Do you know that some corgies are born without a tail? Nearly up to 50 percent? It is called: Natural Bob(tail).

I had 2 pug-corgi dogs and they were super energetic until advanced old age. So smart and sweet and loving. They lived until 15 and 17. One got bladder cancer, which I read is common in Corgis. For lower exercise requirements, adopt a senior! Great dogs and more mellow.

I have a JRT/Chihuahua mix and I’m really lucky that’s what happened bc he has a personality mix of both. He is an anxious little dog, shadow and lapdog, very barky but great at basic obedience besides coming when he is called unless treats are involved he is highly food motivated. I recently decided to adopt a kitten.. we’re having fun.. maybe one day he’ll stop barking.. one day..

Rescued 2 sibling jacks - what a crazy idea! They were quite the pair but oh well loved them. Our girl passed last year at 17, our boy is still with us at 18.5 yrs. He is blind, deaf but still full of energy.

The video was on point. Pet steps are mandatory. My second chihuahua became overprotective of me. Every time people got near me or touched me, he would go into protective mode. I would have to leave him on a leash at the vet. Once I was out of the room, he became a whole different pup. I was the problem, when he was a pup, I was very depressed over a break-up. I have owned five chihuahuas. Although I love all dog breeds, I cannot imagine owning anything other than a chihuahua. Train, train, train. My advice is to go down to their level to train them, at least at the start. :)

I got my first aussie while living in an apartment, wouldn't recommend that for most, i took him everywhere. Still had to go to the dog park for 2+ hours a day. I now live on an acre and have two aussies. They run around together and constantly get into stuff. Way to smart, one knows how to open doors and the other one is learning how. The funny thing is one gets his pets and will go for some alone time, the other will snuggle with you and get mad if you stop petting him. Love my little hellions though.

I’ve had Aussies for 30+yrs. & don’t agree with your negative depiction of all their traits. This is obviously a breed too intelligent for you to understand & appreciate. I hope you find the breed that matches your needs. Anxiety is usually due to the dog’s energy from its owner & bc they are so intelligent & if they know their owner doesn’t understand them, that’s why they may act out. I hope you change your narrative on the Aussie. Kindly-😮You have a lot of it wrong.

My almost 15 year old Papillon hits so many of your points. 1. Super energetic (did agility for fun when he was young) and would go on 5 mile walks with me 2. is still the neighborhood watch dog, barking at any car, leaf, squirrel, or person invading his territory, which is our entire street 3. Is a velcro dog who wants to be near me all the time, but not a lap dog at all. Next to me, not on me. 4. Super intelligent, but only follows commands when he wants to, as he is... 5. Stubborn as all hell 6. Dental is great, even though he's never let me brush his teeth. He gets a dental done every year now, used to be every 2 years when he was younger, and still has all his teeth. 7. Housetraining was actually pretty quick, though he was 4 months old when i got him. I taught him to ring bells on a shoelace hung from the doorknob and he picked it up super fast. Unfortunately, so did my mom's half Maine Coon cat, who would not stop ringing the bells at my moms house in the middle of the night, so she only puts them out now when my dog and I are visiting. I do agree they are great dogs, just do the research so you know what you might be in for. This is a great video to show the pros and cons of the breed.

Don’t agree with the ‘people pleaser’ thing. It’s a trait that the Papillon does have and shares with the Border Collie, which is one of the reasons they excel at agility and have been bred to border collies to create the ‘BorderPap’ for sports

Unfortunately, my chihuahua was my first dog so I failed in training her. I socialized her early, but she grew up during a lock down so things were different. I had to leave her on her own at the vets multiple times, when she never got the chance to get used to the visits. She also had to be transferred by cargo without us knowing beforehand. It makes me sad, as much as I'm trying to fix things, she is very fearful of new people and other animals...

My Standard Poodle could easily jump my 4 ft. Fence. For her first few years she did not realize it. But once she did, she could never be contained again. She had a huge prey drive & if she saw a squirrel or rabbit, off she went. I live only a few houses from a very busy street so it was only a matter of time until she got hit. It broke my heart but I had to rehome her. A farm on a non busy road with nothing but soybean fields in every direction.

I had a poodle, Pom, Chihuahua mix for 15 years. She passed almost 3 years ago & I still miss her every single day. We went to assisted living homes to visit every week & she loved everyone. She would go looking for people who weren’t in the visiting rooms. The most empathetic dog I’ve ever seen.

I had a Jack Russell live to age 19. He was a great hunter. He was very loving. He wasn’t as energetic as my family’s new JRT, but loved to play in his younger years. Throughout his life he brought in at least 50 animals, including a rabbit just a few months before he died. I also hate to admit this, but when he was like 1-2 years old he brought home a dead kitten. He really was the best dog I have ever had. He was with me from 12 to 31 years old. He was part of our family. Everyone in the neighborhood loved him as my grandmother just let him roam. He had her trained! He knew all he had to do was bother her or bark and she would let him go outside. He was an extremely loving and loyal dog. My family’s new JRT has big shoes to fill. RIP Winston

Mine is very much a lap dog in between walks and naps for long spell and loves to cuddle up close or on my knee. It’s unfair to paint the breed as all being the same.

The biggest consideration is which poodle? Poodles are very versatile, and depending on the breeder, breeder stock or parents, may lean in different directions. Hunting poodles may be more active, higher prey drive, and need lots of exercise. What about confirmation champions? To show well and be "up" for 3 days of grooming, show life, and walk in the ring with confidence - that may require a specific temperament. Very calm and patient while on a grooming table and big presence in the ring, and loves attention. While emotional support, therapy, or companion poodles exhibit human focus, sensitivity, and sometimes desire to be part of the family. Seek out the type of poodle that best suits your life style for the next 12-17 years. I've had 10 standard poodles and all different. 9 out of the 10 were OK with less exercise to relax. 1 hunting - show poodle required 4 miles per day, every day. Some poodles can get into chewing for a year or so, others not ever. Some bark some not so much. Thus ask a lot of questions and don't settle on the least expensive poodle ... because it's the lifetime costs that count most.

When I first got my JRT poodle mix, I didn’t know how to carry her. Turns out, the “like a football” is the best way. She’s not a snuggly dog, so carried head first is better for her than “like a baby” or held close to your body. Also, watch The Dog Hotel to see how the actors deal with the JRTs close body issues. 😆
