My neighbour put in my garden a ultra loud fan that he is using as air extractor (has some huge fridges I think). I think he will help and make it silent but... In case he doesn't is there some material I can put in the garden to build some... Sound proof (and weather proof) "wall" between us? Thanks!

One thing to keep in mind when doing something like this, especially in houses with older A/C systems (or none) is that many houses leak the A/C return air, on purpose, via the gaps below the doors. Windows will also sometimes have small filter vents to allow for outside air to come in. If you block all this off you are effectively creating a sealed space in which to suffocate in, since no fresh oxygen can enter and displace the carbon dioxide you are expelling. Now for houses with A/Cs that have built-in outside air re-circulation this is not a concern in that the vent will provide fresh air, but the air still needs to find its way back to the A/C intake vent or you end up with overpressure in the room and no real airflow through your vent.

you are on the right track with the moving blankets but thrift store blankets are SOOOOO much cheaper yeah, regular blankets, you'll have to double or triple compared to moving blankets, but still cheaper

This is the first video I've seen on this subject acknowledge that $50 isn't exactly cheap for some foam and I subscribed right away. The space needs more budget conscious creators and it's a breath of fresh air to finally see recommendations people can afford. Thank you.

Very spot on video. I’ve made my own acoustic panels, not too hard to do. The priciest part was the wood frames, probably done something cheaper

I used "Go Gear Synthetic All Weather Cycle Oil" which contains blue Lithium. It even suggests as other uses hinges, locks, garage doors etc. Its been over 3 years since I put it on and completely silent still. Recommended if you can get hold of it, not sure they sell it in the USA though, it's a British make.

I'm only 3 minutes into the video, but I have to mention.. growing up the son of a carpenter: Door hinges come with set screws. You can adjust the gaps of the doors to some extent with nothing more than a screwdriver. So if it is just a little bit, you might already be able to reduce the noise without making a single permanent change to your furniture or walls.

The real explanation why noises are called after colors is because their frequencies are like this in the light spectrum. White has all the frequencies. Same as white noise

To seal gap under door you can nail folded belt of felt. If you get door out of hinges and nail it in center it can be almost invisible.

My floor's concrete, but I can hear my downstairs neighbors laughing and yelling so clearly. I think it's coming through the wall, but I can't be sure. I know there's not much I can do with the concrete floor. Would putting insulation in the wall help block the noise?

Looking for things to soundproof a rowhouse apartment basement... the biggest problem is the wall under the stairs that connects to their house. The basement is unfinished and the landlord is allowing drilling under the stairs.

Kenmore was making noise after too big a load was put in when last ran. Not level so adjusted pretty close but still squealing. Noise is from all around not just one spot. Tried soap idea from top access and rubbed on belt still noise so I angled belt and rubbed on bottom side of belt and then only squealed for a few seconds but was quieter and quieter until gone after maybe 10 seconds running it. Put clothes in and ran and made small squeak a couple times but then that was it. Thanks so much for the video!

When the power is out you want to power your main thing that is going bad after a few days. Your refrigerator, tv, lights and charge cell phones. With any grid down or an emergency situation when you don't have power for a few days everyone's having a cookout. Because there's stuff in the refrigerator and freezer is going bad fast. After that everybody's rushing to the store to wipe out what's left if any is left at that point of groceries. Trying to run this cheap Chinese inverter generator for a few or several days when you've got a lot of money in the refrigerator and freezer. And on top of that is vital. You be lucky if you could run a full size refrigerator freezer with this Acer. But the Honda 2200 does and I've tested it on a 50 ft 10 gauge extension cord a full size refrigerator freezer. also with a big 19" fan running and kicking on a Skil saw. Honda is commercial grade. You better buy a few of these cheap Acer generators because if you go the cheap route you're going to need a few spares when they break. I first went the cheap route and bought 2 new cheap Chinese inverter generators and they both run on propane. One was the dual fuel and the other one was propane only. If you know anything about fuels propane is superior to gasoline. It doesn't have all those gasoline, carburetor, needle and seat, stale fuel, hard to start, no start, flooded engine, crankcase full of gasoline and more gasoline problems. The 1 dual fuel New cheap Chinese inverter generator I had stop making power. The overload light would come on right when it would start up it would still run but it would not make any power. The other small portable generator propane only. The engine locked up you couldn't pull the cord it was extremely tight. I've lost some time and money but the valuable lesson I learned. You get what you pay for and this is when I went with a new tri-fuel Honda. That I only run propane on because it's the superior care free fuel. That's been years ago and I haven't looked back since. Hondas are so good and extremely dependable and built for longevity. I now have a few of them. And of course all of them only run on propane. I even sell Honda tri fuel new generators on the side. On Facebook Marketplace if you're interested in one leave me a message thanks. You can also look up my name and search Honda eu2200i in Roanoke Virginia on Facebook Marketplace in the search bar. The price is 123, 456 and has the blue rubber cap beside the carry handle. I've got a few ads on Marketplace.
