I am tired of losing to asu. Need to look for new pitching prospects. Rest of team is very good. Coach knows by now, walks will kill you. Arizona had very good pitching in the past. Let's find some. Sorry but its just my opinion. Bear Down and good luck.

IF the WLB plays his responsibility as the B and weak side A gap & plugs just one of those would be holes where the QB # likes to counter into that will help support the Free Saftey who must play pass first and then run on just about every play unless a blitz is called before the snap of the ball. My logic with that is that you want the first (false step) to be back 1 step much like an Out fielder in baseball because you can always run faster going forward than backwards... Go Kings Go!!!

IF the LDE fakes as if he is going to "Stay Home" & the closest ILB (Which could be the WLB) depending on what alignment is called Over/Under or Even/Odd etc... The WLB could be playing over the B or the off A gap if using only LBs. So the WLB will have to shoot an A or B gap. This play could play be contained but never stopped completely. Some times defensive players need to be taught that they'll have to gamble but they better be right more times than not & at the right on 80% of 3rd downs.

I apologize but you need to understand the actual blocking sheme they use! yours is poorly put together. The blocking scheme of oregons offense is that of o line double teams. they will double team a few dlineman then they will move to the second level to block.

Zone blocking schemes can use a pulling guard. Inside and outside zone schemes can use pulling guards to help in the numbers games. Jet sweeps often use outside zone blacking schemes with a play-side guard pulling. A "true" zone blocking scheme it completely read and react, which are almost always only used if you smell a stunt coming with slanting D-linemen. Bust most zone schemes today use a double team rule or a pulling G or T.

This seems like a poor play design to me. It can work in certain situations if and only if you have faster athletes along with the opposing team having poor tackling ability. In the NFL this play would be shut down quickly.

@MrAUFANATIC That is an incorrect generalization, as many teams including the Oregon Ducks have zone rules involving a pulling guard. As I said in my previous comment, it is called pin and pull. Uncovered OL pull, TE pins EMOLS, back aims for his heels. It is most assuredly zone blocking with pulling linemen. Oregon has actually started running a no-read sweep off this same principle. Their counter to it is a 3 technique midline read option.

@rrcoachhill I'm not sure where you get any of your info, but it is false. It is a legal formation (7 men are on the LOS) however the TE is not an eligible receiver as he is covered up. The backside tackle actually is eligible on this. Also, every zone block scheme has pulling linemen. It is pin and pull. TE down blocks the end, covered linemen block the head up defender, uncovered pull to block the sam and mike backers. Nebraska used the same thing under Osborne.
