Awesome idea!
What angle did you cut the side rails at 📐
This video sounds like it is narrated by Dr. Steve Brule. Haha. Awesome.
How much was it total money
How is it attached to the truck bed?
Did you u have to drill holes into those 2 by 4’s in order to use the j bolts?
I like this keep it simple , thanks for sharing your build!
Can you please recommend a library to use in order to control this leds? I am bulding a test circuit, where leds need to have an external power supply and they have to be controlled (turned off or on) using raspberry pi and python.
I’m almost finished building mine, based off your video. But I can’t figure out the door. It looks like I have the same hinge as you and the same material positioning as your model but the top of the door pinches the top of the trim piece and won’t open all the way
I’ve got the exact truck in grey and I’m going to do something very similar after watching this! Did you use half inch ply or 5/8? 3/4 would be too heavy, I’m thinking
I really like the idea of the back opening that it locks with a truck tailgate very smartly thought out! to make it more challenging to break into the back; thanks for sharing your ideas.
Can we get the plans you used
Use it in your new truck. If you built it , you will find a way to make it fit on the other one.
This is so cool when I’m older I’m gonna build a camper shell for my truck❤
Thanks for the video how high is the wood shell
Where’d you get those gas struts? Plz lmk know
Nice job man! Very impressive.. I want to do something similar.. I'd like to have mine a bit insulated though in case I wanna camp back there.. you got skills dude.. I'll give you $100 and a case of beer to make one for my truck..
Im going to build one like this tomorrow and film it. Cant buy a real one because of covid lead times. Using a 4x8 on the top, the bed is about 6 feet wide, so the angle and rise need to end at 4 feet wide for the top… Thats all i got so far.
Cool, I’m gonna build my own, I’m on a tight budget too , thinking of spraying rhino or something too water proof
Would like to see more details of inside the door. Nice job
Awsomeeee
I keep coming back to your video because it's more of what I like. I like the 22.5 degree sidewall but I have a soft tonneau cover now. It will be wider than the top with the 22.5 degree angle. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you for the video. I have to make a one-way move cross country and I have enough scrap materials to make something like this so I am. I am also incorporating brackets on the roof to bolt on my 16' extension ladder.
Thanks for the video. Very practical. In mine I'm going to try to increase the back dimension to add a bit more headroom. I'm not sure yet. Just wanted to say thanks for the idea. I first was looking for an aluminum camper shell n cut the length down to fit my 5'-6" bed. But I want to also add an extension that slides in to my tailgate because I'm a bit tall for my bed length. Wasn't thinking when I bought this truck...but it's cheaper than buy a new truck. God Bless.
Super simple! Love it! Does the weatherstripping on the door keep 100% of rain out?
Thanks for the videos. I watched both. They seem good for what I need. I see a few modifications I can make as you pointed out. I'm thinking if 2x2 will be light enough. I like the "J" hooks attachment. I don't mind my zero visibility because I have a rear view camera. But pictures are great.
Did you have to sand the wood down to apply the costing?
Just beautiful! I can't wait to see it in person.
Thank you Angie!
This is amazing!! Great job 😁
Thank you! 😄
That's Awesome Lights Show In 2021 Thank You👍❤️🌹🥰
Thank you!
Nice job
Thank you!
I think you and your girls did a great job. Thank you for sharing with the world. Merry Christmas!
Thank you! I read your comment to them and they smiled from ear to ear! Merry Christmas!
awsome job
Thank you!
Nice!
What pins do you use on the raspberry pi to connect the data line to the WS2811?
pin-12:GPIO-18 or pin-35:GPIO19 Hopefully this helps! I just uploaded a video of our light show for 2021. It is completely ran of this same pi.
I have a 1987 Dakota how would I build a topper like that I just want something simple to cover my stuff. How long did it take to build yours did it cost alot
No rear view windows?
What angle are the side support cut at?
Oh man ty i'm going to start this in a few days
what were yhe angles you used?
Will you sell it to me
I can make you a better one. As a licensed carpenter, this isn’t the best “build.” Skilled labor isn’t cheap, cheap labor isn’t skilled
That camper shell you built looks awesome great job 👍😎🎸
How did you pick a gas shock/strut? (Length and force of the shock) . . . I need one for a similar door.
Wood at Home Depot screws and used futon mattress from Goodwill or a cheap one off Craigslist with period Stains on it probably all under $100 maybe $150 at that and two days of labor maybe less and one day. I'm doing it this weekend and hitting the streets. Fucking COVID!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 As long as I have a roof over my head for me and my dog I don't give a fuck and if the cops give me a hard time I'm just tell him I'm broke there's covered and my girlfriend drinks a lot and I don't want to get in a fight with her I'll get by. People just need to stay fuck away from me let me figure out food and other shit ramen can go a long way and so can can chili and canned other shit. I live in a van once by the ocean and it was the best most prettiest time of my life especially at night time when I could relax and just watch videos on my phone and hang out with my dog it's the mornings that suck when people walk by and they're like what the fuck is this guy doing but now in California it doesn't matter at least I'm not on the street doing drugs and have a tent on the street I have my own vehicle the cops don't give a fuck about any of this stuff anymore
Why didn't you caulk it in?
Great job man...
How much wood? I'm trying to escape these crazed women and start a life on the road. I cant afford a $700 cap. I am forced to make one. How much wood and how long to make?
I gotta tell ya it looks great. I bought a 1990 Cheyenne Chevy truck c1500. I'd love to see the plans you used for yours. I went shopping for a cap. $800.00 used. I just thought that was too much
I was thinking of rubber roofing over the cap. To ensure no leaks whatsoever
1000000 de Gracias.
