PIF DIY

I've received a lot of helpful information from various KZread videos over the years. It started to become my "go to" website when researching a fix or improvement for an upcoming DIY project. Many of these videos have saved me both time and money! Then I thought that I might be in a position to help others in the same manner so I started PIFDIY (Pay It Forward DIY). Kind of like a karma thing... The idea is that if we all share our knowledge, we'll all benefit. So, I hope you get something out of my videos and if you're in a position to share helpful information, I encourage you to participate.

    Hello PIF DIY, I want your advise, should I buy this giraffe tool pressure washer hose reel or should I buy a normal pressure washer hose reel?

  • @PIFDIY
    @PIFDIYКүн бұрын

    WB, this is a tough one. If you don't tinker or don't have patience for a possible failure/replacement, maybe look elsewhere. Actually GT has an all in one pressure washer with hose that gets good reviews, so maybe look at that. I find it hard not to recommend them, despite my failures. It's refreshing to find a company that gives you the support that I've received from GT and I'm honestly not unhappy with my purchase. The company has been extremely responsive and easy to deal with. They seem like a company that strives to fix/improve shortcomings in their products. They acknowledged the inferior hose on the first one and revised the product with a different hose. I would guess that the company will continue to work on any other issues until everything is ironed out.

  • @PIFDIY

    The MaxJax is great. Next best thing to a full size lift if you have to work under the vehicle. If you do get one, you have to get a reclining creeper. The position in the creeper is excellent for the height of the lift. You can work comfortably and with full range of motion. Without one, it would be awkward to work at that height imo.

    Okay, I finally jumped in and began testing. I had been manually defrosting for many years, once every few months, more in summer. Tip #1, no need to take apart freezer compartment stuff if it’s the defrost timer in the upstairs area! Thank you for showing me how I could spin it manually, without even taking it out, because I did so and heard the click, then I touched the heater element and burnt my finger! Ouch! But that tells me that the defroster terminator (aka temperature sensor, which is so hard to get to) is functional, as is the heater element itself. So, now I can purchase a new defrost timer. And see how it functions after that! Hopefully that’s it. Thanks again so much for the great video!!!

    What wires did you splice and connect the rca cables too?

  • @PIFDIY
    @PIFDIY25 күн бұрын

    If you look at the wiring diagram, you can see that there are wires listed under "Inputs from HU". These are the speaker inputs from the head unit to the original bose amp. You want to use these connections to go to your new amp. So, for front left, you'd use dark green (-) and dark blue (+). For front right you'd use white (-) and red (+).

    I went for it and....after hours it's all running smooth. However, one *HUGE* word of warning. I use my PC for music production, and it therefore has iLOK licenses. You absolutely *MUST* deactivate them all before doing this. Mine are now entirely screwed, and I have had to request deactivation from iLOK. There is no guarantee that they can fix it and it could take a long time if they do. Probably £300 worth of VST licences now useless 😢 You *MUST* deactivate all licenses first. I learned the *VERY* hard way. Uninstalling iLOK before doing this is not enough.

    Installed Mr 12Volt on 997.2 Cab. Rather than remove the Bumper Cover drilled the whole in the cover for a tight fit for the threaded rod on the Camera (used the same Camera from Amazon) and used 2 way tape to mount it to the bumper cover. Same 3m tape they use for applying mouldings so it is attached solidly . Rather than trying to pull those large couplings through small holes I just cut the cable and rejoined when I got them to where they had to go. I found a grommet in the engine compartment that went into the convertible top space and pulled the wire through there. Other than that I routed them much the same way. All in all not that difficult to do just have to take your time.

    Hi, no, very happy with my Mr. 12Volt apple carplay upgrade! Preserves the factory look and performs great. Very FAST wireless carplay connection that never disconnects unexpectedly. The sound quality is very good and allows for lots of adjustment. The only negative is phone quality at higher speeds. The ambient cabin noise seems to overwhelm the mic and makes it difficult to have a phone conversation. This was the case with the OEM bluetooth connection as well, so I really don't feel that I lost any usability.

Would only happen on a dormant desktop, but rare instance recently happened while playing Dragon’s Dogma 2. Suspect that system is conflicting between old Intel files and new AMD files. Reinstalled Windows 11, system seems stable for now. Even better frames in games tbh as well.

    I disconnected two kitchen speakers from the intercom system. I brought the wiring from the original intercom location, to the other side of the wall (laundry room) where I mounted a Sonos Amp. Then I replaced the crappy intercom speakers with Polk 8" ceiling speakers. Now we have great sound in the kitchen with the convenience of streaming from our phones/mobile devices. You might be able to do the same if you remove your intercom.
