It appears to have an electric heating element and a built-in water pump. Is this true? It would be an improvent over 1930s wringer washers.

Looks to be a Speed Queen commercial gas dryer. Only gripe I have about these is they tend to run on the hot side though, that can be remedied by putting a 18,000 btu orifice in or simply throttling the burner down with the internal shutoff valve right burner.

It is rainy in Los Angeles, CA because of the storm. Have some light weight but outdated wind breakers and clothes of that sort. Have been wondering if there were people recycling and converting them into rain coats using plastic bags, hot iron, hot glue gun, hot glue sticks, and parchment papers. I believe that it can be quite easy, creative, and practical.

A pod in this type of washer won't work and if it does not as well as modern washers, would of gone with powder tbh
@andrewwilliams23535 ай бұрын
I assume, if you speak English, that you meant to say "would HAVE gone with powder". Would of makes no sense at all, dumbo.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. As long as that pod comes in contact with sufficiently heated water and dirty laundry, it will work in any washer, vintage, or modern🤓. Pods are nothing more than highly concentrated detergent neatly wrapped inside a “sophisticated” plastic shell.

Nice machine. Closing the lid acts as a type of low pass filter as it cuts out some of the surface noise. I think machines like this were designed to be played with the lid down, but it depends how much you trust the autostop! 😅 I think the cute little record cleaner is vintage, but may have been added by the original owner, and not factory fitted. I also wonder if the soundbox is the original one. Looking at the way it sits at an angle, it might be slightly too big for the machine. Thanks 😀 👍
