had a water tank inside it would solve the issue. This doesn’t work with two base stations, I don’t know of any that do.
Probably the only channel with all encompassing tech coverage
Every day, my deebot starts cleaning after I leave, and when I come back home, the floor is all clean and tidy. It's great because it doesn't need to keep emptying the trash like other robots do all the time😘
Great video. I would really love to see an option to permanent connect the T20 omni to a water faucet and the used water tank to the P trap pipe under the sink. So you never have to refresh the watertank and never have to clean out the used water tank in the T20 omni. As far as i know, no manufacturer offers this option. Ecovacs would make a killing offering this option to the T20 omni.
@snazzy
Жыл бұрын
That would be awesome indeed. Narwal offers a fill and drain port on their machines, but you need an adapter that's only sold in the Chinese market so you'd have to import one, unfortunately. Agree that a fill-empty would be very nice-especially for mops like the T20 that burn through a water tank fairly quickly.
@Dr2Chainz

All you would have to do is hook a water line to the tank and throw a float tap on the end and it will keep it topped up. It's a bit DIY but if you really want it you can absolutely do it
@groundzero_-lm4md
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, an auto fill/empty system would basically be peak automation. Aside from the bag you'd never have to touch the system. It also would reduce the chance of stuff growing in the tank since there would be no tank and it would use fresh water every time. I do like Shark's system which doesn't use a bag (reduces a recurring expense and saves waste).

I must say I love the robot vacuum videos.
I used to love to vacuum as well as a kid Quinn at home at my grandpa’s house. I even had the same vacuum toy whenI was younger. Washing windows… not so much.
I thought it was kinda weird that you called out these 2 features as being exclusive and not available on competition: 1. Ability to choose the order rooms are cleaned 2. Self-emptying dock/base sucking dust out of an alternate port instead of back through the rollers Hasn’t iRobot had these features for years?
Since there is no water tank in the debot like the x1 omni how often does it return to clean mops? You addressed it in your video but I didn't follow. Is there a setting in the app to pick a clean interval like in the x1 omni or is it constant. Hard to believe a wet mop can clean for 10 minutes and still be wet enough to be effective. If not 10 then what is the number. Maybe you could explain this in more detail.
Thanks Quinn! Can’t find it at bestbuy yet but will check later! Can’t wait to move my iRobot S9+ upstairs
The old plastic ball popping vaccuum; THAT'S a memory I forgot I had.

Good video. Would love to see a comparison/opinion video between the T20 omni and the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra (or the new S8 Pro Ultra, since you already have it). I've personally been using the S7 MaxV ultra for about 13 months now (previously had an Roomba S7+) and for me, I couldn't even compare the two, since I love the moping feature & we don't have any carpets in the house across 3 floors. The robot vacuums and mops every 2 days of the week (currently cleaning history: 861 hours, 28Km2, 537 cycles) I've also added the auto-drying attachment and a skin so I looks like R2D2 from starwars and I love it lol.

Love it. Looking forward to Mac Pro!!
I recently bought the T10 Omni for $400 (they're clearing them near me) and I like it, but the non-lifting mop pads are a tad annoying .. although it does a great job mopping. The one thing I noticed as this is my first EcoVacs robot (I've used Roomba, Wyze, Roborock, and some miscellaneous brands), is the app quality .. it's just so half-implemented. Localization is incomplete (such as am:pm, timezones are limited), and various elements have component overruns (also seen in this review video). It feels like they're trying to copy what everyone else has, but they're doing it in a bare-minimum way. Hardware seems to be there, just wish they'd pick up their application game. Side note, Roomba has the room-order option (got it around 6 months ago, iirc), and Roomba also evacuates the dust via an opening flap. Roborock (and probably the spinoffs) are the only one I know of that does it back through the rollers. I just wish they'd implement running the vacuum's motor in reverse during the evacuation sequence so that it can dislodge/blow out some of the filter dust. I am excited to see what Dyson's new vac brings to the table, I expect it to be innovative ... and cost the price of a small car.
How does it compare to the Roborock S8 pro Ultra? I'm considering either of these based on mopping performance

When are we gonna get a Homekit vacuum?
I need one connected to the house energy, water and sewage systems! THEN I'll be happy! Truly set it and forget it!
i bought an X1 Omni a year ago.. The YIKO AI is not truly disabled as when you attempt to activate it by saying "OK YIKO" it responds vocally by saying it's disabled. Super annoying when it somehow activates because of the TV noise. The drying function isn't perfect, and the moisture gets in the dustbin, causing dirt/dust to stick to the inside and eventually clog the auto-empty chute. I honestly regret getting it, and if I do end up buying a new vacuum robot, it'll probably be a Roborock.

Im torn between this...the robo s7....and robo s8. From what i have seen the s8 isnt much of an upgrade over the 7 and actually performs worse in certain aspects. I have mainly hardwood floors and tile...with a few area rugs. We have pets with pet hair....so hardwood vacuum with good anti tangle and ability to handle hair is my primary concern, followed by a "decent" mop as my second concern...followed by hands off ability for as long as possible as my third. What would you suggest between these 3? (If i went with the robo s7 i would add the drying feature). I'm a tech guy so the app isn't a huge deal for me as far as learning them, but I do prefer more feature rich apps over limited ones even if they are "harder" to use.

8:40 I understand why you are making these robot vacuum videos but this part is what imo hurts the credibility. When every new vacuum is the best one you review and when they all cost north of $800 it seems like you imply that it is worth upgrading every 6 months to a year where as you did not even keep the last one in your home which you got for “free”. I get that it is a fully sponsored video and at that time it was what you said it was but it just seems very disingenuous I don’t know how else to put it. I am not in the market to make these kinds of purchases (or can afford to) so it does not directly affect me so just wanted to let you know how it felt from an outside perspective. I love the detail that you go into when “reviewing” anything like how you explain how stuff works and why you should care about it in all your content. That is especially why I love your coverage of Apple since they are pretty secretive and you help uncover the specs underneath products and cannot wait for your review on the Vision Pro so please continue making these videos if it helps pay the bills. I just wanted to say when you said “I don’t see how subsequent generations can improve at all” in your Roborock video then say you are replacing it in 6 months or so it really hurts credibility. I understand it’s a different company and they are competing against each other to get your attention and spot in your home. The main problem I have is that you don’t explicitly say it but it feels like the underlying statement is that you would pay to upgrade between generations which I assume is not the case. Please continue to make great content but also please don’t lose the trust you have built up with your audience. I love your content and want to see you on my screen for years if not decades to come. I just don’t want these videos to become your entire channel and you lose the audience.
