    Hi Phill, has the new bike caused you discomfort due to its compression ratio and lack of a cushioned hub on the rear wheel

    INTENT for your riding style & then the money OR visa-versa but I doubt most people truly know what their intent will be until after they've bought a bike. I looking to buy so I've spent 6 months with a list of dual sport bikes that I believe will fit my wants/needs? Since I've had time still saving for my purchase I taken all my selections & noted most the MOD's for each one including the costs and how feasible that I'll have the money, time, and ability to do them. The Rally version is on my short list & you got the right bike or at least one that offered you more than others..... kudo's for the video, it helps me. peace

    Nice video mate and congrats on the new bike. Is it brand new or just new to you. I was looking at a DRZ but the seat height is far to high for me.

    Cheers mate! 1130 kays on the clock, so the first service off brand new...lol Definitely a taller bike - I have long legs so all good. There are lowering links, and another option is a lower seat (like I have). Pretty bloody impressed with the power to weight ration!

    Yeah I've looked at that terrible start to the track you stopped at... looked only, haha! I had a half-assed look for Scout Falls too - was several years ago, and I don't remember finding any signs for it, and by the looks, it's a bit of a local hidden gem really. Well worth the rock scramble to get there Phil!!

    The quest continues... but not for any great distance until you put that extra tank on 😁 Lost count of your bikes Phil - be interesting to see how long you keep this one! Does it have highway legs?

  • @MidCoastAdventures
    @MidCoastAdventures5 күн бұрын

    Hi David. Definitely needs that 17 litre tank put on asap...lol As for the Hwy, 90 kph is the sweet spot with the current gearing, so ok for me, not ideal for most I'd say.

    Congrats on the new bike. I went from Dr 650 to the 660 Tuareg. 80hp with killer suspension out of the box did it for me. I dare say a drz will be on the list in a few years.

    Thanks for posting another excellent vid. New bike WOW ! It’s s always a magic moment. 👍🏽 I’ve yet to do any beach riding. How do you look after the chain? My bike is a Honda CB500X ( 2020 model 19” front wheel running Mitas EO7+ tyres) Do you reckon a bike like mine would be OK on the beach ?

  • @MidCoastAdventures
    @MidCoastAdventures5 күн бұрын

    Hi Sean, thanks mate, appreciate the kind words👍 As for the chain, first off, don't ride in the saltwater, second pre-spray it with a non stick type lubricant, and give the entire bike a good hose down once home. Then WD spray on any metal bits. The CBX would be fine on a beach, just expect some hardship getting on and off if the access points are chewed out or step. Low tide only first time. And go with a mate. Cheers 🍻

    @@MidCoastAdventures Thanks' heaps for the good tips on how to look after a chain in the sand. Very much appreciated! I will definitely have to find someone who's up to tagging along with me on my first beach ride. Probably someone comfortable helping me lift a 200KG plus bike up of the deck! 😀

    Love the drz Phil! Tossed up between one of them and the dr650 in 2020 and the Tanami pack swayed onto the Dr. No regets as I do long highway miles some times and don't tend to do single track stuff. All the companies spending big dollars on developing mid size bikes and Suzuki has been here all along! Update them with a 6 speed and efi please!

  • @MidCoastAdventures
    @MidCoastAdventures6 күн бұрын

    Cheers John! I did miss my 650. Loved the little Rally - 17,000 kays of super fun adventures. It's hard to pass up torque and raw power, the DR's are pretty bloody impressive machines! The DRZ's or off the Suzuki website, so either no longer available in Aus soon, or (very optimistic thought) they are revamping them as the true do everything ADV bike they could be. Time will tell...

  • @MidCoastAdventures
    @MidCoastAdventures6 күн бұрын

    Hi mate. Still a 5 speed box in the Suzuki's. Quite a tall bike too if you're under 5.10 or so. And yeah, the CRF 300"s would be pretty bouncy and struggle a bit if you're 115 kg. I'd seriously look into the 450 Himalayan 👍

    Well said message mate 👍 Yeah, was sad watching it ride off, but wise to move things on whilst they have good resale value. Ah yeah, the CRF 450 L- so close to making a brilliant light adv bike. Once they sort out the oil capacity for longer service intervals, a comfy seat, a little windscreen or tower, and they sell like hot cakes.
